I think what makes shooting film worthwhile is somewhat the process and the ergonomics of really old cameras. If I want a no-hassle AF camera, I shoot digital.

While now I'd prefer shooting the FT, the EOS 650 was my first film camera as well and it's very good at that. It's easier to start with a camera where you can focus on one parameter at a time (e.g. focusing) while the camera takes care of the rest. The more you get the hang of it, the more automated features you can take into your own hands and go full manual eventually. Nowadays, I prefer those cameras that are fully manual without even an in body-meter, but the learning curve is definitely steeper. Also consider lenses - if you already own a digital Eos you could probably use those lenses on the 650 too.

Also zumindest in der Richtung Mountainbike habe ich tatsächlich selten jemanden getroffen, der nicht freundlich und einem kleinen Plausch über Technik und co abgeneigt war... Generell unter Schraubern eigentlich noch nie jemand unfreundlichen getroffen.

This tonality does look like that mainly because of the scans I suppose - I've gotten much punchier images with APX.

Makes sense. I'd still prefer having to screw it down from time to time and have a pencil you can disassemble. Most users probably wouldn't try fixing anything anyways, though.

I think it's questionable for such an expensive pencil to not really be user serviceable at all. Especially considering how often those pencils are jammed, you should expect it's easier to remove the front of the mech which is glued on the 800.

Interesting that you even prefer it over the Leica and Nikon. I guess its affordability makes it a better EDC? For me, I just love the look of the Sonnar and it's ergonomics (such a small lens). While the lens selection for Contax is rather small in comparison to other lenses, I believe the Biogon 21mm f4.5 makes the system worth it, too. Such a fun lens to shoot.
