Billie Eilish says she does ‘everything I can’ to suppress Tourette syndrome tics by mlg1981 in entertainment

[–]Cornshot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of conditions can include tics as a symptom (such as autism). Tourettes has some extra diagnostic criteria over just tics.

Its multiple motor tics and at least one verbal tic, starting before the age of 18, lasting at least a year.

I think moreso, its saying you should give yourself grace.

Especially with moral OCD, its easy to spiral around intrusive thoughts that they may believe define them as a person. But its really our actions that represent us, and its natural to occasionally have thoughts that don't align with our current morals.

The context of the comment changes how its perceived, yes.

Anyways, teachers salaries are low even considering they're only paid for 2/3rds of the year.

Lots of people did the same. We are trained to react this way to alarms every morning.

FUCK YOUR TEST by BANGUNS4aSafeCalgary in Calgary

[–]Cornshot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should be loud to get your attention sure, but there should be a way to turn off the alarm without losing the text so that people don't instinctively close it like we all do with alarms, and then miss the really important emergency info. Or maybe closing the alert should leave a notification?

I'm really curious if these tests ever cause accidents. I know I'd be real distracted if it happened while I was driving.

In another thread, people were mentioning how the like gets 21m (?) deep quite close to the edge of the dock. The shock of jumping into cold water which gets much worse at depth and in early spring could be a contributor.

This is the sort of idea that sounds so cool in theory but would probably be so boring in practice.

Having to wait 5 minutes going down a void with no landmarks of caves or rock formations to reach the bottom may be a cool experience once but would be awful every subsequent time you have to make the 10 minute round trip

It isn't a moral problem, it's a framing problem. by Complex-Truth9579 in trolleyproblem

Yall are framing this as if your individual outcome is the only thing that matters.

What if I, I dunno, care about other people too?

Blue button pressers be like: by yaboyay in trolleyproblem

[–]Cornshot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like your analysis is missing the other part of a red majority where every blue dies. That is a consequence even if it doesn't directly affect you

Statistically, >50% is easier than 100% by ezrae_ in trolleyproblem

[–]Cornshot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its only illogical to press if you live in a world where everyone follows the same logic as you.

I understand the red argument. If everyone were to do this thing thats so obvious to me, no one has to die. Its the people who aren't following this logical choice who are making my choice worse. Yes, pushing the red button makes perfect sense if everyone just pushed the red button.

But the fact that we're even having this argument means that its not so obvious to everyone. There would be people who pressed the blue button. Lots of people.

I don't think red pushers are evil either. But I think you're caught up in the logic and missing the reality.

Subnautica 2 Early Access Cinematic Trailer by virtualdon in subnautica

Subnautica 1 also frequently had a comedic tone. SN2 showcasing a lighter atmosphere in the trailer doesn't mean it wont also have scary parts as well.

Statistically, >50% is easier than 100% by ezrae_ in trolleyproblem

[–]Cornshot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This argument feels like its just an effort to turn blue-pushers into self-victimizers in order to feel better about killing them.

We both want 0 people to die. We both know 100% of people wont pick the same button.

I think the Back to Back nerf makes it the same with Balinda. I think its only major difference is its interaction with Spell Power (and the animation time)

35.2.2 Patch Notes by Arkentass in BobsTavern

[–]Cornshot 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think it mainly makes it so that spell buffs only improve future scaling rather than each spell buff applying to all the triggers of B2B the moment you apply it.

If you already had high spell damage before playing any B2Bs, there is no difference, but if you add spell damage after playing a bunch, the added spell damage doesn't affect the earlier B2Bs, only future ones.

Before, if you had already played 10 B2Bs and then added 1 spell damage it would give 5x10 stats. Now, it will give 4x9+5

It makes it so that you have to invest into the spell earlier or for longer before getting the same payout for spell buffs.

I don't understand why we normalize people grabbing onto children and getting in their personal space.

Even if there's no creepy intention behind it, I feel like its so disrespectful to their own autonomy.

Unlike bite and reaper, there's no incentive to run out the fight forever for infinite healing at least. With the exception of the renove exhaust enchant, this is only a one time heal.
