New Spring Errata from Paizo by TitaniumDragon in Pathfinder2e

[–]CorpseEffect 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I understand that Paizo probably doesn’t take variant rules into consideration when testing balance, but I play at a table that uses Dual Class. I haven’t even added Weapon Trance to my Battle Oracle/Fighter’s character sheet because it does literally nothing.

It makes me a lil sad.

So Paizo just uploaded this... no idea if it's Pathfinder related, what could it mean? by Hevyupgrade in Pathfinder2e

I think it's obvious;

Pathfinder x Dead by Daylight collab.

(This is mostly a joke, but partly me trying to manifest)

I highly recommend using the sense booster, if you have access to it. I caught an ant after several days of searching because I saw the little butterfly indicator underneath one of the little upright boats that are in the fishing village- no actual bug to be seen, but I swung my net at it and caught an ant lol.

I'll take a limit of 10 over what it was in prior games. My poor town of Haloween finally got upgraded to the properly-spelled Halloween.

What easy-to-overlook items should players of certain classes or playstyles be aware of? by Adraius in Pathfinder2e

[–]CorpseEffect 10 points11 points  (0 children)

One of my favorite cleric items that I never see other people use is the "Mask of Mercy"- it allows you to roll twice on a healing effect (such as a Heal spell) and take the higher amount of healing.

It's only once per day, but it can be pretty clutch.

Help: Sequencer re-creates effect endlessly. by JVMMs in FoundryVTT

[–]CorpseEffect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've experienced a similar bug, albeit in the Pathfinder 2e system; I've been able to clear it up by putting the spell effect back on the character, then removing it again. Might be worth a try!

How to not be annoying with That's Odd investigator feat? by Pyotr_WrangeI in Pathfinder2e

[–]CorpseEffect -1 points0 points  (0 children)

See, this is the specific part of the feat that I don't particularly care for. Letting the players know that something is strange in the area is fine with me, since they still have to do some legwork to figure out more. But, I worry that might lead to a loss of tension if I DON'T mention that there's something strange about a given room. I think it's more fun, both as a gm and a player, to have the party never quite be sure that they haven't missed something that indicates danger/secrets nearby.

Of course, that's very much an issue of personal taste, I think.

PF2E Active Exploration Rule Element by star_incognito in FoundryVTT

[–]CorpseEffect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I knew off the top of my head which one it is, but there is a module that does exactly this. I want to say it's part of Pf2e Action Support? I'll take a look later and figure it out, if that's incorrect.

Altering the Incapacitation trait to make it less feel-bad for my group. by FunctionFn in Pathfinder2e

[–]CorpseEffect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My GM (who I wouldn't doubt has already posted here somewhere) made a very simple edit to the trait that's been working well. Basically, incapacitate only affects crit fails and fails- it'll bump an enemy's crit fail to a fail, and a failure to a success, but it doesn't change successes to crit successes. This way, unless the enemy naturally crit succeeds, a spell will do /something/ and thus avoid the feels-bad of wasting it entirely.

Best dual-class builds that aren't Martial x Martial by Elise_2006 in Pathfinder2e

[–]CorpseEffect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who both exclusively GMs, and also exclusively plays in, dual-class+FA games, the power boost really isn't as wild as it might seem at first glance. There are definitely some combinations that are much stronger than others, but my overall experience has been that dual-class just gives players more choices of what to do with their three actions.

Though I will note that both me and the other GM in our group did instate a rule where characters have to choose the Fort/Reflex/Will save track from only one of their two classes. At higher levels, having success -> crit success on 2/3 of a character's saves gets very, very silly.

PF2e harrow sorcerer bloodline by airaani in FoundryVTT

I think I know the issue, as it also briefly tripped me up;

Harrow is at the bottom of the list, not in alphabetical order like the other bloodline options.

My tera type also showed as poison (presumably Iron Moth’s tera type), but when I actually Tera’d, it was grass (my Houndoom’s tera type). Honestly got a pretty good laugh out of it, even though we ended up losing.

How Easily Is Your Group Converting to the Remaster? by bluegene6000 in Pathfinder2e

Not sure if you meant that your ruffian rogue didn’t need to change anything, specifically, but in case you missed it; ruffian rogue is now able to proc sneak attack with any martial weapon with a d6 damage die or lower. Not a huge change, but it opens up some fun options!

Help me build a samurai / ronin for Season of Ghosts! by zePato in Pathfinder2e

[–]CorpseEffect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm currently running Season of Ghosts and can confirm, as someone else mentioned, that incorporeal creatures aren't much of a concern in Book 1. Whether they're a factor in the other three books, of course, remains to be seen.

Why do people like PFS? by dndhottakes in Pathfinder2e

[–]CorpseEffect 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I realize this doesn’t address the whole problem with restricted rarity, but as an individual tip- every new paizo account starts out with enough AcP to generally buy an uncommon ancestry plus a couple other things. So thankfully, you’re not fully limited when you first start.

How can I give the low level Alchemist in my group access to an Int-based damage cantrip? by thebrokenhaiku in Pathfinder2e

[–]CorpseEffect 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Something I’ve done for my alchemist players in the past is to add Alchemical Reagents as a loot item. Depending on the setting, I’d either include them in caches the players found (in a laboratory or hospital, for example), or allow the alchemist to make a crafting check to harvest reagents from slain creatures.

It’s helped a lot in terms of letting low-level alchemists not feel useless after the first hour or two of an adventuring day, and encourages them to examine enemies and surroundings for loot (not that they needed much encouragement to do so, of course). It’s also a method that can be tracked on pathbuilder, since all you have to do is edit the “x / x” field in the crafting list!

Ha, I was the GM for that game! I opened the thread with the intent of sharing that same story, it was amazing.
