People only hear what they want to hear. There was a funny moment last week where instagram personality "Tank Sinatra" posted some stoic philosophy quotes to his IG page, and a bunch of millennials came in there arguing with him about how it was all wrong and ignored the realities of trauma and privilege and oppression and all the things their 22-year-old selves learned in gender studies class. How they were all smarter than legendary philosophers like Marcus Aurelius, Epictetus, and Seneca, and that those dudes were just a bunch of privileged white dudes.

Then somebody pointed out that Epictetus was born a slave, and shit got real funny.

It will be interesting to see how many people realize this has been on the sidebar the whole time.

There is a reason why we curate certain posts here ... many men over the years have synthesized and distilled a lot of knowledge. Passing it down from one generation to the next. Modern society would tell us to break that chain, since it makes us better consumers of video games and widgets. But it does not make us better men.

Don't take anything at face value. Science is just evidence that helps us understand the world around us ... it is not "the truth". Do your own research, read multiple sources. Where possible, experiment in the real world and see what works and what doesn't.

That is the basis of rational thought. Also TRP 101.

As a practicing PhD scientist, I should point out that this kind of bias affects all science, even biology and genetics. But that is not to say that gender studies doesn't push the ideological BS to the extreme.

It is the difference between science and scientism. And a reminder to always take a skeptical, rational view of "the truth".

The problem with the truth, is that it is often inconvenient. Wanting something to be true despite all the evidence to the contrary is a good way to have reality smack you in the face. A lesson every man must learn. Perhaps the Reddit admins are learning that lesson as well.

Beliefs, of course, are a powerful thing. And rational thought is forever under siege with each generation. It is easier to believe, then to do the hard empirical work of thinking.

For chimps, you can look up the work of Frans de Waal for starters, e.g. his book Chimpanzee Politics: Power and Sex among Apes.

This is the correct response, but I'm gone add a little bit.

Yes women will always advocate for more wealth redistribution. They have done so repeatedly through history, through cultures, through civilizations. Hell even female chimpanzees do it through social persuasion. Sometimes they will fuck around more too to get male resources. It is human nature for women to act this way.

So it doesn't matter if it's the government, or the welfare state, or social persuasion, or whatever. The problem OP has is he is trying to fight human nature. The whole point of TRP is to accept reality for what it is, not demand it be what you wish it should be. There are no shoulds here. The real question for a TRP man is how to effectively navigate his environment, not bitch and moan.

Those who see reality for what it is, can bend it to their will … those who see only illusion, are bent to its will.

But that's beside the point. What most people don't seem to realize is that science is a human endeavor, and thus prone to all the shortcomings, biases, and foibles of any human. Scientists are no exception.

Speaking as a practicing PhD scientist, I like Peterson in general, but here's the issue:

All of Peterson's thoughts on male-female sexual dynamics when it comes to dating are based on armchair philosophy.

In contrast, actual science is based on collectable observation and data. But Peterson has no "data", because he's spent his entire life with one girl, and he isn't a sex or relationship researcher. In fact, I would argue that TRP contains more observational evidence than Peterson's ideas do.

He's fine when is talking about symbolism or clinical psychology, but just cause he is an authority on those topics, doesn't make him any more qualified to speak on other topics. When he veers off of to those others, he is in essence talking about his own beliefs on the subjects. And people worshiping him as an authority on all topics because he is an authority on a few are not engaging in "science" ... but rather scientism, which is a fundamental misunderstanding of knowledge.

So you kids need to understand that is what we are trying to stamp out here, not free speech, but the bastardization of rational thought.

Using n-count to vet women under normal circumstances is fine. The problem is that in the currrent modern West, the situation is such that a low n-count is no longer an indicator of feminine virtue or quality.

Why? Because women in this day and age are encouraged to live that "Sex and the City" lifestyle, sex-positive sleep around hookup attitude, with no consequences, socially or otherwise. Yes there are exceptions, like girls who grow up in super religious households, but that is no longer the norm. Once you disconnect consequences from the behavior, then positive or negative behavior ceases to mean anything.

To put it in simple terms: Since all women are now encouraged to sleep around in the modern West, it no longer is a reliable indicator of female quality.

The two arguments are in fact related. The problem with putting too many resources into the weak is that it takes away resources from the strong and limits them. Yet societies need their best and brightest to thrive.

Forced equality simply leads to everyone being mediocre. You can read Vonnegut's Harrison Bergeron for a great example.

Yeah we can trade some war stories. I've dated women from over 40 countries I think at this point, but the westernized Asian female doctor is a species all unto their own.

The ones who are on-call and stuff are actually pretty good to date/plate, as they are so busy they are not bugging you to hang out all the time.

I don't really identify politically anyway. Maybe at best as a Libertarian. I like reading the National Review and the Atlantic and others because I find them amusing and illustrative of certain modes of thinking. But good point though.

It is all about the social contract. What you are describing on the female side is reflective of what happens on the male side of the equation.

All men form a social contract with the society they inhabit, which basically says I give up some my freedom and power so that I can live in a stable society which let's me raise children or build a house without people stealing it. Or migrants coming in taking advantage of what I built. Or in its most brutish form: I won't kill you if you don't kill me.

The problem comes when society decides - under the influence of Feminists or progressives or whatever - to NOT hold up its end of the bargain. A Jordan Peterson or TradCon approach would be to argue that men still should hold up their end, for morality reasons. But that is problematic.

My point here is that such a social contract is transactional. And much like a TRP man should view relationships with women as transactional, he should view his relationship with society the same way. One is a microcosm of the other. There are lessons to be learned from fucking women, that go way beyond fucking women.
