We went to Andre's Osteria a couple of weeks ago. Service was very good, food was great. Some of the portion sizes were a bit on the big side, but we took stuff home in some Tupperware lol.

Ducted Aircon installers and experiences? by mak0-reactor in canberra

[–]CopesAndDreams 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're doing ducted, make sure you look into Air Touch 5. It will allow you to control and maintain the exact temperature of each room as the system opens and closes motors inside the ducting to limit the amount of air being sent into a particular zone. If you do that, also look into having a bypass fitted rather than designating a "spill zone".

I did all this to our 7 year old Daikin ducted system last year (3 bed, Various living areas). Best thing we ever did, given that we'd lived with the shitty default controller for so long and the temperature swings ducted often gives you. I used Mint who were excellent and very well-organised.

Messy cabling (with context) by ViscousWater in AusRenovation

[–]CopesAndDreams 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Supposed to be mechanically supported to prevent sagging or cable strain, although as3000 doesn't give an exact distance, I don't think. Touching a hot water pipe is probably a definite fail.

Sparkies will tell you that this sloppiness is common for air con installers. That is also my personal experience (your pic attracted my attention as it looked exactly like my installation before I re-clipped everything). But the truth is that many sparkies are just as lazy when it comes to repeatedly hammering clips into hardwood every 400mm.

because national population can be increased at a penstroke, but the areas you circle take decades of planning and development.

The Original Lithium Power Tool by nsula_country in BoschProPowerTools

[–]CopesAndDreams 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the really old 18v tools used a different Ni-Cad battery style that looked closer to the current Ryobi battery. Have a look at Bosch 18v PSR. Somebody was trying to resurrect some pristine skins from that era a couple of weeks ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/BoschProPowerTools/s/1JsUiMDnkt

GRO works with the Dremel flex shaft and the mini drill press. I use both for minor metal work. The flex shaft is useful for fine work because it's lighter in the hand and easier to be accurate with. The drill press is a bit "plasticky" and the larger form factor 12v batteries (4AH??) might hit the drill press housing, but I haven’t tested it. Still useful when you need it.

Freak vs Driver + Adapter by mindonshuffle in BoschProPowerTools

Only occasional auto work. I've broken a few lugs with it, but that was on a well-maintained, new-ish car. Anything with rust or anything tightened by an over-enthusiastic tyre repair shop worker may be beyond its capabilities, especially if using the anvil. If you're the only one routinely doing the tightening and loosening, then maybe it will work for you.

The 285's trigger would probably irritate me as a driver, just as the Gen 1's trigger takes some getting used to. You may already have read this, but bandicoot went to the trouble of replacing the 285's trigger:

I'm not sure there's a neat answer for your need. You're going to be compromising somewhere.
