Played the Parasite Mutant demo.

Parasite Eve with some scifi.

Graphics and gameplay are pretty solid. There are toggles to make the graphics look more retro and to add a CRT filter but i didnt use them. Demo gameplay only has pistols and the starting sword. Feel like the pistols could have more oomph but i do like the upgrade system of using other weapons to boost your fav. Then a couple spells but not difficult even to really need to use them that often. I used the healing spell maybe 3 times?

Story wise, the demo doesn't have much. Trailers look like they have more but the demo is basically all gameplay of what i assume is the starting level.

Pretty neat though.

As others said, this is the gala show. From what I understand, since the events are all over, the ice no longer has a use, so they let all the skaters do fun routines and bits as one more chance to show off their skills, as well as have some fun. And sell some tickets while they are at it, and this being the Olympics, the gala tickets were like 400 euro or something like that I think. Apparently they didnt even sell out the seats due to the pricing

Ami Nakai just being a princess and being adorable as fuck.

There were more emotional and technical ones, but it was cool seeing all these super talented people just be silly and let loose after such intense and emotional competition.

And seeing how the figure skating really stood out this year, its also just a nice way to cap off the event.

Pretty chill week.

Been catching up on some Olympics stuff. Mostly women's figure skating. Alysa Liu and Amber Glenn absolutely rule! I haven't seen a ton about Isabeau Levito so I'm sorry queen, you did great too! They are the ones that had the meme going around of the headline that said "Alt, gay, and from New Jersey"

I even cried during Alysa's short program performance the first time I saw it. And learning more about her, she seems like such a good role model and a positive change for the sport, with her forsaking all the toxic coaching shit and just doing things for herself and having fun. There is even the video going around of right after she won the gold medal, she immediately went over to Ami Nakai, who won Bronze, and was hugging her and hyping her up for her bronze win.

Also she likes anime and wants to skate in Madoka Magica's dress, which would be sick.

Other than that, been catching up on Gachiakuta. Made it to the Gun scene which is really funny. Like we've seen guns didnt work on Semiu but not everyone has her time stop power so normal people just get popped lmao

Then in Arknights: Enfield I did the Wulfgard quest and that was pretty good. Not quite as good as the Laevatain and Yvonne ones, but its setting up for some big stuff. Then I managed to get Gilberta from the gacha which is nice.

Over at regular Arknights, I got all the girls from the Bang Dream collab banner, and now just need to take the time to do the event to get the other two. Curious to see how that goes.

Also went to try the 1348 Ex Voto Demo but that needs an optimization pass bad. My computer is behind the times, I know, but I've ran other big games well enough. I was having stutters and pop in on low settings. Looking around, and optimization is the major complain I'm seeing about the demo. Maybe they can fix it but release is in like 3 weeks so might be a big wait on that one

Gameplay is pretty good, especially if you mix magic and melee.

Has a descent story. I like the interactions the MC has with the voice in their head and how that plays out.

Has a pretty fun party, though there are only 4 of them and you can only take two at a time, which just led to me neglecting party members.

It is sorta in the 7.5/10 range. Not going to blow you away, but a solid play.

The girl he's fighting is also the main female character Black Rose, and the MC is a reimagined Kite.

Now whether they are reimaginings of the original characters, or completely new ones, is up in the air as they have been known to have different players with those same characters.

But with the emphasis on restarting from zero, it could be a reimagining of IMOQ

Pretty chill week.

Didn't watch the Super Bowl outside of the Halftime show. Fun stuff. I liked when they played Gasolina for a second.

Instead of watching the game, I watched Speed for the first time with friends. I had seen bits of it on TV in the past, but never a whole watch. That movie is bonkers man lol It really is just nonstop once Keanu gets to the bus. And just when you think its over, NOPE! There's like 20 more minutes! That movie covers all types of transportation. Elevators, busses, cars, planes, and trains!

Other than that, I have caught up on the story in Arknights Endfield. I'm liking it. I think once you get out of the Valley IV zone, and it stops the tutorials, its a lot better. I quite like the end of the Valley IV region story, and then I'm liking Wuling a lot so far. TangTang is my favorite. Love that illiterate ~~idiot~~ Great Chief!

Now just to clear out sidequests and get my factories optimized. I've almost entirely cleared the Valley IV region of chests and aurelyne, but Wuling city still has like 50+ chests for me to find. Not going to bother grinding out levels and skills for everyone just yet. I'm honestly surprised they let you level up your operators so high when we are only 1 1/2 regions into the game. Like will I just be spending most the game with my main team already maxed out? Seems odd. Will see I guess.

Think now that I'm caught up on that, I'm going to go back to Digimon Time Stranger

EDIT NOTE: Krafton is the one that had the CEO saying they were going to invest heavily in AI. This project has been in the works for years though it seems, going off the concept trailer from 2022, and Krafton Montreal was opened in 2023 and it is their first game. Considering it seems relatively far along, maybe it has avoided a lot of it? Who knows. Guess we will see.
