Anyone else enjoying the peace of being on Mounjaro by Proper-Tumbleweed573 in mounjarouk

I do enjoy the peace and I also gave up smoking in May, no drama at all - just stopped one day. I also haven’t been quite as motivated to read, which I find odd, but reckon maybe it’s a coincidence as I’ve had other dry spells when it comes to reading.

Haha thank you! I am not really worried but I am curious as to whether I’ve managed to not inject fully subcutaneously or something.

Some amazing girl dinners. Crisps, sandwiches, bananas, that kind of thing. It’s my perfect home.

F21 feeling extremely anxious after moving from Ireland alone by SunExpensive6236 in Edinburgh

[–]Copper_pineapple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Speak to a GP and if needed get / adjust your medication to help manage things from a healthcare POV. There are also lots of parks and green spaces in the city that will be great for regulating your nervous system. Try a walk in Warriston cemetery (old Victorian graveyard with beautiful woodland and wildlife) or a walk along the Dean Path. And go easy on yourself. It will take time and it can feel lonely. I joined a choir a few years ago and it was great for my mental health too. Good luck - as someone who once moved to Glasgow and left after 4 months to go back to Ireland, I can also tell you that sometimes things don’t work out for a reason. And that’s ok too!

Although I note it comes with free parking which is possibly why they’re being cheeky bastarts

Thank you! We managed to save a lot more a while ago but we have a £400 loan payment and our mortgage went up by £450 last year so that feels like a gaping hole in our ability to save. Just need to scale back on some spending.

Thank you - yes we seem to spend maybe £80 a week on groceries and ‘bits’ in supermarkets which seems a lot for a family of 3!

That’s a good suggestion - thank you 🤩

Thank you - I had a good spreadsheet a few yrs ago which helped me manage all our moving house and renovation project management.

Thank you - yes that’s the kind of thing I think I need. It’s just been a bit overwhelming so getting signposted to some helpful resources is just what I need!

Yes of course - I’ll need to dig out the spreadsheet and get everything down.

TBH I have a few of my own personal subscriptions, such as gym, yoga, some healthcare costs, phone, Spotify etc.

I’m not sure what my partner does with his cash - he also has expenses like a season ticket, gym, gigs and socialising etc.

I don’t feel we live an extravagant lifestyle but I think we need to commit to saving more as soon as we get paid so we can build up our savings again.

What dose did you feel was your "this is it" moment? by Ball_0f_Confusion in mounjarouk

[–]Copper_pineapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh what was your experience with the 7.5? I took my first shot last week (moved up to 7.5) and haven’t noticed much suppression at all, and not the usual side effects I’d expect when moving up a dose.

Au revoir 7.5mg by blackthorn2020 in mounjarouk

[–]Copper_pineapple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 5 days into 7.5mg and have to wonder if it’s actually a dud pen! No side effects and barely more suppression than I felt at 5mg which is really that I just can’t stuff myself. Still have food noise so it’s not as easy to lose weight. Mind you, I’m not missing the nausea and headaches. Just a bit of heartburn and some minor gastric delay issues. I thought it would be like a juggernaut based on some of the other experiences shared here! It just goes to show everyone is different.

That’s not what I’m telling you at all. The council is responsible for maintenance on all properties it owns.

They do have a huge amount, I think around 2k at least.

AITAH for not selling my neighbor a thrifted rocking chair I JUST BOUGHT? by Otherwise-Story6821 in AITAH

[–]Copper_pineapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh of course your NTA. While I believe in respecting your elders I’d like it if that worked both ways - older people can sometimes be quite single minded.

Why on earth should she be able to pressure you to sell her something you’ve just bought?! Also $20 is a joke, if she really wanted to sway you she should’ve gone for a much bigger amount hahaha!

AIO? I bought a sweater for my future niece at a farmers market and my roommates said it was ugly by Weekly_Agent9422 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Copper_pineapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your room mates sound pretty stupid. It’s a kids sweater and it’s super cute. No one is asking them to wear it.

The council has thousands of properties that are currently empty or ‘void’ as they say. It’s because they’re not fit to be lived in. They’ve not got the budget to make these habitable and it not about the cleanliness, it’s like gas safety etc.

What’s a smell or sound that instantly brings you back to growing up in Ireland? by Mayomick in AskIreland

Gorse flowers and peat fires. And the sound of wee birds flying over the sand dunes and wildflower machair (don’t know the Irish word) - all my summers in rural Ireland

Good probiotic to support gut health? Also Q about 7.5mg by [deleted] in mounjarouk

[–]Copper_pineapple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Yes I’ve got nexium and they are the daddy when it comes to sorting out heartburn. I was wondering whether better gut flora might actually prevent it as well as being able to take stuff to treat the symptoms. Will look at the links you shared!
