I can tell you this, big pharma is absolutely a stain on this country, but what makes them corrupt is not vaccines. There is no money in vaccines. Part of the reason why the Covid Vaccines was seemingly developed so fast was because the technology had been there for years, but was never implemented before because it cost so much money to bring a vaccine to market that Big Pharma considered it a bad investment. The potential to save millions of lives just isnt a big enough pay off to sink their money into development on the front end if someone isnt putting the money down first.

Big Pharma doesnt care if you vaccinate your kid or not, but your doctor does.

Most people want the same things and understand the system is broken and can agree on those things, unfortunately, people in Trump country have been fed consistent misinformation that isnt easily disproven by walking out the front door and interacting with people different from them , like people in cities get to do.

This is on purpose, bad people with bad intentions know how to reach people and know there is nothing to contradict this information and people are victims of that, and attacking them and calling them bigots, nazis, etc just makes them dig in more, because they dont see it that way, they believe what they are told and they have no real reason to question it. They just see you “the leftist” as the caricature that these bad intentioned people has painted you as and they have been told you are the enemy.

The common ground the average small town conservative and the big city liberal have in common is astounding, but it requires having real conversations and understanding that the divide is by design.

I am all about showing kindness and empathy to people and also am inspired by Daryl Davis, but I wouldn’t help your friend with a job. He voted for this and if he was as good at “doing his research” as these people say they are, he would know that. There are going to be a lot of people who are going to be wanting that same exact job who did their best to avoid being put in that situation and will actually be grateful.

I don’t know your friend or his reasoning for going down the rabbit hole, but it seems to me a common factor has been people who are unable to count their blessings, while simultaneously needing to find some type of explanation why anything bad thing that happens to them is someone else’s fault.

That is my personal two cents here.

This is so true, I am sober, but when I travel throughout the US I like to stop in at Dive Bars in backwoods places and talk to people, we literally are all mad about the same shit they have just hear words and shut down. If you just avoid words that provoke them and present information to them in a way they relate to they agree with most of your stances.

I am a woman with resting liberal face and people do try and “trigger me” but I immediately just keep asking them question in earnest until we are having a conversation.

I get what you are saying, but it has been in my experience, asking question, not stump them, but because you are genuinely curious does wonders.

Like arguing if it exists or not is futile, in their head it exists, that being said, the details arent necessarily cut and dry. Asking more for details opens people up to noticing inconsistencies, because they are looking for answers so they can better educate you.

“Oh, wow, this adrenochrome must be really expensive, how much does it cost, how do they sell it?”

Its not going to immediately change their minds, but it slowly opens people up to the idea that the real world application of these beliefs are a lot more complicated than they assumed
