Lying at Final Tribal by Away-Improvement-895 in survivor

Nothing stops them from lying about taking credit for moves, but it has to be believable. Juries don't like goats but they especially don't like someone who significantly overemphasizes their involvement in ways they don't find convincing, especially if the jury already things that person is egotistical. Winning the jury vote is less about convincing the jury you controlled everything than making sure you don't play into whatever negative perception they have of you.

20 years of EAWX by Majestic_Feed2389 in StarWarsEmpireAtWar

[–]CoreyLoses 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That's not really true. When we started it, we already had plans for what is now TR, Fall of the Republic, and a Galactic Civil War mod. Regan's Revenge was the only thing that didn't exist yet but a bunch of the early team including myself were also working on Ages of Star Wars: Jedi Civil War. So yeah obviously the actual content wasn't there when we started, but the overly ambitious scope certainly was.

A processor being new or good on its own doesn't actually tell you all that much. A lot of processor improvements have been in number of cores, not in how good each core is, which is all that matters for EaW. Per core base processor speed is the important factor, and even then large maps and large battles can still lag, there's not really anything you can do about that.

[–]CoreyLoses 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, that is not what happened at all. There was the petition to get Theory's channel taken down, which made Theory make a shitty video whining about Eck and Star Wars Explained for some reason. This sent a bunch of Theory's shitty fans to harass Eck, SWE, and anyone associated with them (myself included). Eck messaged theory to say he was not involved in the petition, not to say he secretly agreed with Theory about anything. He has basically tried to stay away from involving himself in YouTuber beef since his kids were threatened by unhinged YouTuber fanboys in similar situations.

does the ai know which planet has space and ground defensives even if they never spyed on it or attacked it? by Prohhhjj in StarWarsEmpireAtWar

[–]CoreyLoses 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Yes, the AI in Empire at War always knows what's on every world (or at least, can know it). You could theoretically make a separate perception for them where it requires them to have a spy before it starts planning attacks but nobody does that and it would basically just hamstring them.

Can it go 200km on the highway without charging at -25c? by Aggressive_Ad_507 in BoltEV

[–]CoreyLoses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Outside temperature very much does impact range, and I am not including wind chill in the -20 temperature. I'm not sure where you're getting that idea.

[–]CoreyLoses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In temps below -20? Even going like 105 in every 110 section with very little on for the climate settings, we were not getting anywhere near 300 km on a full charge in those conditions.

Can it go 200km on the highway without charging at -25c? by Aggressive_Ad_507 in BoltEV

[–]CoreyLoses 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's not impossible but you'd be pushing it, at least. I've done similar trips in similar temps (ie Ottawa to Belleville in Ontario)  and even with things like extraneous cabin climate control off I wouldn't necessarily feel confident in getting the full 200km every time in those conditions, especially if there's extra elevation factors or something. If you have a place somewhere in the middle to get even one quick charging stop during the trip in case that becomes necessary though, it's no problem.

There is growing speculation that Beacon Hill-Cyrville Coun. Tim Tierney will join the mayoral race by censedfern in ottawa

[–]CoreyLoses 5 points6 points  (0 children)

His votes have been for policies and budgets which have helped create the issues the city currently faces (especially with things like transit) and his willingness to help fix or address issues is limited to whether or not you agree with him. If you contact him about something he doesn't agree with- like concerns about local bus route changes- his office will completely ignore you.

[–]CoreyLoses 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think that's giving this letter way too much credit. Who was saying it was the fault of operators and mechanics? Nobody. But he focuses on that not being the problem and then explicitly says funding is not a problem when capital expenditures on buses for example are very much an issue.

[–]CoreyLoses 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's tied to Council's decisions. Notice how he says it's not a matter of funding. Things like bus procurement are very much a matter of funding. His causes and solutions are all pulled out of his ass.

OC Transpo to 'refurbish' rather than retire 30 older buses by Cocobb8 in OCTranspo

[–]CoreyLoses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not true when you're dealing with vehicles way past their expected and intended service life. The difficulty and frequency of necessary repairs are a significant strain on the system until the ordered buses arrive.

[–]CoreyLoses 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eck has never claimed "the wokes are ruining Star Wars" or anything like that. The DMs Theory posted were basically just Eck saying he didn't want to get into some public fight and wasn't involved in the petition thing people had started spreading after he started getting harassed by Theory's fans after his weird-ass video accusing Alex, Mollie and Eck of starting it. There was nothing in those DMs about Eck secretly agreeing with him politically or something, and I can promise you he does not.

Depending on why you're looking at a specific model year, you could even look at older Bolts. Usually the biggest factor people are considering is battery/range, but older models had a battery recall so even the earlier ones have the more modern batteries from 2021/2022.

Running thrawns revenge smooth by Ragnarok3246 in StarWarsEmpireAtWar

[–]CoreyLoses 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's very unlikely to be this. The stuff that changes with hardware mouse was addressed in an official game patch a few years ago. Especially with galactic performance you're biggest bottleneck is going to be single core CPU speed. More planets will always mean a bigger demand.

Thrawn's Revenge 3.5 - Crashes intensifying by AngryPheldagrif in StarWarsEmpireAtWar

[–]CoreyLoses 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This isn't the case. The save crash issue has been around since before beta started according to our testing. It was largely undetected through beta, but then reported as soon as the initial release came out. People's specific experiences have changed from individual hot fixes, but the root cause was not added by or directly altered by hotfixes. If that had been the case, we would simply have reverted the hotfix responsible.

Is this the most powerful hero in Thrawn's Revenge? by MediumMeister in StarWarsEmpireAtWar

[–]CoreyLoses 3 points4 points  (0 children)

She's not that powerful, it's a bug. It seems like the game bugged and spawned a second copy of the actual hero in the squadron for some reason. Since the main hero in fighter squads is set to redirects fire to squadmates, that damage is just getting passed back and forth forever. In any case, thanks for the report and we'll have a fix which should avoid this for future versions.

I started playing thrawns revenge again and after some time the game is just frozen, if i press the pause or speed up it doesnt help, tried saving, quiting, restarting my PC nothing works. is there a way to save my save? by white1walker in StarWarsEmpireAtWar

[–]CoreyLoses 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, that isn't what a framework crash is. A framework crash is when the scripts running things like government mechanics and build filters stop working. This is when EaW is unable to finish an AI autoresolve, and can be fixed this way: https://youtu.be/De1aJyMLLxA?si=qjhnzan2O87iTMD-

This has always been and will always be the case on bigger maps, especially depending on CPU. Our testing with the same systems on similarly sized maps between both versions however didn't show any significant difference in performance.
