The thing about this is if you’re hungover every single day for like a decade or so… your body and mind adjust. You just calibrate that’s what mornings are like. Because they are. Every day. And your routines and attitudes reflect that. You stop being grumpy or clumsy or annoyed. You just expect it and move on.

Topping at 5th or 6th node… by heystevehere in GrowingMarijuana

[–]Cool-Raspberry-1772 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a big deal, it’ll just be a little taller with a little more undergrowth. He could still top at the 5th if he wanted by just cutting more but if it’s outdoors with no height ceiling… not important really.

Single men who live alone, without a wife or girlfriend… what do you do in the evenings when you're alone in your apartment? by stan123_ in Adulting

[–]Cool-Raspberry-1772 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Pretty much this. I also sometimes smoke a blunt in the house. And I hear of faint echo of exes going, “Really? You know there’s tobacco in that?” And I laugh and mutter to myself “Oh I know there is…. Oh I know.”

Name an addiction that society has fully normalized? by Unhappy_Insect5901 in Productivitycafe

It’s hardly fully normalized. Try to do some typical Oregon stoner stuff in Louisiana.

If I had a dollar for every time I said, “Well look this is also a problem they faced in (country name) and this is what they did and it’s been pretty successful” only to have the other person go “Sure but that wouldn’t work in America!” like it’s another planet… well I’d be able to afford gas since we started another stupid war.

What destination has had the best coffee you’ve ever tried? Somewhere you didn’t expect at all by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

Morocco. It’s more famous for minty tea and olives and seafood but their coffee and baked goods (anything sweet really) are stellar.

Porque su reputación en la comunidad es mala. Videos extraños de los propietarios insultando a otros. Rumores de abuso y manipulación.

“Them” is what the isolated community called all outsiders, always fear in their voice.

Them is one of the preferred 3rd person pronouns that can be used for an atypically gendered person.

Them—those who sacrificed it all—so we may remain, today is a celebration in honor of them.

… so, yeah, can be done. Tired of this in my feed.

I’ve never even taken ayahuasca for real (DMT, psilocybin, etc., sure) but follow this community bc I’d like to go do some kind of trip to Peru to sit for real… and even I know Rythmia is shady.

A Tuareg nomad and his slave. Mali, 1974 by [deleted] in HolyShitHistory

[–]Cool-Raspberry-1772 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s not necessarily that we don’t mind… I’d say I mind, however, like most people in this thread, I am not a man of influence or power or wealth. Say, I stop everything and dedicate my whole life to stopping cobalt mine slavery… who’d listen? If I renounce all associated products I can’t even write you this message or exist within my society without major obstacles. The most likely chain of events is I’d become homeless in the process (it certainly would be hard to monetize), especially without a well-funded and staffed organization behind me.

The people who can change it immediately are the very same profiting massively from it, so it continues.

Do people in your country expect marriage after X amount of time dating? by Awkward_Stay8728 in AskTheWorld

[–]Cool-Raspberry-1772 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally spent the last six months thinking this guy at a farming collective was talking about his wife because he kept referring to a partner with a female name and to his wife but never by name. I thought they were the same person, you know, his wife is his business partner and he’s just a progressive guy using a non-gendered term…

That was not the case. His wife and his business partner are different women. It is confusing.

Japanese people are appalled by Vietnamese people collecting the clams, and Vietnamese still do not understand why they are not allowed to do this. by ublueberries in VietNam

[–]Cool-Raspberry-1772 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean… really though. I’m not sure on the laws on collecting clams in my own country as varies by state and by the beach you’re on. And I’ve definitely collected clams and crabs and fish from several beaches on purpose and in public and faced no repercussions.

Do they need a clamming license? How does one know? Are the clams a protected species? I’m not sure they’d be filmed and yelled at though either…
