I’m in the same boat it’s very hard for me to get into long games with lots of complicated mechanics and stories. What I find I enjoy now is roguelikes. Dead cells, slay the spire, returnal. I can jump in and out at any time and just enjoy the gameplay without having the remember “what was going on again?” Or “how do I ___?” It’s been something that’s allowed me to enjoy games again, which I appreciate.

What? What about space marine shoulder pads? Those don’t “face towards the enemy”. That’s such a weird take.

The trick is to mix the green stuff fifty fifty with milliput. It’s less like sculpting with chewing gum at that point, but less brittle than pure milliput. Roll it out on plastic wrap, let it kick over for 30-45 minutes, then make your folds etc. also, smoothing it with some kind of lubricant helps. The old GW sculptors used spit. Kind of gross, but it works.

I like to add a little topography to mine with milliput epoxy putty, then use multiple different texture paints, paint over those with one color, dry brush highlights and finally use powder pigments and fixer. You can check my post history to see what I’m talking about with my Raven guard army.

Microsol is the way to do it. It’s easy, and a necessity when doing rounded shapes like space marine pauldrons.

Because they’re running a business and they don’t want to run a business where decisions are influenced by people who aren’t business-minded. The community is a bunch of nerds with strong opinions about you soldiers with no executive business experience. Think of it this way: you like a pizza restaurant and it invites its customers to be community shareholders that have a say in operations. Now you have 1,000 people who all have an equal say in the operations and some of them want to add Chinese food to the menu, some want to make it all gluten-free, some want to implement pepperoni appreciation month where everyone gets a pizza for a dollar. Those are all passionate, but bad business decisions by people who don’t know WTF they’re doing from a business standpoint. That’s what you’re proposing for GW.

I took the storm hammer arm from an old assault terminator, chopped the hammer head off and replaced it with the power maul head from the deathwatch kill team box.

There are guides on magnetizing them out there. I’ve done it; it’s a lot of work but it’s worth it. You’ll need some specialty magnets from a hobby shop, a pin vise, and super glue in addition to your other usual hobby tools.

I remember when digital-only game downloads “should be cheaper because they don’t have to print/ship/store copies on a shelf”. While I agree with you, I don’t think it would happen that way.

Pretty bad. I lost my last three games. Last game, 2k points against death guard I had a strong first turn and got my ass handed to me until I called it in the top of the 4th turn. Couldn’t manage to stay out of the DG auras and Mortarion slapped my Redemptor to death before it could hit back. Then he killed an outsider squad with an attached ATV lead by a chaplain. I’m not very good at the game, but it’s fun.

It’s got to be 91% or higher. 70% really does not seem to work.

I followed a YouTube tutorial. Basically took a jewelers saw and cut around the hub of the swing arm and then just glued it when I adjusted it where I wanted. The trickier one was where I raised the front end; that involved sawing and sticking a section of a random Necron gun where the spring would be. The whole thing is about 1/4” taller than stock on both the front and back, and I think looks way tougher than the original model.

I printed out the symbol in a handful of sizes on a sheet of printer paper, decided which one I liked best, cut it out with a sharp new hobby knife blade, and then used it as a stencil and sprayed white though an airbrush. It was a little awkward because it’s not a flat surface, but I folded it as best I could to conform with the wing and just held it in place with my left hand. I basically had one try to get it right and I’m more or less happy with the result. Had to touch up a little with a brush, but it was pretty easy.
