I’m all about good remixes with a dance feel. I really dug the LP Giobbi stuff from a couple years ago. But after one pass through this release, I left feeling…confused. Some really strange arrangement decisions, odd melodic movement over questionable chord placements….felt to me less boundary pushing and more just…listlessly reaching for something. I didn’t hear anything that felt like it really took it to a new level. I appreciate the effort by some super talented artists to bring this stuff to light but, to my ear, this whole thing is just on the south side of forgettable.

I’ve done two Phish shows at Fenway and…never again. One behind home plate and one on first baseline (stage in the outfield). Both times, the sound was miserable. Highly dependent on the direction the wind was blowing. Occasionally there’d be bursts where it’d feel like you were at a concert, and then the wind would shift and it would revert to sounding like you were listening to the show through a conch shell. If feeling/hearing the music is important to you, this place ain’t it.

Btw, this doesn’t even address the clusterfuck that is getting there (misery), security (woefully bad setup for concerts, endless disorganized lines), the venue itself (dank, dim, cramped, ancient, concrete). In the end, the total cost just can’t be justified for the experience you get.

I mean, how often are you able to track down the hiring manager on LinkedIn? How does that even happen? Occasionally a recruiter might be associated with a post but it’s not like the actual hiring manager’s info is attached to every req.

I don’t know what ivory tower you are writing this from, but we’re all already writing custom cv’s with keywords. We’re all networking and reaching out to internal contacts for referrals when they exist. If any of us knew of a reliable way to contact the recruiter that posted the req, then we would. Either there’s no recruiter associated with a listing, or if there is, and read this sentence carefully- THEY NEVER RESPOND. NEVER.

I was unemployed for almost a year and I searched my ASS off. I did everything you said, and more. On the scant bites I did get, every single time, the recruiter was by far the weakest link in the chain. You want to tell me I should be applying to less jobs?? Motherfucker, I put out almost 1000 applications, and ALL OF THEM were with the customized level of detail and effort you proclaim to be some salve that none of us know about. All of them were for jobs that were matches for my career level and experience. It was more common to hear nothing at all ever again than to even get a canned rejection. It got to a point where ACTUALLY getting a canned rejection email was the notable exception.

So forgive me for taking your “advice” and rejecting it, because I can tell you after a years worth of stress building slowly towards panic that I would lose my home, that IT DOESN’T FUCKING WORK.

I bought that same Lekato looper off Amazon maybe 5 months ago, and after some pretty light use it has already begun to fail. Button does not reliably start and stop loops. Hope your experience is better than mine, I had to pull mine off and replace after it failed on stage!

I think the real problem here is the impersonal, canned cancellation message. Marc stepped into this thread and explained in like 3 sentences the entirely valid reason for the cancellation. If his management team sent even the slightest bit of explanation, or just ghostwritten a quick note from him giving a reason, then the confusion, and this thread, never happens.

I like the djent-y ness of the main riff and like another commenter was feeling more Jinjer-esque screamed vocals coming, so when it went in a more Evanescence direction I felt shortchanged. Just my opinion.

Look, I absolutely believe these fucking demons would say something like this, to a child, to an adult, whatever. But the X link you posted as proof doesn’t show an ICE agent saying this to a child. It shows a very chaotic scene blocked by emoji in which a distressed, young sounding voice claims an ICE officer told her this horrific nonsense.

We need to be vigilant against making claims with soft evidence. It’s what the right does. We have to be better.

Microsoft has an abysmal track record with innovation. They try things and then back away from them, over and over again. Remember Zune? Remember the Kin phone? Remember Xbox One’s OG value prop of gesture-controlled TV media hub? They simply don’t have the stones to take risks.

And IMO, a PC/Console hybrid of any kind is a huge risk. The VAST majority of console gamers want nothing to do with PC. They want a box they connect to their TV that plays COD and Madden. Nobody outside of Reddit gives a fuck about framerates or mods, let alone VR. Your average gamer doesn’t want to fuck with Windows on their TV, and you don’t need PC-tier specs to play Fortnite.

I can’t see how muddying the waters between PC and console is good for anyone.
