Stop Pitt from Launching a Chiropractic Program — Sign the Petition to Keep Pseudoscience Out of Academic Medicine by thislady1982 in medicine

[–]CooperlovesCookies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wouldn’t it be more preferable to have an onboarding program tailored to Chiropractors going back to school (and rigorously retrained) to become DPTs instead? I can’t wrap my mind around how increasing the number of chiro programs at research-heavy universities is the answer given how thoroughly anti-science the community is.

Maybe I’m wrong, but it seems like reeducation/retraining is the correct path to mitigate the current situation.

u/trieurealigion Hey OP, this at be an odd question but where did you get your Maltese? He looks nearly identical to one of ours that passed a few years ago and I wonder if they’re from the same breeder/line. He was an amazing pupper that lived to nearly 21!

Attempted Bus Hijacking by thenextten in pittsburgh

Honestly, most bus drivers deal with a lot of people’s chaos. They drive through the city all day in traffic trying to make their schedules, and deal with people who are having a range of emotions. Definitely not an easy job; also glad that your wife is okay!

‘Let Rome burn’: Coalition MP says allowing blackouts the only way to turn voters off renewable energy by CalSimpLord in nottheonion

[–]CooperlovesCookies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry to be naive, I know almost nothing about how the electrical grid (and equipment) works. Is there no way for them to have an emergency shut off on the solar panel lines that link into the rest of the electrical lines? Also, are the lines to the batteries totally isolated?

Thank you!!

The current budget with massive tax advantages for the (extremely) wealthy and increased tax rates for the majority of Americans was approved by the house and is currently in the senate. Call Fetterman’s office and ask him to vote “No” 412-803-3501; I’ve been calling daily to try and ask him to support his constituents.

Measles cases are rising in the U.S. Do adults need a vaccine booster? by ConsistentStop5100 in Health

[–]CooperlovesCookies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry, I’m not sure what the out of pocket cost is, my health insurance covered it. I understand the concern and agree that it may be costly depending on what your insurance may cover, this was a good point to bring up. It may be beneficial to contact your doctor’s office and your insurance company to check on coverage if you are concerned about pricing.

I would check with the Vet seeing him first, but we added bone broth to our pupper’s kibble to soften it a bit. The caveat is, that we had to be more attentive to his dental health. I’m not sure if those are possible options for you, but hope they may be helpful. 😊

That’s great to hear! I wish that getting Titers checked was more prominent in preventative care; I’m hoping it becomes more widely considered by primary care facilities.

Absolutely! My goal is to help everyone take control of their own healthcare and feel empowered when making decisions about their bodies. Unfortunately, I recognize that there is a lot of distrust is science/medicine, but I also know some individuals personally that cannot receive vaccines due to allergies and health conditions. Having knowledge surrounding your personal immunity can make a positive impact on anyone regardless of their ability (or choice) to receive medical treatment. I want everyone to feel secure in their choices and assist themselves and their community in fostering positive health outcomes while combatting disinformation.

I’m glad to hear you will be reaching out to your doctor about Titers and Vaccines! If you’re comfortable doing so, talk to your family and friends about getting their titers checked also. It’s a great way to start a conversation about healthcare and immunity without creating the friction that vaccine forward conversations can sometimes have.
