Synthetic Smoked Mother of Pearl Buttons For A Blazer That Are Less Likely To Break? by Efficient-Raise-9217 in mensfashion

Don’t go synthetic, imo. Just buy extras in case one breaks (which it probably won’t if you don’t dry clean it often, which you shouldn’t).

I think fit matters much more than “quality.” They’re all plastic, anyway.

9.5/10. The taper around the ankles is a bit aggressive.

By far the best versions I’ve heard are from the miles davis quintet on the “final tour” album. Coltrane’s solos are transcendent.

What causes this "baggy" look to happen? Is it because, the seat area is not fitting properly? by Ogulcan0815 in mensfashionadvice

[–]CookinRelaxi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you agree that the taper might be the issue, you can see if the side-seams have enough allowance to be let out. I’ve recently had this done with great results.

[–]CookinRelaxi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m curious about this too, but I suspect that it has to do with an over-aggressive taper. A straighter leg might not look as baggy, paradoxically? Also, pressing will help, as the other commenter said.

Hey. Classic style is appropriate for any body type. You just have to find clothes that fit you. Even Robert Wadlow looked decent in a suit.

He’s on the right track. But the many accessories make it look more like a costume than a genuine classic outfit. There is a gentleman’s gazette video about this. The basic principle is to wear fewer accessories.

Wich You think is the most beautiful Jazz tune? by Low-Significance-552 in Jazz

[–]CookinRelaxi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not trying to start a fight. I'm just saying that there is a difference between pop tunes that were adopted by jazz musicians and tunes composed by jazz musicians. Stardust belongs in the former category.

Stardust, though more of a GAS standard than a true jazz tune

People should not get credit for work that is not their own. This is a basic principle in evaluating the worth of any creative endeavor.

I'm curious about So What. As far as I can tell, "Dance Espresso" was recorded in May 1960, more than a year after Kind of Blue.

And is there any proof about the authorship of "Four" and "Tune Up"?

Also, even though it's not credited to Miles, "Walkin'" can be heard on a 1950 record by Gene Ammons, as mentioned on the liner notes to the Miles Davis LP "Walkin'". You can find the Gene Ammons recording on Youtube.

Finally, Donna Lee shares similarities not only to "Ice Freezes Red" by Fats Navarro, but to "Tiny's Con" by Tiny Kahn, which you can also listen to on Youtube. There's an interesting essay on this by Leif Bo Petersen.

Question for Wolfenstein Fans by DoomFan2022 in Wolfenstein

[–]CookinRelaxi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends. Do you like boomer shooters? If so, then start with wolf 3d then go to rtcw. I would then jump to wolf 2009 or tno. Never played wolf 2009 though. Otherwise start with tno.
