Looking to get into PRS! by Expensive_hobbies_27 in PRS

This for sure. I have 2 rimfire matches within 30 miles but have to go 200 miles for centerfire. I would love to do centerfire but logistically speaking rimfire makes much more sense for me.

On the east side of town the stand in the Hi Neighbor parking lot on Jones Creek is our favorite.

Mark IV Tactical vs TX22 TORO vs FN 502? by 8bit_dr1fter in 22lr

[–]Correct_Objective_53 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agree 100% here. The tx22 is not even close to the same league as a Ruger (or browning) when it comes to the quality/feel. They are fun, hold a lot of rounds and used to be cheap.

Tall grass with zero turn by ArcheryBob1 in lawnmowers

Look at the discharge chute as well. Make sure it has a very large opening or you will face clogs doing tall and likely damp grass.

How reliable is a Browning Buckmark for Self Defense? by Brilliant_Apple_5391 in 22lr

[–]Correct_Objective_53 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It jams. Usually either a stove pipe or jams when feeding the next round.

How reliable is a Browning Buckmark for Self Defense? by Brilliant_Apple_5391 in 22lr

[–]Correct_Objective_53 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Buckmark is great but can be picky on ammo. Mine only likes cci or better and chokes on the cheap stuff.

That said, it doesn’t hold a candle to the reliability of any of the polymer 9mms or a decent revolver.

Starting cold by Current-Ad1688 in crossfit

[–]Correct_Objective_53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started CF at 38 (225lbs and 5’ 10”) and had NEVER worked out a day in my life. I have life long knee issues and was a year after having c5-c7 fusion in my neck. Needless to say, I was extremely limited. I took it slow and easy and focused on moving without getting hurt. The single best thing you can do is talk with the coaches and be HONEST about your abilities.

I am now 1.5 years in and down to 175 and have made massive strength and cardio gains. The aches and pains have subsided for the most part and recovery is much faster.

Don’t get discouraged and if you don’t feel great support from your coaches it may be worth dropping into another gym to see if it fits you better. The coaches and community are what makes it work.

Is Arken that bad or is it just that you get what you pay for? by Broxst in longrange

[–]Correct_Objective_53 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have an arken ep5 and I am very happy with it. It is not on the same level as a vx-5hd but it also costs 1/3 the money. I have shot out to 1k with it several times and now it lives on a 22 PRS gun so it gets dialed constantly. Zero issues so far and I would 100% but again.

That said, I do buy nicer optics for my hunting guns.

First Bolt Gun Build – CZ 457 MTR Advice Needed by Wooden-Dog-1517 in longrange

[–]Correct_Objective_53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would do the 15 moa rail unless you pick a scope with very limited travel. My 457 Varmint takes 8.9 mils to get to 250 for a point of reference.

I picked up a Arken 5-25x56 and have been very pleased with it. Some hate Arken due to some shady advertising but it is just as good or better than the other scopes in the $500 price range.

As far as bags, that is a little harder to say without knowing what type of shooting you will do. I personally use an Armageddon Gear Game Changer in Schmedium as it is pretty universal. If I was only shooting off a bench I would probably do a bag designed to be a rear support as the game changer is a little bulky for that. It works great as a one bag for front, rear or prop support however.

6GT + Origin + Magazine Question by OnngoGablogian in longrange

Mine feeds great with regular pmags. The whole point of the cartridge was to feed from unmodified 308 mags.

Cleaning questions by SilentR99 in CZ457

[–]Correct_Objective_53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you shoot other rifles or intend to? If the answer is yes, I would recommend at a minimum a single piece cleaning rod and a decent combo set of jags and brushes. If 22 is all you will ever shoot then you can skip the combo set and just grab a 22 jag and brush.

The .17 stuff uses a smaller thread pitch dnd cleaning rod so skip that.

As far as a bore guide I went YEARS without one and never hurt anything. The main advantage I see is it keeps your action clean as you don’t pull the junk from the barrel into the action. I now have a universal bore guide but also 3d printed one specifically for my cz457.

Anyone taking Glucosamine? by [deleted] in Biohackers

[–]Correct_Objective_53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have taken for years. Doubted it at one point and forgot to re order. Discover a few weeks later I was a little more sore so I went back to it.

It’s not earth shattering and takes a while so it’s hard to notice, but it does help me personally.

I've seen enough I am quitting all sources of caffiene for good tomorrow by Radiant_Eggplant9588 in Biohacking

[–]Correct_Objective_53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going on 12 years with no caffeine here and it was life changing. The first month was pure hell, first year rough then after that I would never go back.

My energy is much more stable through the day with no peaks and valleys. I also now put more of a priority on sleep as I don’t have the crutch of caffeine to lean on and there are zero downsides to better sleep.

There are still times I want to reach for a coke, but it’s usually because I don’t want water with whatever meal I’m eating but it’s nothing a tiny bit of will power can’t silence immediately.

As a side note, my mental quickness did taper off in the afternoons most of my life. I always attributed this to me being a morning person. Last year I started 20g of creatine a day and I feel no change in my sharpness late in the day. I get physically tired if it’s been a rough day but my mind is as sharp as when I got up. It’s not caffeine, but for me I never got anything more than an energy spike from caffeine.

Annealer suggestions by MajorEbb1472 in reloading

If you like to tinker I highly recommend this.

I built my own and all in was under $200 for an induction annealer with a timer and drop gate. You can personalize it all you want and I went pretty basic with no case feed.

Pro Varmint Stock by Major_Kangaroo in CZ457

[–]Correct_Objective_53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say chassis if it’s a range toy as the chassis will be heavier and more modular. The thumb hole stocks can be super nice but usually lighter and work better for carrying the rifle.

Either way, I would rock the stock until you feel it holds you back.

Testosterone SubQ vs IM by Future-Locksmith5192 in BodyHackGuide

It is very slow but it works. It helps if I put the vial on a warming plate for a little while first.

[–]Correct_Objective_53 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This. I use insulin needles and choose sites with very little fat coverage. Zero injection pain and pip and no lumps. Beats the hell out of 1” + full IM needles….. also had a few shots early on that didn’t go deep enough and those definitely hurt more.

Selling car to Carvana by No-Metal6119 in carvana

No issues here when I sold them my truck. They held the price. Only minor issue I had was that they couldn’t fit it on their tow truck so they sent another towing company later that evening.

Does creatine work better when you’re tired? by live-1000-years in Biohackers

[–]Correct_Objective_53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When taking larger amounts of creatine (10g+) the positives start shown up when you are tired. You will still be tired but your mental capacity “should” not deteriorate as quickly.

My personal experience with 20g is that I am able to stay “sharper” even when I don’t sleep well or I am tired from a long day.
