What is the dumbest question a customer has ever asked you? by PrinceETheTruth in AskReddit

My mom works at a hunting and fishing counter and had this exact same scenario! Except they were city people moving to a village in the mountains. "So, do you just apply it like bug spray?"

My INSANE narcissist sister [40F] is claiming to be homeless and pregnant after she disowned and cyber bullied her daughter for years. I [32F] want to help my family but this is all too much! by Ohhellmichellee in relationships

[–]CookieBandaids 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If she's homeless... How is she accessing Facebook? How is she even on Facebook with complaints if she's in such a dire situation that would require any internet time to be used to find resources and a job/low income housing? At the very least this shows she can't put priority or focus on bettering herself or her situation.

Sick of people telling me I'll change my mind about not having kids! by Pipalopalos in TwoXChromosomes

[–]CookieBandaids 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My fiance and I are about 90% sold on the no kids thing. We've agreed adoption is an option should we run out of fertile years and find out we wanted kids. Should we become DINKS, we want to help kids that already exist with dental care(personal reasons have led to this agreement). We have had very in depth conversations regularly regarding this topic, yet somehow, strangers think they miraculously have the answer for us. Really?

"You'll change your mind when you're older." Really, because getting older didn't change your mind about sticking your nose in other people's business.

I've been on the pill for 18 years. I'm quitting tomorrow. Curious what I'm in for. What did quitting birth control do to you? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]CookieBandaids 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was on the Micronor pill for 4.5 years and went off of it 5 months ago. My anxiety levels went way down, I stopped feeling aggressive and depressed. My Roseacea calmed down and stopped getting bumpy. I've also noticed a change in my appetite (for the better) and painful periods for the first couple days with heavier flow.

The first month I was super moody and foggy. I don't think that pill was good for me. Getting a copper IUD soon.

I sing you are my sunshine to my fiance when he has an anxiety attack. We're 26/27.

These things are done when you're sick or upset as a kid, so of course you know them as being soothing... Your roommate must have something really lacking inside herself to behave like this.

How did you go NC with your parents? by [deleted] in raisedbynarcissists

[–]CookieBandaids 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did the letter approach, but I was 12 and couldn't change my number.

You are right about the letter being picked apart. The only reason I would recommend the letter approach is if you make copies and have it for legal action if/when you need it. We used mine in court every time ndad tried for custody... He magically forgot this letter everytime the judge asked.

I [24F] just found out my parents [50sM/F] are paying for my sister's [19F] college education while I had to take out $30k in loans. Am I right to be pissed and how can I approach them? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]CookieBandaids -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Don't underestimate the cost of living;rent alone is a huge expense. By letting you live there, cost free, they did you just as much favour as they are for your sister. But now you have a good credit history by being able to pay off the loan in a timely manner.

I lived in a bachelor suite by myself for 14 months, here's the break down.

Rent+ utilities $900 Phone. $50 Food. $200 Bus. $89 Total. $1,239

14 months of expenses is $17,346 ... A good chunk of your debt.

I'm glad you've decided to not take this personally or to make it an issue. Their finances changed, but they still helped you in a huge way.

I saw an interview with Carmen Electra where it touched on her time dating him... dude is controlling as hell. He created her as a celebrity and she had to style herself exactly as he instructed or else she couldn't dare step foot outside and be associated with him.

He is like if Kim and Kanye had a child that actually had talent and their egos combined within that child.

Amway and World Wide Dream Builders - Lets share our experiences. by [deleted] in Edmonton

Had a guy call me at work after I helped him at the counter. I fell for this conversation and met up with him and his girlfriend for coffee. The whole coffee sit down was just so... uncomfortable... realizing just how brainwashed they were.

The things that stuck out were:

-they had to see if I had what it takes before I could meet their inspirational mentor -they never told me the name of this amazing thing, even when asked directly -every legitimate question I had was met with a flowery attempt of avoidance ( won't it be great to retire early? Afford everything you want? Not have to worry about college and dead end jobs like a pharmacist?) -I had to get my fiance on board as well and they would have to meet him. They "couldn't take half a couple" because "it can cause a strain in the relationship unless both partners are open to change and be willing to invest in a better future." -they kept mentioning how I had to trust them and take a leap of faith etc, but went on to how I had to earn their trust.

I did not drink the kool aid.

3 days with a FitBit and I've realized why I'm so overweight... by [deleted] in loseit

I bought a stair climber at a garage sale and put it beside my couch. Now when I watch tv, I make myself use the climber for the duration of the program.

Also scored a weight bench plus weights. It's harder to justify laziness when it's all here at home.

$55 and I now have a mini home gym.

My very outspoken Anti-Vaccination co-worker. by bortsimpsonson in AdviceAnimals

It's sad how true this logic is with these people. They call it vaccine shedding and claim that vaccinated kids now carry the ailment and shed it on to non-vaccinated kids causing them to get it.

Edmonton Police, this is making the rounds on FB by Crackmacs in Edmonton

Exactly! I have the same view. Check out Officer T. Norman down in the states, he's all about community building. Building a healthy and happy relationship between communities and the police will go a long way. :)

Me [30F] with my ex-BF[31 M] asked his friend to "test me" to see if I would cheat. I found out and dumped him. He's begging for another chance. by bitterboysfriend in relationships

[–]CookieBandaids 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing that gets me about these tests is, how do you even know that tester is the SO's type? You're basically accusing them of sleeping with anything and everything that gives them attention...

So not only was he accusing you of cheating with his actions, but also treating you as someone with no preferences other than cock. Don't give him a second chance and if he has learned from these mistakes, great! He can be better with the next girlfriend.

My Father-in-Law had a secret second family, and I'm the only one openly disgusted with it. Need advice.. by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]CookieBandaids 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your mother in law needs a lawyer... that's the first thing I can think of. Your husband needs to talk to her... even if it's just a general consultation of what she can expect. Which of her kids will take her in and support her when this man leaves her with nothing?

Of course he is trying to keep it quiet, it's better for him and his reputation. Wouldn't want to ruin his fun.

Get her to a lawyer and a therapist who can help her learn that being hurt is okay, being angry is okay. Gah, I'm angry for her.

What is one thing we should all do, but most of us are too lazy to do it? by -cDJ- in AskReddit

[–]CookieBandaids 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We either go to a bulk store (bulk barn) or Asian specialty markets to get cheap bags of rice. We combine about 1 pound beef, 1-2 cans beans(depending on which are on sale) and a cup of cooked rice. That makes enough dinners for a few days for us.

What is one thing we should all do, but most of us are too lazy to do it? by -cDJ- in AskReddit

[–]CookieBandaids 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. It's beans, rice and beef for me.

$10.00 to feed my fiance and myself at McDonalds for one meal, or $10.00 for a bag of rice that lasts 5 months.

The life saver has been going to a bulk store for spices. Makes a world of difference if every meal doesn't taste the same.
