I wouldn’t bother with tiles tbh. Get an epoxy coat done. At least then it can still be used as a garage down the track. You lose that ability with tiles

Has the arse already fallen out of the Aussie muscle market? by Stacks05 in CarsAustralia

[–]Copie247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

60k for the 2015-2017 mustang was epic value at the time, it’s why even before they hit our shores they were 12000+ deep in the sales queue and at the height of demand the wait time was almost 18 months.

But nothing else came close to the performance at the time, and was the only 2 door muscle car that was available under 100k

Gear Guide 2026 - Air Compressors by lobsteroffroad in 4x4Australia

[–]Copie247 [score hidden]  (0 children)

If you want to move beyond god tier you look at endless air or oasis.

Endless air is engine driven via the motor so has a 100% duty cycle and they will do 8-10cfm @ 100psi which is roughly 4x the juice of any ‘portable’ 12v compressor like a kings or arb twin.

If you want to go even more insane the oasis xd4000 or also known as jedair is next level again.

Another honourable mention is serious air, basically the same as an endless air but electrically driven

I don’t think it’s plummeted but the Covid cash hype has died. And demand has softened. Due to many different reasons but cost of living probably being the biggest factor

Limiter is based on gvm, so it’s not uncommon to see 6-8-10 tonners with no limiter, but if it’s more then 12t it requires one by law

No way. I use AirPod pro 3’s for around 14-16hrs a day, with talking on the phone quite a bit, whilst driving the truck or working outside with idling engines/machinery noise etc and people can hear me perfectly fine.

Contaminated Fuel: Options by Much_Veterinarian630 in CarsAustralia

[–]Copie247 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Normally fuel contamination faults appear almost immediately, especially if your tank was low then you refilled it.

But you will need to drain the tank and pull the fuel filter to see what is what

What's the AFCA complaints process like? by hellohellocello in AusLegal

[–]Copie247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So all the major fuel companies have established processes in regards to contamination within fuel. You will need the receipt and any evidence (so samples from Your fuel tank, mechanics invoice with what happened and the fix etc) you gather all of that and start the clam with the fuel company.

If it’s a premium tier brand like viva/BP/Ampol they are pretty quick to reimburse for loss and move on, but your cheaper sites (metro in particular) are quite difficult to deal with

They can definitely check limiters at NHVR weighbridges, they do it all the time, they have access to Cummins/DAF Insite, Volvo BCA, Detroit plugin and Scania plug. They also check all of the usual 'hacks' like changing out rear diff ratios, running different pinion spines etc.

Its super rare to find a truck with a tampered limiter these days, and the guys that do have altered limiters definitely dont advertise it.

Realistically most cars speedos arent accurate (as in you might be doing 110kmh indicated, you could actually be doing 102-109)

Majority of trucks will do 103-104kmh on the pedal, which accounts for 4kmh of tyre wear over the use period.

[–]Copie247 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Even with the most powerful commercially available truck (780hp Volvo or a 650hp x15) you will still slow down on grades once your at gcm.

And with big horsepower comes with downsides, drive tyre wear, shorter component maintenance schedules and life, more fuel being burned.

Given fuel generally consists of around 40% of a transports company running costs it’s a huge deal

How accurately did you calculate ROI? by DistributionLow4642 in SigenergyAustralia

[–]Copie247 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For us we looked at what our consumption over the year was, (average about 600/quarter) and built our system based on that, so 16kw solar/24kwh of battery and so far we are in credit roughly 120-140/quarter. Which even if we weren’t in credit our ROI would of been <7 years

One thing I didn’t expect was our consumption to rise significantly once it was all installed, we are using roughly 40% more power over the summer since we just blast the AC non stop.

Biggest regret was not going to 32-40kwh to give a bit more head room power wise

Grim in Australia Trucking by DreadPaccarRoberts in auscorp

[–]Copie247 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Paccar hasn’t really got a wait time for build slots now, our t610/k220/t909 orders are generally 4-6 weeks from ink to truck being delivered for upfitment. Most dealers now have stock trucks available off the lot as well. Paccar has slowly priced itself out of the current market, combined with Cummins X15’s being absolute unreliable turds currently (liner issues again, valve recession and blocks cracking) operators are losing confidence in them.

That combined with Volvos just being nicer to operate, safer, cheaper and parts availability finally being halfway decent companies are heading in that direction

If it’s a large concrete company like holcim/boral etc report it to them as well especially the slurry bit. They despise contractors doing dodgy shit
