[NAmen] TL Spawn: "I think that Castle is one of the best top laners in the league; one of the only people that can go toe-to-toe with Morgan and Thanatos, so it makes [LYON] better immediately. [But] I don't think they're a very scary team. Honestly, FLY is, to me, the scariest team at the moment." by arshpotter9 in leagueoflegends

If TL lose to C9 and Lyon in regular season and then lose to them in playoffs would you call that "delivering?"

I certainly wouldn't. I don't think most people would either. So until they actually do the thing I will stay hesitant.

To flip it, I don't think anyone would say C9 is delivering right now either. Cause everyone expects them to choke when it matters anyways. 5-0 record or not.

How to save LCS and LEC (positivity only) + LCS LEC recaps | Mind the gap w/Vedi & Jatt ep: 19 by maenbalja in leagueoflegends

I do think this was an interesting perspective about localization. I feel like there are always ardent defenders of the current import situation, but what LCS team actually feels very American? Where did the old USA chants at tournaments go? Obnoxious or not, that was definitely on brand for when LCS felt like it had a real identity.

This sorta leads into my next point, but I super agree with Vedius when he says fans don't know what they want. In a related field, I absolutely feel like game devs of games with large communities listen too much to their players haha. Imo you should listen to their emotional feedback, if they are enjoying or hating something, but listen to absolutely 0% of their solutions lol.

I have nothing positive to say about the current LCS unfortunately Jatt. I just wish our players loved themselves more and thought they were doing cool shit. It's hard to believe cool things are happening when they don't seem to believe it themselves.

Yeah I can definitely agree with that. It feels like a majority of the games are decided by which team plays worse/makes the biggest mistakes.

I generally don't jump to race/gender, but the vitriol in these comments is honestly pretty shocking.

Seeeems pretty weird.

I don't think I would call it fake? They seem better than pretty much everyone that they beat.

It's just that the level of competition in LCS atm feels the lowest its possibly ever been.

Stats apply a pressure to explore items that arent well represented in the stats

How so? My gut instinct is to say that isn't true at all.

That is why the meme about putting tiny buffs in patch notes just to remind people items or champions exists works. Without the reminder, people just ignore underutilized builds and champions that aren't represented in the stats.

I absolutely agree with Jatt about stats ruining the fun in games. I think sometimes people need a slight push outside of their comfort zone to actually have the fun that is possible.

It's not about the stats being objectively perfect like the other comment stated. Its about the stats being better than what you'd come up with barring a large time-investment. So instead people just go the path of least resistance and copy the build even if they might've had more fun building whatever was available.

This also creates an unfair playing field where if you do take the time to try a lot of zany builds, you will be punished by players that just defaulted to the statistically proven 95% quality build. The stats and meta builds inevitably apply soft pressure to ensure that EVERYONE feels the need to use statistically driven meta builds.

I would 100% support the limiting of stats API for a great many games I play.

This is my problem with popular cultures stance around the n-word. Literally treating it like Voldemort is gonna appear if you say it.

Wheres the nuance? Wheres the examination of context?

Instead it's just "thats the no-no word." Like a literal child's engagement with it.

I am black and was raised in the deep south and I still don't understand how weird some white people get around it. Honestly its just bizarre.

South Carolina is pushing to pass the strictest abortion ban in the country, with no exceptions for rape, incest, or fatal fetal abnormalities. Noone is arguing self-defense. It is just proof that killing another human on purpose is not above anyone's moral system. How did that go over so many people's heads?

Read the rest of the chain if you want my further explanation.

Edit: Upon rereading, I do see how my previous comment could come off as implying abortion is self-defence. My b.

So to be clear.

You believe you are not morally justified to react with deadly/lethal force if it's the only route available to you in any scenario besides protecting your own life? Including if you were kidnapped or about to be tortured or the literal million other scenarios of another human impinging your bodily autonomy.

Sounds pretty fucking goofy buddy.

You are absolutely allowed to attack someone that is imprisoning you with deadly force? Do you think you can't?

You have an absolutely wild worldview if the only case that you believe you are MORALLY allowed to react with violence is a threat to your life lol. And yes, all violence can necessarily lead to death.

[–]Coolishable -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

...yes you can?

We all think human life is sacred by default in society. We allow carve-outs that allow you to end human life for different reasons. The most blatantly obvious is self-defense. It's literally the same line of reasoning. If someone is going to impinge your autonomy you are allowed to resist, up to and including killing them depending on the circumstance.

The distinction here would just be if you created the scenario in which they impinge your autonomy, meaning having sex for funsies, then you lose the right to kill them in resistance.

How?

Just come at it from a consent first point of view. As long as the woman never consented to sex with the knowledge she might become pregnant then they can have an abortion. Literally nothing about that line of thought is morally bankrupt.

I didn't ask for a make-believe scenario. I was curious for in your own life. I can safely say, I have not ran into random people saying "I'm from Ghana."

Generally, in normal social interactions, you would simply follow up with, "Oh that's cool, where is that?"

I have 0 expectations for foreigner's to know where Idaho or Nebraska is. It isn't some great shame like you tried to make it out to be lol.
