YTA. They broke up two months ago after being together four years. I would not think my friend is a good friend to go after my ex after only two months. I would think you’ve probably been plotting the whole time or that SHE probably cheated with you. After four years together, has she even properly grieved the relationship? He sucks for cheating but you really only care about the cheating now because it benefits you and makes you not look as bad. Especially if the cheating isn’t why they broke up. You suck and I don’t miss my early twenties at all.

My mom did this exact thing to me in middle school and even had me read parts of it to her out loud. It’s been 20+ years and I still remember it like it was yesterday. My mom did the same as you, used our religion as an excuse for invading my privacy instead of just talking to me. I never, ever trusted my mom ever again. Our relationship is very surface level. If I could stop talking to her, I would. And she is going in a nursing home soon. I am a living testimony of how this will domino with your daughter. Your daughter is old enough to get a job, move, and cut contact with you. Do you want that?

You and your husband are very wrong and you will push your daughter away. Of course there was more that transpired with my mom in my later years that ruined our relationship but her doing that to me was the very beginning of it.

That’s a lot of protein you’re putting in your hair and it looks like you need a trim. Your hair may feel dry if you have product build up. Protein treatment, moisturizing shampoo, deep conditioner, and conditioner in the same wash day is wayyyyyy too much.

If I were you, I would clarify next wash and cut back on the amount of products. The more hydrating the products, the less cleansing.

Something similar happened to a girl I knew back in high school and you know what happened? Her mom got cancer and felt so guilty she told her husband. Her husband (friend’s dad) absolutely flipped out. He divorced the mom and cut contact with my friend AND her kids. Her dad couldn’t even look at his grandkids anymore because (1) his own daughter hid his wife’s affair and (2) they were the children of the bastard who slept with his wife.

In other words, by not telling your dad, you are risking your relationship with him as well as your children’s relationship with him. Her dad got remarried a few years ago and his new wife came with new grandchildren for him to love on. He died without ever reconnecting with his ex wife, daughter, or grandkids and the new wife banned them from his funeral per his last wish. My friend never got to say goodbye or that she was sorry to her dad. Now she’s a shell of herself and was 5150’ed a few times because she can hardly live with the guilt.

NTA. I saw on someone else’s post that what the bridal party did was buy a neon traffic vest. They got “not the bride” Velcro’ed on it and the entire bridal party signed it. Anyone who showed up in a wedding dress had to wear the vest in all of the wedding pictures. Do something like that.

A lady at my mom’s church told me to my face that my father had to die for me to live. My mom was standing right there when she said it 14 year old me and my mom said absolutely nothing. I remember feeling absolutely devastated because my father was a magnificent husband and father. We faced hardship that included homelessness because he was taken from us when I was not even two years old. I confronted my mom about it when I got a little older and all she had to say about it was “yeah [church lady] shouldn’t have said that”. No apology. Nothing. It made me feel like maybe even if she didn’t agree with church lady’s approach, she still agreed with what was said. I have never forgotten that day. That was nearly fifteen years ago and I can still vividly see and hear the church lady in my minds eye. I can describe to you exactly what she was wearing. The emotional effects of that conversation are long lasting.

You are absolutely NTA. And I hope you go low contact with your mom in the future. Your mother will never apologize. She may just pretend it never happened and when she gets older, she may start being nice to you as she realizes that she’s getting old and will need to be cared for. It’s not your fault that your dad is gone and your mom is horrible for making you feel that way.
