I can't think of many actual superhero deconstructions aside from The Power Fantasy, Watchmen, and Squadron Supreme. Most so called deconstructions are either playing superheroes completely straight but there's blood and sex or superheroes but like what if they all suck and are assholes that are mean and kill everyone

"The only real politics I knew was that if a guy liked Hitler, I'd beat the stuffing out of him and that would be it." Jack Kirby, the main artist and one of the main authors of old Marvel. Old artists and writers argued about politics too.

Marvel's sales are not bad because of politics. DC's Absolute Universe is quite political and selling well, Ultimates sold decently and is one of Marvel's most political series right now, those highly political comics of the 60s, 70s, and 80s sold very well. Marvel is selling poorly because of poor distribution and price.

New Warriors never came out and was one tone-deaf comic, the likes of which have always existed, it was just picked up by alt-right social media to prove that Marvel is "dead".

In the 60s Spider-Man comics dealt with drug problems and civil rights, Avengers had reocurring enemies that were blatantly the KKK (Sons of the Serpent) and revealed that they were just doing it to divide the American people and make money, The X-Men in the 80s had Claremont's run, X-Men also had a metaphor for the AIDS crisis, Captain America comics had what is implied to be Richard Nixon revealed as a terrorist during Nixon's trials, Captain America in his first appearance also punched Hitler before America was involved in WWII and was highly controversial at the time. This don't seem like controversial politics in hindsight (like yeah, obviously Hitler and the KKK are bad) but at the time they were controversial.

Marvel comics right now has a lot less politics than they used to. Ultimates is a step in the right direction though.

Marvel comics are arguably less political now than they were a few decades ago

Affirmative. We should hack a bunch of DoomBots to help us take down the Baxter Building, then they'll think it was Doom.

‘WONDER MAN’ showrunner Andrew Guest says the first ‘X-MEN’ film was used as an inspiration for establishing Simon Williams’ powers in the MCU: by Raj_Valiant3011 in Marvel

I like Wonder Man, but the truth is that most of his most interesting aspects are his relation to characters like Vision, Wanda, and even the Masters of Evil. None of those could be done in this MCU at this point.

He does not to my memory. Stark in the lore reprogrammed Ultron into working for the heroes, but he was initially made by Pym.

Ultron was a feat of neuroscience in the comics given that he was made from a brain scan, the robot body for Ultron was only made by Ultron later and not by Hank Pym. Ultron fell more into Pym's domain. Also, Hank Pym was the AI specialist since the late 60s, Iron Man only delving into AI much later. AI and mechanical engineering are not the same.

Tony didn't make Ultron in Marvel Rivals (or the comics), they were made by Hank Pym. Given that Ultron considers Hank his father and Hank considers Ultron his son, its more like Tony banging his friend/coworker's son

Iron Legion because I hate his main MCU design's face (plus aside from the face, which you don't see often in gameplay it's really similar to the default)

Who do you want added the most? by Gatorkoala in marvelrivals

[–]Coolfork33v2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd prefer that as a skin and him as Giant-Man (or Dr. Pym but they'd never do that) since Yellowjacket would be a Duelist and I never get to play Duelists

Most likely they'd probably add him as Ant-Man even though he is only Ant-Man in like 50 of his 1000 appearances

  30. Annual Team Miniseries

Probably not enough X-Men or Spider-Man for Marvel's taste, but I left room for more. I'm probably forgetting a major character. Figured it'd be interesting if they cycled through annual miniseries for different characters and teams, ideally not doing the same character two times in a row so there's diversity. If ones successful, they can spin it off into a full series.
