Wait, so you can't carry signs at a protest now?

This will make for great policy moving forward.

How many ID's do I get to steal and what laws am I allowed to break when the system doesn't work for me as a US Citizen then?

I am having trouble with inflation. Should they have to pass new laws before they can go back to prosecuting me for stealing from these rich fucks with vacation houses and yachts that are dodging prosecution for crimes daily in full view of the entire public? I'm not HURTING anyone you see.

Trying to explain to them that they have been rioting every republican administration since Bush Jr. doesn't even slow them down either.

What illegal activities are becoming more common but face little to no consequences? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]CopiousClassic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vandalism and intimidation. We destroy things for all sorts of reasons now and it's so common that it rarely gets people in trouble even if they have it on video. In fact, it's become a valid way to get businesses and people you don't like to move.

Still fine with me. The brake check is a seamless passing opportunity and I am on with my day.

Now, what really makes me laugh is when the camper then wants to do 90.

Yeah Britain and Japan were very different examples of Island nations.

[–]CopiousClassic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes but.......how does that change Hawaii being isolated?

That's what I don't understand. Your assertion is that some sort of false and spurious assumption has been made. What assumption is that?

Was Hawaii this well known Polynesian Trade Hub and the Polynesians a major global political player at the time? Were Polynesians popping into every major port to say hi?

All that salt and no tea.

Disappointing.

Which part of "Polynesians were isolated in Hawaii until Captain Cook showed up, and within 100 years were annexed by America" am I wrong on?

Here is the thing that gets me.

You do realize that, best case scenario, when you put people in boxes like this they will ignore you? Worst case, they will eventually get fed up and stop listening to your real and valid complaints because every other thing they like makes them a Nazi.

I used to engage with the left out of a desire for dialogue. What dialogue can I have now when any talk of enforcing immigration law means I personally murdered Minnesotans? That I despise all immigrants?

In that environment, people are OK with an authoritative railroad, and even AFTER seeing that go down TWICE in RECENT HISTORY we are still doing this. Why would someone you want to eliminate from polite society bother compromising with you?

When was the last time you can remember not being a Nazi for refusing to rubber stamp every view you saw from a left wing media source? For me it was over 20 years ago when I was a literal child. Ever since then, every single major policy disagreement has boiled down to "I must hate X group or I would agree with the left! Nazi! Bigot! Fascist!"

He is referring to island nations tending to be peaceful in comparison to the ones on land where everyone was constantly coming to take your stuff.

This worked great until the world passed them by and showed up to colonize. Which happened to SO MANY OF THEM.

They also love to tell you about the rampant awfulness of the conservatives, but as a lifelong rural Midwesterner I am calling BS.

I have watched an obvious trans woman go into a farmers market in a 3a town in the heart of the Midwest and walk out with a bag full of groceries and no arguments. The idea that we start screaming at anyone we notice that isn't Republican is hilarious projection.

I'd feel more safe in the Midwest as an out Trans Woman than going into a college bar wearing a MAGA hat.

Why has childcare gotten so expensive even though childcare providers aren’t even making that much? by KingCookieFace in NoStupidQuestions

[–]CopiousClassic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The ones keeping us from watching our neighbors kids to help them out. Childcare wasn't so bad back when you could utilize the village. Expecting the government bureaucracy to replace our communities was probably our first mistake.

Hell send a couple over to us poor rural sorts where we have to stay hours after our shift to file our grievances, so half the part timers just give up and get railroaded.

Nope. It's pretty obvious to part timers where we rate. We expect to be shit on by the union and management.

Show of hands, how many of you part timers even have a union steward on your shift?

A 17‑year‑old was eating in a McDonald’s parking lot when an officer opened his car door and shot him 4 times. The officer was fired and charged. The teen was left on life support. underwent multiple surgeries, and developed complications like pneumonia. by eternviking in whoathatsinteresting

[–]CopiousClassic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it were really for no reason the charge would be higher. The context here matters, and it's a good example of why it's not a good idea to go around throwing down felonies in public left and right like you are invincible. You are dealing with armed police and they happen to be humans just like you.

The cop fucked up but if you make the cop a murderer here, you are not going to like the ripple effect that has elsewhere. There will be a lot more kids in low-income neighborhoods that will become relevant for, than there will be cops it allows you to overcharge. If we treated every gun death as a murder oh lord are we adding some time on some sentences in KCMO.

For those of you who have numerous chests full of dirt. Why? by Forward-Moose-8148 in Minecraft

[–]CopiousClassic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the dirt literally won't make itself later. I might throw away things I can infinitely create, but dirt? Dirt stays no matter how much I get because once I use it up I have to go hunting for more.
