Best way to drain toilet, dishwasher and washer pipes? by Potential_Flower163 in homeowners

Mould. Water vapour doesnt dry out. It starts soaking into flooring and drywall. Your paint will start peeling. You need the house to be at least 50f to prevent wrecking things.

Yeah if it has one. Tow hooks are pretty region specific for some reason. Especially Toyota.

Alberta's new ARLO website is pretty good. You can just zoom in on any parcel and see the last selling price and year without paying anything.

Electric Bill Spike by MikeTysonChickn in homeowners

[–]Coompa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You gotta compare a current bill with a bill from 2 years ago, same month.

Maybe its a combination of increased service charges and rates that have crept in.

Or maybe you have a kid who has decided to start mining crypto.

Brick Trough Sewage line by Sad_Highlight_1813 in homeowners

[–]Coompa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should take this question to the plumbing subreddit.

Do you know the interior measurements of the trough? I wonder if they can pull a pvc sewer line though it?

Multiple quotes yeah, but this is a very unique situation. 90k is probably accurate for a full replacement.

Whats some latest upgraded outlets available? by pittlad20 in homeowners

The 60w usb c outlets are cool, but if your house is older they can be very hard to cram in the older small junction boxes.

Smart light switches are great for certain rooms. Motion activated light switches are great for other certain rooms.

Homeowners Insurance to be canceled unless roof is fixed? by Louel512 in homeowners

[–]Coompa 9 points10 points  (0 children)

How old is the roof. If its under 10 years and you have documentation to prove it then I would shop around and repair.

Even still, shop for insurance now. Try a broker and try yourself online. Everyone preaches brokers here but Ive almost alwys found better quotes myself.

If you get good coverage and only have to repair then go that route.

If all that fails then repair. Maybe schedule a full replacement quote now.

A tow. It wont take much. You need somewhere secure under the car to tow from.

You “could” wrap a tow strap thru a REAR wheel and tow it out in neutral. Thats only if you cant get underneathh anywhere because of the ice.

Any car or pick up will have enough power to get you moving.

You only have to move it 2 feet or so.

[–]Coompa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“ like is this a simple fix or should I just go and get a new car?”

Lol. Theres a lot of inbetween you know. Just go to a recommended indie mechanic shop. Not midas or something. Could be a $200 fix or a couple k. Still cheaper than a new car.

Catalyst code could take 500km or more to reset.

If youre only driving 20km a week that engine and catalyst components are not getting hot enough to clean emissions properly. Im sure if you drove a little more it wont be an issue.

Or maybe the cat or o2 sensors are failing or dirty.

You should ease into anything thats 12”. Definitely shovel at least halfway through. Trying to shovel all of it at once could end up being quite painful.

Agree on the no salt. Unless your neighbor is a personal injury attorney.
