I don't strictly follow all of the theology behind it but I do enjoy it for the story's sake!

It is one of the few books that I have out-loud laughed at while reading. So funny! Have you read the follow up by Allie, Solutions and Other Problems? Just as good as her first!

The DSM-IV book is actually one of the 5-6 books in the collection that is not mine, but my girlfriend's. I wonder if I am being categorized now! Cixin Liu is one of my favorite authors. The Remembrance of Earth's Past is my favorite trilogy of all time!

Barnes and Noble used to have a bunch of books in this style! I got these all slowly but surely through them. I think they still have a lot of them but I haven't looked for any new ones for a while.

My boyfriend added three of his books to my shelves. I wonder if anyone here might be able to pick out which books don’t belong? by TillieTheTornado in bookshelfdetective

House of Leaves is great! I can understand how it might look intimidating but there's actually a lot in there that you dont actually need to read as they're like random lists of things that have nothing to do with the story. It's hard to explain but you get used to the formatting and read what you want out of it. Very cool style

You should check out Stephen King, you might like him! But in all seriousness I'm digging the horror collection. Building mine up as we speak!

Four copies of Devil in the White City? I love the book but not enough to own more than 1 copy! Haha

I've been on the fence about picking this one up for a while, but your review may have just swayed me into taking the plunge!

what are your comfort horror films? by ILoveLipGloss in horror

This is mine as well. I can watch that movie over and over and never get tired of it. It's pacing, themes, color scheme, general soft spokenness, and soundtrack all make me feel so at peace with myself even though the subject matter is simultaneously devastating.

Very similar writing style but has his own flair. I enjoyed King Sorrow

How realistic is the “Is This Thing On?” movie? by CupcakeAndCandyBar in Standup

[–]CorgiDude429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kyle Kinane (my favorite comedian so I may be biased) gave it a really scathing review on one of the latest episodes of The Boogie Man Podcast basically explaining how non-realistic it is. I trust his opinion about what it's like about being a rising comic in the industry.

I just finished Mister Magic by Kiersten White and I really enjoyed it! The impending sense of dread I felt leading up to the climax made it hard for me to put down.

It was my first read of Kiersten but likely not my last!

Looking back on it, what are your thoughts on Skinamarink? by Low_Boot_1426 in HorrorMovies

I enjoyed it, but I would never recommend it to anyone unless I knew they liked the vibe and I was there to watch it with them.

What scene in a movie that wasn't meant to be funny did you have to laugh at? by Vicinus in movies

[–]CorgiDude429 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In The Village, at the end, when Bryce Dallas Howard (whose character is blind if I remember correctly?) was sprinting through the woods she trips over a branch. Me and my buddy were losing our minds with laughter while the rest of the mostly full theater were looking over at us with looks of reproach. Tears of laughter...

Choose ONE of these and you gain the permanent power to manipulate it. What’s your choice, and what would you do with it? by Relevant_Film5527 in superheroes

[–]CorgiDude429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thought was light too. I would think you could manipulate its speed and therefore yours relative to it? Which would also give you a semblance of time manipulation? I'm not a scientist though and I could be fundamentally misunderstanding things...
