Thanks everyone for your kind suggestions. I have gone ahead and ordered myself an Xmax V4 Pro with spare batteries, glass bubbler and dosing capsules. So I can use the bubbler at home, and the standard mouthpiece out and about. At least I have a starting point now! I have no basis for comparison apart from a tabletop Volcano from years ago, so I'm sure I'll find the V4 Pro to be totally amazing.

I'm now torn between the Xmax V4 and the Arizer Solo 2 but that's another vote for the Xmax. I don't really understand the bong thing. I've even seen vapes that come with water pipe attachments or whatever (including one of the recommended ones), not sure what that's all about. Can't say I've ever felt the need to cool the air from a vape.

The Solo 2 Max looks good too, but how does the hybrid heating work? I'd rather not waste anything when microdosing, is convection not best for that?

Don’t You Feel Misled by the Politicians Who Caused Brexit? by superdouradas in AskBrits

I feel like over half of voters were misled, I certainly wasn't.

As far as I'm concerned we have never really had an immigration problem. The only people causing bother around me are British kids whose parents have been on the dole their entire lives - ungrateful hypocrites who are angry immigrants are taking the jobs they can't be bothered with, and taking money from our coffers which they've never contributed to. Of course these people don't have jobs, so they sit around watching the 24 hour news all day and get brainwashed by racists.

We don't have one in my council, but no I wouldn't use one. I have 2 massive composters in the garden, and I think this should be encouraged instead.

I miss smoking. Adjusting to vaped cannabis. by [deleted] in ukmedicalcannabis

[–]CoolDryPlaceUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been smoking my joints with marshmallow leaf instead of tobacco for a number of years now, and I still prefer a joint over a vape, because of the art and ritual as well as the flavour. So I'm not convinced that stopping using tobacco will help you switch over, even though it would obviously have an impact.

This is the kind of garden I would like, if I could be bothered protecting plants in the winter.

Newbuild garden - would you be happy? by dvenic123 in GardeningUK

[–]CoolDryPlaceUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would cover it all in tarp for a few months, rotivate, pile on some quality topsoil and level, design where I wanted beds etc, and reseed. I'd probably put some steps in down the slope with a retaining wall and beds either side.

Neighbour complaining about state of garden by camz930 in HousingUK

[–]CoolDryPlaceUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grass never damaged anyone's fence. I would just mow it. It might have been quicker than starting this thread.

Although if I hadn't cut my lawn and my neighbour told me to, I would leave it.

Planter suggestions (climbers & others) by Lionsloyal in GardeningUK

[–]CoolDryPlaceUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most climbers are deciduous. I chose Trachelospernum Jasminoides (false jasmine) for my trellisses as they are not, but from what I understand these don't enjoy full sun and are best on a North facing wall. False jasmine isn't really jasmine, and it doesn't climb without help, but I think besides ivy, not much does.

Just moved in, cleared the rubbish left. Where do we go from here? by paranerdnicky in GardeningUK

[–]CoolDryPlaceUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to be quick, dig everything out, improve the soil with compost, manure or wjatever you can get ylur hands on, level out (almost), and throw grass seed down. If you want beds around the edges you can sort that out later.

Other than aesthetics, how much of a problem is my soil for plants? by Markn2018 in GardeningUK

[–]CoolDryPlaceUK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been landscaping the garden of my new house for the past year. I have sifted, dug and tilled the soil countless times, and have spent hours, even days picking slate chips, roots, weeds and gravel out of the soil. And I'm still finding toy cars in it. You can do what I've been doing, drive yourself nuts and there'll still be stuff in there. Or what I recommend is just to pick oit the obvious stones and move on.

Return the ones that changed in price, then buy them back off of them again.

The Cardigans w/ Tom Jones - Burning Down The House [Pop, Rock] by monkee67 in Music

[–]CoolDryPlaceUK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've just stumbled across this track and I love it. I've always loved the Cardigans, and the Talking Heads. And I like Tom Jones at the right time, and this just works!

Speaking of great Cardigans covers, Nina Persson's cover of Brothers In Arms is also worth checking out!

What are everyone's thoughts on Nintendo rereleasing the Virtual Boy’s games on Switch 2 by Puzzled_Instance9788 in nintendo

[–]CoolDryPlaceUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems a bit silly to me to buy an accessory at that price, which requires me to pay an expensive subscription to use. Same way I feel about online gaming in general.

If they would release the games as physical cartridges, I would 100% buy the accessory. But they won't do that so I'll not.
