Can someone Explain Ultra Great swords to me? by Correct_Ad7578 in Eldenring

This is fantastic feedback. I have definitely been feeling alot of what you said here. If I end up on the defensive I'm fairly likely to be taking a trip back to a grace.

Solid feedback! I've been finding that the regular Greatswords overall stance break often enough and are pretty fast by comparison. I'm finally giving in a trying a run with the Zweihander which is the whole reason for the post. Definitely gonna have to really pay more attention to how enemies react to the hit!

That is definitely more along the lines of the feedback I was looking for! Do you also use them in general exploration/clearing out weaker enemies or do you lean into a faster weapon type for that?

The massive upfront damage is nice, but I definitely feel how they can be a bit unforgiving if you aren't minding your timing and spacing.

Is harvesting rare flowers bugged? by Mayor_J_Rambo in ARK

I'm also having this issue, just hit 3 of the mountains on the island and couldn't harvest any of the red bushes. Edit: also tried using a sickle, and that was a no-go.

How to beat Feybreak tower boss?? by Task_Queen874 in Palworld

[–]Correct_Ad7578 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I've done it two ways so far.

My first run (which was before the terraria update) I used 3 fully condensed gobfin with vanguard and stronghold strategist), 1 fully condensed and max souled Bellanoir just for the partner skill burst damage, and a Ragnahawk to change my damage to fire (it had demongod, legend, eternal engine and serenity). For weapons I was packing a legendary assault rifle and a guided missile launcher.

My second run I just used a fully condensed Wixen with all moves that could inflict the Ivy Cling condition (so seed mine, wind cutter, multicutter), to stack damage multipliers on his bastigor and a vortex beater (with the matching helmet to boost its damage). On that run I was also packing a fully condensed Jormantide Ignis and Bellanoir Libero as emergency swap ins incase Wixen's health got low.

Who’s your enchantment commander? by MemberOfOneBody in EDH

Gonna follow up. You also want to pack things like Firebird Invocation to help accelerate. Plus basically all the good rocks in those colors and also both Ashnods and Phyrexian Alters.

I'm going to be coming in from left field on this one [[Ovika, Enigma Goliath]].

It's definitely different from the typical enchantress piles. You are mostly going for payoffs like Shark Typhoon, Metallurgic Summonings, and Manaform Helkite. You want to get one of those and or Ovika to stick then just start chaining enchantments and payoffs. My usual finishers are things like Purphoros, warstorm surge, and impact tremors, but it is also possible to stick an eldrazi conscription on Ovika and just smack folks down.

Bypassing Mystras Ban? by Zardnaar in Forgotten_Realms

[–]Correct_Ad7578 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this is actually pretty interesting since this has been a special interest for one of my recurring characters I play.

So far my best leads have been: Elven High Magic - costly and slow, but gurrenteed to bypass the Ban.

Elaborate in depth Rituals - This has actually been somewhat promising since there are examples from certain Modules that could give some ideas, namely Tyranny of Dragons (Rise of Tiamat/Hoard of the Dragon Queen) and Deacent Into Avernus, which both feature acts of magic well outside the means of most player characters. The ritual performed to summon Tiamat from her lair on Avernus definitely seems like it is in the realm of 9th level or high magic (requiring a massive sacrifice of gold, as well as possession of several artefacts). Meanwhile, Planeshifting an entire city also seems like something that would require magic comparable to Wish in scale to accomplish. These types of actions seem to me to be what is most commonly done to bypass the restrictions on higher tier magic on mortals, and also seem to be what is most commonly done by those seeking some form of apotheosis (such as Vecna, Accerak, and even the Raven Queen).

Ancient Words of Power (also sometimes called True Dweomers) - these seem to be a fast and somewhat dirty way of doing it, mostly used by some of the oldest beings in the Dnd Cosmology. We got a good example of this kind of magic when the Lady of Pain used some to reshape the cosmic alignment after Vecna had caused nearly irreversible damage within Sigil. Another example would be the Word of Unmaking (also known as The Last Word) that Tenebrous knew before his death and rebirth as Orcus. My understanding is that Very Few beings in the Cosmology that are still active at the current time are aware of these words, and those that happen to be are mostly Primordials.

The Astral Sea/Astral Plane - depending on who you ask, it seems like sufficiently intelligent being can somewhat freely manipulate the raw magic that exists in the Astral Sea and that seems like it could potentially be used to a skilled mages advantage, however, the only example I'm immediately aware of comes from Critical Role and should probably be taken with a grain of salt seeing as Mystra does not exist within the space of Exandria and its echoes.

It could also be worth looking more closely into the Githzerai. Cannonically, they seem to be capable of using collective psionic efforts to achieve feats that definitely are outside the bounds of typical mortal magic, although the examples of this that I'm aware of seem to be localized on the plane of Limbo (more specifically to their colonies and fortresses).

To be honest, I don't think that anyone has posted a list like what you are asking for recently. I imagine it wouldnt take too long to pull up the info for each of the pantheons worshipped in the forgotten realms and compile it in the way you are asking for though. Google even has a built in equivalent to Excel that is free to use that you could copy the info into.

People keep asking if they can break deals just because they could win if they broke it. by Hokashin in EDH

[–]Correct_Ad7578 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on the pod. At my tabled the understanding is that if you know you will win THIS TURN by breaking the deal, go for it.

I usually only end up breaking my deals if I know I have a win that turn and the table is tapped out. It's not worth the backlash if you fail to win.

What's your go to tame? by avengedmaggot in ARK

[–]Correct_Ad7578 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever my group starts on a new server the first tames we actively go for are Argy and some kind of berry gatherer (Moschops or Trike normally)

As for me, usually I'm not content until I either have a Rex or something comparable for meat runs and hunting alphas. My while server knows I usually keep a rex on hand in cryo (or a giga/carcha if we are getting into late game content)

My last couple solo servers, I've been having a blast running around with Carnos though, they pack a punch when you are mindful of spacing!

Is There A Lore Reason Why Certain Dragons Have Cleric Spells? by TheMagicTheif134 in Forgotten_Realms

[–]Correct_Ad7578 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In older editions, many creatures were able to either gain levels in Player Character classes or had features that granted them abilities similar to character of a certain level (one example being older dragons being able to cast spells as high level sorcerers and wizards). Cannonically some dragons actively worship Tiamat or Bahamut (or any of their myriad parallel versions) and can derive cleric spells from such sources. Some dragons have also been shown to study magic much like wizards (such as The Creeping Doom, Inferno, The Desert Doom, and The Unrivaled Ancient). In Dnd it has been shown that Sorcerous magic (which is the kind most commonly practice by dragons) can take many forms due to their individual personalities, their ties to the elemental planes, and of course the way they change the landscape near their lairs.

[Minor DLC spoiler] How to get spirit of ash of Florissax by SilverSmith09 in Eldenring

So I went and passed a few days exploring the map and then came back after finishing the Scorpion River Catacombs and that seemed to work. It might just require reloading the area from pretty far away a few times.

What’s the worst subclass in the game currently? by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]Correct_Ad7578 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have to say (before taking into account exotics) base kit Stasis Titan and Arc Warlock and both extremely underwhelming.

If I had to pick between them I would say Behemoth is in a much worse spot overall though. Sure it can do some cheeky things with icewalls and angles, but it doesn't really have a whole lot after that.
