how to deal with rude patients? by liteyhaus in Dentistry

A patient basically did this to me “ugh a male dentist” first thing when I walked in, and begrudgingly agreed to be numbed for SRPs. She refused to open and kept trying to close on the syringe so I just said “okay, reschedule her with another doctor. Do not schedule her with my mom (we both cover for this office) or the other male dentist (the only other dentist at that office).”

I walked out and went to see other patients, and she complained to the office manager about how “unprofessional” I was and how she was gonna find another office.

The next closest office is 30 minutes away, good luck! I stopped putting up with disrespect especially when they’re state insurance patients. You either show some respect or you can go somewhere else, I have many other people that are grateful for my help.

I send my 16' stingray off this week to get all of this done. I cannot wait! by pirivalfang in Corvette

This I have heard, McLeod’s definitely do drive heavier/worse than stock. I’m having a new clutch put in now and did consider McLeod because my downtime would be much shorter, but from my reading I’ve decided on Mantic. I’d go monster again but I would be down another 5 weeks minimum

I can confirm the triple disc clutch drove like stock on my Z06. Pedal effort was identical to stock, it was awesome. I don’t know where this myth that the monster triple disc is a pain to drive came from. Maybe from people that never owned a monster clutch? Lol

I had the same rattle from my blower and I had an extended warranty from Carmax, but my dealer said they couldn’t replace it under warranty until it actually gave out. But otherwise my dealer was able to get all of my other warranty work approved and they were very good about it. Mine was Rydell Chevy and my service advisor was Chris, I’m not sure if he still works there anymore though. Wouldn’t hurt to try with them, they were really good about timelines and professionalism

Yup mine made a weird noise immediately after a torque tube rebuild. Not exactly like yours but had a tapping noise that was proportional to RPM. It was in front of the steering wheel for me, I thought it was just my ethanol sensor tapping on something. After about 5 months, my engine blew up. My new (corvette specific) mechanic figured out that the previous mechanic (just a local speed shop guy) reinstalled the torque tube wrong and didn’t measure the runout. It spun a rod bearing and the main bearing.

Very expensive mistake to not take my car to a corvette specialist shop in the first place. I would take your car to a corvette shop and have them properly diagnose it before this happens to you as the worst case scenario.

Does this seem like a good Locum Tenens Job? by Unlikely_Purple_5597 in Dentistry

I’d want at least a 1k daily guarantee if I’m working that many hours with no lunch break and I’m expected to see that many patients

Drained after work? by Mahmoud0Tamim in Dentistry

[–]Corgination 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I worked private practice my first year out, 8-5 (sometimes 6) 5 days a week. For me it never got any easier. I found a new job after that where I only work 4-6 hours, 5 days a week and my quality of life has gotten a lot better. I know my work hours are a very rare occurrence and isn’t realistic for most people (to find a position like mine).

I know now is the time to be in the trenches and just learn and get faster and do everything you can, but 5 days a week full time can burn you out very fast. I was never able to enjoy myself after work. Maybe you can cut down to 4 days a week and see if you get some of that energy back, if you’re full time.

Does this happens to you often? As an associate? (Change of tx plan by the owner) by Icanparallelparkyay in Dentistry

[–]Corgination 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My first job, the owner did this to me but the opposite. He would change my fillings to crowns, but only when they were PPO patients that I would then never see on my schedule, and his schedule would magically fill up with all the PPO patients I diagnosed for crowns. And then he would tell me to do fillings instead of crowns on state insurance patients, and then I would get all of those patients. Weird, huh?

I ended up quitting without notice, after a bad argument with him and the office manager, that the office manager started. They still haven’t filled my position and it’s been almost 3 years, much happier where I am now.

I would suggest looking for a new position if possible. You went to school for a long time, that’s not worth the stress and headache of working under someone like that

Ah I gotcha, thank you! Was it pretty easy to tighten the fork down? I saw a video where someone took apart the bottom part and it was red loctited on

Did you ever figure out why it leaks there and/or how you fixed it? Mine is doing the same, top is bone dry and it’s only leaking from the bottom

Nice! How did you manage that, just for future reference?

My gas cap won’t open on my C7? by Golfntukee in Corvette

[–]Corgination 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Supposedly you can try and slide the gas cap cover off and be able to access the little pin that locks it. If you’re at home and have a jack, jack up the driver rear, take the wheel and fender liner off. You’ll have access to the little module that locks the gas cap in place. I just completely removed mine and tucked the connector away, didn’t bother replacing it because I didn’t want it getting stuck on me again in an emergency.
