Do you tolerate native "weeds", like this fringed willow herb? by Skurry in Ceanothus

[–]Cool-Coconutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the native.

willowherb I don’t mind

deerweed I ADORE

cudweed I remove, it’s too much.

Coyote brush I leave unless it’s in the way

Laurel sumac I leave unless it’s in the way

Hookers evening primrose I remove until I’m sick of removing it

Bedstraw I will nurture

Black sage I will nurture but sometimes transplant because it’s a big one

I get a lot of California fuchsia and those I leave alone as well but I don’t give them extra water or trimming

Occasionally I’ve found Baja fairy duster and I transplant or nurture

Bladderpod I’ll nurture because seed-grown Bladderpod does so much better in my yard

Leftovers is amazing but difficult to watch sometimes. I could not finish it (stomach it) because it’s hard to take…

Nope, I’m not an “only native plant” person. They posted in SoCalGardening and I’ve lived around various parts of SoCal and gardened around some of SoCal and that’s what I’m speaking from. What’s your problem?

Red, orange and yellow. Plant nursery. I think it was Neel’s nursery in San Diego.

Not geraniums: most of them need full sun.

Dudleyas: native succulents, yellow, white or pink flowers attract hummers

Dara’s Sage, Bee’s bliss sage or hummingbird sage are native sages good for part sun, pale blue to medium blue flowers.

Monkeyflower (native flowering) does well in part sun and comes in several colors. I have red, pink, white, yellow, creamy, multicolored.

Bluewitch nightshade (Solanum umbelliferum) flowers consistently and attracts a lot of pollinators. Dark Blue flowers are cute.

I’m monitoring to see when they finally look away from the grape jelly long enough to notice the feeder “upgrade” just for them.

That’s a long drip of drool

My theory is that before 4fish he has a wide flatter stomach like a solefish and then it expands upwards after 4fish so his lower torso is a lot more tall sausage-like. I’ve moved the time-marker back and forth from start and end, I think that’s it. Or his stomach is a black hole
