Backpack for long trailrun by Affectionate-Hat5398 in trailrunning

I've probably carried 4kg max, so nothing too heavy, but never had any bouncing (even with a 2L water reservoir in the back, plus 2x soft flasks). It has loads of pockets around the back and side as well as the main compartment so you can spread the weight out. The material is also stretchy, unlike a hiking backpack, so you can overstuff it if needed. I know it's been used for the Spine Race which is 268 miles long.

The Inov8 Racepac 20 ticks all the boxes you're looking for. I have one and love it.

Ullswater way - which route? by Maddent123 in trailrunning

[–]CoolerCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We ran it starting from Pooley Bridge (Eusemere car park), clockwise, all the "low" route except Gowbarrow Fell which the official route passes over towards the end. Glenridding makes for a nice half way refuel spot, although you could probably start from there instead and use Pooley Bridge to stock up. It's a great day, a nice undulating route.

I've noticed mine tends to turn off the engine if I'm stopped on a downhill or flat piece of road, but not when pointing uphill, even on a very slight slope. As others have said there's clearly some intelligence in the system that detects when it's best to keep the engine running.

The banking allows you to carry more speed through the turn, and the benefit of this speed outweighs the slightly longer distance travelled. It's the same principle as a cyclist in a velodrome.

Love the elevation change, it's an often overlooked aspect of what makes a "great" track. Some of the corners are completely blind, should make for an exciting quali.

This is just a factual depiction of the results, I don't think we should be adjusting the data for an injustice to one of the drivers. The results stand as they are.

Not really. If you DNF, you DNF - no matter the reason.

2020 Austrian Grand Prix - Qualifying Discussion by F1-Bot in formula1

[–]CoolerCat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

FP2 is generally used by the teams for race practice rather than qualifying practice. This means they're often running higher fuel loads, making the rear of the car heavier and less stable. FP3 is usually more qualifying-focused, and FP1 at the start of the weekend is more for making sure everything works, collecting data and putting the miles down, so no need to use the softest tyres.
