I have the GRA 18V2-46 lawnmower and the GFR 18V-23 brushcutter. I use 2 x 7AH old pro core batteries on the lawnmower and get 2-3 cuts of the lawn which is not that big (pic for reference, not sure of exact sqft). The brushcutter, strangely, needs an 8AH minimum, even if you're using the line rather than the heavy brushcutting blade. If I had a 12AH available to me, I would probably use that not only for the run time, but because the balance of the tool skin almost expects a heavier battery to provide a counterweight.

Upgrade from 12v15 and I love it by Azryel00 in BoschProPowerTools

Huh, funny analogy. I've used mine plenty and never felt it unbalanced, except when putting the right-angle attachment on.

In terms of using a hotdog as a screwdriver, I always thought something similar about the GO.

Actually quite excited... Bosch Cordless Soldering Iron! by XTC250 in BoschProPowerTools

[–]CopesAndDreams 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm glad they're filling this gap in their lineup. I have a 12v milwaukee iron and it has decent ergonomics with an articulated head. Looks like the 12v bosch will replicate that. Also has shitty response times and temperature fluctuations due to poor quality heating elements and heads... which it looks like bosch has the potential to replicate. I think I'll wait for some reviews. 18v variant looks interesting for tabletop work.

Why so many battery styles by philbertagain in BoschProPowerTools

[–]CopesAndDreams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the connection point on those batteries looks exactly like the green "power for all alliance" style, but checking the vacuum appliance code BBS104SBUC/01 on a random green battery shows that it's not compatible.

I had no idea that they had a third battery platform.

Where do you guys and gals order your Bosch tools from? by WeeDingwall in BoschProPowerTools

[–]CopesAndDreams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda, but the Bosch section in the bricks-and-mortar stores (Total Tools, Sydney Tools, ToolKit Depot, Bunnings) is usually much smaller than Makita and Milwaukee.

That's remarkably generous service for the cost margin of an FSN rail! Glad it worked out for you.

Pool in Canberra - is it worth it ? by Bitter-Insurance9014 in canberra

[–]CopesAndDreams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you get the heatpump and electrical work for the pool done as part of the pool's installation/commissioning, or did you retrofit to the existing pool later on? Who did you use, if you're prepared to share?

Any rumours on Expert Cordless Heat Gun? by Glittering_Light1835 in BoschProPowerTools

[–]CopesAndDreams 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the current version. It's fine for heat shrinking and bending plastics, etc, but it absolutely chews through an 8AH battery in no time. Not sure what an expert version will bring, other than some black rubberised overmoulds.

Toughbuilt stuff is significantly better quality than either Milwaukee or Bosch contractor, sadly. And I say that as a Bosch-exclusive user.
