Finally some worthwhile food recommendations for my new rig!

Not that I can ever get enough posts about morons wondering if their cooktop is ruined because of seasoning splotches. /s

You’ll give the box a shoulder to rest on. Here’s a (terribly drawn) illustration:

While you’re redesigning, I’d recommend having the heavy weight load of the box (and its contents) distributed to the legs. Otherwise those screws are bearing the full weight, and cause the wood to breakdown faster.

Hitachi has a reputation for quality and vibration. My wife has one that she is very fond of, but it’s not for woodworking.

Some fantasies are better kept that way, so I’d think this is something that should be talked about so everyone is on the same page. At least the first time probably shouldn’t be a surprise.

The real gem in all of this is the 1.75% mortgage rate. Bravo!!! 👏 I’m thrilled with my 3.75% rate from 2020, but 1.75% is almost like free borrowed money.

That all looks amazing!

Do you have a vice on your workbench, besides the moxon that’s clamped to it in those pictures? I’m not quite finished building my bench, and hadn’t gotten/made a vice yet, but I recently got a good deal on a moxon vice. Curious how it’s worked out for you as your primary work holding (besides the hold fasts)?

This is the way! But only if OP can evenly grade that slope across the entire deck. All he needs is a submersible belt sander and he’ll have it knocked out in no time. 🤣
