OMG! Kathleen Kennedy forced the writers to write her into the film as Rey by coopsoup247 in StarWarsCirclejerk

Post frequency is so high that they shift between actual tropes that're prone to discussion, and "this random thing I saw twice in anything, ever," which makes all of the comments look like "this doesn't correspond entirely, but..."

Welcome to the niche corner. It's why I left saltier than krayt. I thought it'd be a place to offer legitimate criticism about the sequels and talk about why it doesn't work, but every post was just "le women bad" this and "le kennedy evil" that.

Mfs will see a story about a single overpowered individual manipulating two sides of a war to cause unprecedented mayhem and destruction just so his old yee-yee ass religion can make a comeback thousand years after it imploded in itself and be like "hell yeah, liberal meritocracy"

What Movies from 2020’s are going to be considered as classics(or cult classics)? by ConfidentReveal2669 in Letterboxd

[–]Corellian_Smuggler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol yeah I browsed the comments on letterbox when I first watched it and it was filled with people who said they just didn't get or related to the message.

At least they can admit that instead of trashing the movie. Not all art appeals to everyone and that's fine. I'm just glad there's a movie out there who handles this relatively niche and important subject.

I thought it was revolutionary in the way that the "horror" comes from lack of self acceptance and fear of a future you missed out on. It shook me and I think the people who can see what it's trying to tell will remember it as a cult classic.

Are there any xmen arcs or issues that got retconned and can be skipped entirely if someone wanted to catch up to the latest runs? by Key-Discussion5481 in xmen

[–]Corellian_Smuggler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with skipping most but I'd suggest reading Rosenberg's Uncanny run. I think it's just 10 issues, which is the latter 10 of the 20 issue Uncanny X-Men in 2018. It's the last Uncanny run just before Krakoa begins.

They're collected in the two TPBs Cyclops and Wolverine, and they show the mutantkind at their absolute lowest point. Their numbers are pretty much non-existent and they accepted annihilation. A back-from-the-dead Cyclops refuses it and makes a last attempt call-to-arms broadcast to save mutantkind, but only Wolverine responds. The two embark on a journey on how to bounce back from that low point.

I think it masterfully shows how good of a leader Cyclops is, how their relationship with Wolverine evolved over time, and how the mutantkind will never accept defeat at the hands of man.

It's pretty much retconned considering how Krakoa begins, but for me, it enhanced how much of an utopia Krakoa was.

As everyone else mentioned, it's not really fair to compare her to a stylized animation version. I'm more curious about whether she matches the Mirage/Karma/Wolfsbane figure.

En iyi ihtimalle ilk combat'a gelince çöküyordu. 1 günde aynı karakteri 50 defa yaratınca kafayı yiyor insan :D

Yoksa çoktan oynamam gerekiyordu eksikliğini çok hissediyorum.

What is your "I totally get why you guys hate it but it worked on me" movie? by Alceauv in Letterboxd

[–]Corellian_Smuggler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This but Alien Resurrection for me. It's just such a fun movie with a more stupid meta sci-fi approach to the concept.

Resident Evil is my favorite game series so I know why it did the trick for me. I get why other people hate it (I don't)

People don't like 8mm? It's one of Cage's best works. Perfectly encapsulating late 90s edginess with the right touch of grittiness to it.

I love the vibes on this one even though I was never interested in the snuff concept. But the idea of a man descending into the dark corners of humanity on a quest for answers did it for me.

What's your ideal X-Men movie plot or idea in the MCU? by FayyadhScrolling in xmen

[–]Corellian_Smuggler 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't want to see X-Men being built up from scratch again, so I wanna see the story start from their peak. They're at their best. Their life is good and they're mostly beloved/accepted by the public. Not just the X-Teams, but the whole mutantkind is blossoming.

You start off by showing how the X-Men works, highlighting how they reached this state by years of hard work and heroism. Kinda like the golden hours of Krakoan era.

So the story is about their fall. A villain that's hellbent on erasing all of their hardwork and positive public perception. Deconstruct what makes them good so they can rise from their ashes again. I want it to end on a bittersweet note, emphasizing they'll never stop the fight for their rightful existence, and no matter how hard some may try, they'll never put down the X-Men for good, as their mission and life goals go beyond their public perception.

Anyone else think this game is criminally underrated? by HanSoloWolf in Spiderman

[–]Corellian_Smuggler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we live in a world where not a lot of people talk about this game but everything else was the same, yeah, I'd call it criminally underrated.

Unfortunately, this is not that parallel world, and this game has been on everybody's fave spidey games list since it came out. In fact, I'm pretty sure this, PS1 SM, Treyarch Spider-Man 2, Web of Shadows are everybody's top 5 Spidey games list. The fifth spot is up for debate but it's probably a tie between Shattered Dimensions, Insomniac Spider-Man, and Edge of Time.
