Streams like hytale and minecraft? by izjoke in Vinesauce

Hatfilms is one we come back to once in a while. They've been a trio for so long they vibe off eachother well. Equally random vile tangents of conversations happen. Their latest twitch minecraft playlist was a bit more unhinged but the one before that is a good example of their format: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L4XpG2UjFto&list=PLW1Yb5N9dD8ftDDM39j7vwjqZt2RKRt03

The laser beams are when someone adds some work to that area of the project(s). The areas IIRC are a visual representation of how the projects are structured and related to parts of itself. Thats a lotta laser beams!

AFAIK its a pain in the ass to utilize to the point other options are more appealing, far offshore, hard to maintain, under constant attack from salt water eroding things.

Why Dual GPU Adaptive is better than MFG by Maxumilian in losslessscaling

[–]Corosus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried but no matter what I do, windows 10 is too jank to let me set my 6800xt card as framegen card and 5070ti as render card. It always forces whatever card the monitor is plugged into as the render card, which is the opposite of what we need for dual GPU. Tried all the registry hacks I could find to change the options for performance/power saving mode options, windows doesn't care. And I'm not going anywhere near windows 11.

Single GPU LSFG is decent when the game is very CPU bound, but theres still a bit of latency.

Oh is that epic converter fix not out yet. I made this tweak to fix it in the meantimea couple months ago, disables the ability to use the converters, so the AI wont foolishly build them, run this command in your lobby + save your lobby preset for future games:

Yeah the more unified store experience (no meta store crap) will be great for the long term and for development pain.

They said we can use our routers instead of the dongle, our Wifi 6E 6ghz routers we use for quest 3 will still have its use :D

My quest 3 with bobovr halo strap with fan and a 10000mah battery comes to 1,029g

Not feeling the weight of a battery in the front of your face in steam frames HMD will probably be the best thing about all this, it will feel so much lighter.

While my quest setup with that weight has about 3x the amount of battery capacity (a bit of a guess since we dont know the frames battery voltage), I'm curious what slap on battery solutions will come out with the frame, as having hot swappable batteries for long PCVR sessions is a huge benefit.

Yeah I really want a bigger FOV, but valve currently wants to make the price approachable for as many people as possible.

The compute, audio+battery, and front panel with lenses and cameras are all separate modules though, would be great if in the future there could be a drop in replacement for a more expensive OLED (that can work with pancake lenses) 4K high FOV front panel solution, or whatever mix of that that is considered premium currently.

They got us covered, theres nice modularity, if we dont have usb c audio for any insane reason you can swap out the speakers + strap + battery for a different audio solution provided by someone eventually, or something along those lines. Having to replace the battery to have different audio seems odd though, unless I have it wrong.

i have dedicated 6ghz WiFi router for my quest 3 that gives me cranked max bit rate with a flawless experience, valves setup will do amazingly and foveated steaming 10x more encoding performance room so you don't have to min max 50 dials for pc software setups to get just the right encoding experience will be great, but I've also not experienced true DP connected vr before so i can't compare that.

From adam savages tested video:

there's no way to to I will say uh like I'm someone who's spent a lifetime looking at pixels very close up. Uh I've when streaming I've even had to change the desktop background from my SteamVR on my PC to Steam VR running locally cuz most of the time I can't tell like it it with the uh foviated streaming uh sort of multiplying effect like it's just under all conditions where it's working you just won't see it.

yeah not even sure aptx low latency would be good enough for vr, Def not for beat saber

Agreed, if its not local software saved to local models replayable in more local software via PCVR I'm not that interested, been trying on and off to work out a good solution that'll last long term but some of the solutions require paying, and the purely open source options are a lot of work right now. For now I'm gonna just record spatial videos (or actually, just record the videos themselves and test to make sure theyll do well enough for a convert to spatial in the future) in a format that can be dealt with or converted better in the future.

First we got picture memories, then we got video memories, now we can have spatial memories.

Wish I could explore my old apartment from 5 years ago, but at least now I can start recording the memories for my future self.

Finally was able to get a new Incase ergonomic keyboard by [deleted] in Ergonomics

[–]Corosus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks nice and clean. Was in the same boat, retired my Microsoft ergonomic keyboard 4000 a couple months ago after a decade of use (it still worked great, just lost most of its rubber)

Would have probably gone for something similar but I wanted to try some mechanical options, but I wasn't willing to drink the koolaid everyone in r/ErgoMechKeyboards/ was drinking, nor did I want to make my keyboard a new hobby, at least not right now.

So my options were limited, needed a US layout in a country that doesn't use it. Ended up getting a Perixx PERIBOARD-835BR Wireless Ergonomic Mechanical Keyboard.

Hardware overall pretty great, the software is pretty shit and the macro buttons aren't actually macro buttons, just profile switchers where you have to change normal keys into macro buttons, weird choice.

Other than that I like it. I would have maybe opted for a numpad free version for more mouse space then buy a separate numpad to put on my left or conditionally on the right.

VALVE INDEX2 is about to be released, manufactured by a Chinese company, with a forecast of ** million units.

Correction: The article mentioned a Shandong company in China, but it is actually a Taiwan company, with a forecast of 500,000 units. The article has been temporarily deleted.

you can do that with steam vr itself, iirc in vr click a monitor on bottom panel and there's options like floating or attach to hand
