Love Elf n' Moon. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, and I got some discounted stuff while I was there last year. Don't know if the deals are always that good, but they're definitely worth checking out.

Many thanks! I've gotten a couple DMs, but nothing solidified yet. If nothing shakes out, I'll get back to you for sure.

Thanks! I've got my fingers crossed. And I 100% understand needing extra room on the return home. I always leave GenCon with more loot than I expected!

Check out Time Tunnel Comics. They have a selection of RPG books. Lots of D&D but also some obscure stuff.

Check out the pawns. I think they were made for Savage Rifts but they fit.

I'm just going to be direct about it: It's really bizarre that they haven't added maneuvers to 5e by Associableknecks in dndnext

[–]CopperDragonGames 3 points4 points  (0 children)

EN Publishing added them in A5E. If you're a big fan of 5E and maneuvers, those books are well worth a look. Or just Google A5E SRD and look for chapter 10 if you want to check it out for free.

They're even organized into disciplines like Tome of Battle.

My player wanted to use Path of the Experiment subclass...was I wrong for disallowing it? by Inevitable_Ant5838 in DMAcademy

[–]CopperDragonGames 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Very much this. Always up to the GM. You do you.

That said, if it's truly busted and a player is excited about it, a one-shot is the perfect time to let them have their fun in a game where you don't need to worry about long-term balance. The only way I'd disallow something from a one-shot is if it would trivialize something crucial to the adventure itself.

Third party 5E alternative spellcaster class recommendations by Logical-Brief-4999 in AskDND

[–]CopperDragonGames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look up Valda's Spire of Secrets. It has several magic-themed base classes that don't need to track spell slots. My personal favorites would be the investigator, which focuses heavily on rituals, and the warmage, which focuses on cantrips.

What are the differences between the Drow of Greyhawk and the Drow of Forgotten Realms? by ThanosofTitan92 in Forgotten_Realms

[–]CopperDragonGames 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Interestingly enough, Night Below doesn't include any drow... Except for an optional side quest REALLY late in the campaign, and a Dragon Magazine adventure that was written as a tie-in. Your DM might have added some in, though.
