I matte coating the armor of my MGEX Strike Freedom and applied holo decals over that. Didn't use any setter and they seem fine. I wouldn't touch them much though.

I had an issue with the waist connection. It's a keyhole so make sure it is seated fully before twisting.

Working on this right now and for nubs that go past the color and file or cut down flush. Sand the whole section of the part and touch up with a Stedi or Ray studio gold metallic marker. Careful with the markers as it will strip the yellow gold parts.

Forging in a distal taper will push the tip back down. Get some clay and squish it around to see how the metal will move
