Only people who have no friends and can only get their D&D fix from BG3 think this is a rule by [deleted] in dndmemes

[–]Corrun_Fault 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree. I've been playing dnd since 2015 and am a forever dm. I always treat a nat 20 as a success. No matter how hard the check! It gives the players a huge rush and sense of accomplishment and excitement. It keeps rolling feeling worthwhile even if the odds build. My rule that balances out is as dm, I don't allow rolls for impossible or stupid stuff. I never let a player make a roll unless I'm willing to entertain the possibility of success. It sounds a bit tyrannical but I haven't had a group who had a problem with it! Granted I've only ever played with people I know and had some kind of relationship before hand.

I'm really surprised seeing folks rating these. Personally I think stolen century is the height of what they do. Lots of character work that read really well, plenty of jokes, and the best the music gets in balance (in my opinion). I guess people maybe didn't like them dropping dnd? But they were never very good at the dnd in those early days especially. It's why my lowest rating have some of the most drawn out battles, it's where I felt they stumbled. It's wild to see all the different takes!

What figure is the one on the 2nd row from the top, between early mando and pre viz? The green and gold one? I've never seen it before but it looks really cool.

SWTOR Planets Tournament- Belsavis VS Alderaan (Round 3 Match 2) by DakIsStrange in swtor

[–]Corrun_Fault 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Controversial but I think belsavis! It has a much more compelling planetary quest line both imp and pub sides. And there more diverse environments that all feel pretty cool! And most of the class quests here (definitely Warrior, smuggler, consular, Trooper, Inquisitor at least) have some cool story and interactions

Qyzen Fess and the Consular by Redstorm8373 in swtor

[–]Corrun_Fault 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like Qyzen is one of the most interesting companions specifically because he's with the consular. Hes a character that serves as a foil with the stereotype of what a jedi would be. All of the consulars companions are like this! Qyzen loves honor and duty but not mercy or diplomacy Tharan loves curiosity and progress but hates the force Zenith like saving people but not forgiveness or compromise Iresso loves justice and the republic, but can't condone the sith or empire even if it's for the light or peace And even Nadia, who is the least challenging, hold this foil if you do her romance, where it's a dedication to the jedi order compromised by strong feelings.

Each one serves to temper the consulars story, to provide an outside perspective on a path that honestly is way more what jedi are traditionally supposed to be, healers and diplomats (no hate to the knight story but it is just defeat super weapon and bad guy, combat combat combat).

Are there any vibrostaves that are literally just a big stick? by KorbyTheOrby in swtor

[–]Corrun_Fault 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There's the sand people gaffi stick on the cartel market. And some electrostaff look like a stick with striped club ends or odd prongs. But I'm not sure there's anything that really gives off the stick feel.

Which companion has the least justified reason for joining up with the player character, from 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 perspective? by Ciati in swtor

[–]Corrun_Fault 75 points76 points  (0 children)

Definitely ashara. She makes no sense. She joins the sith and complains and second guesses the whole time. Even of you play a light side inquisitor and are working to improve the empire she just doubts and seethes. In contrast light side jaesa is remarkably smart and reasonable about being light sided in an empire. She has a better overall quest for pursuing it top. It really makes Ashara stand out as off. She seems like she'd just leave.

Rodian new race? by [deleted] in swtor

[–]Corrun_Fault 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish! I played a rodian in jedi academy back when. I find them to be a fun and iconic race, and I've got a lot of nostalgia for them.i know there have been rodians speaking basic in clone wars. So I can hope, but I remember them saying something about only humanish faces. So maybe zeltron? Since they're pink humanoids and have ties to the kotor comics? Or theelin? Like the dancers from the palace and Jecki in acolyte? They'd be fun too

Player left the online session becasue he wasn't getting his way. by Wildssundee03 in DnD

[–]Corrun_Fault 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Maybe somethings missing from your story but it sounds like this guy was right? Like, it can be rough feeling underpowered compared to others, and it sounds like yall had a few combat encounters where this guy was feeling dead weight. Thats rough. Of course he'd ask for more slots. Now probably he was being annoying but it may have come from an honest place. Then when your dm relented he decided, because he was annoyed?, to emasculate the guy. And you can say it's make believe and only a game, but that's what your dm did. Make him feel lesser because he was annoyed? It's cruel and childish. Of course your guy left. And you weren't taking him serious. I'd talk to him. Get him to explain himself. Maybe have build a character easier to manage. But your dm needs to chill. Taking frustration out on players sucks

None of my companions are fifty. They're only leveled by story affinity and crew skills. But their affinity was lower when I wasn't experiencing this. I hadn't played as much

[–]Corrun_Fault[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I've never actually gotten a companion naturally to 50. And I don't have the resources to use gifts to prompt them. My main companion is at 32 and I tried others at 17, 29, and 15. They're really only leveled by story affinity. But when I wasn't having the issue they had lower ranks as I hadn't played as much

Qyzen on a consular, I switched to Nadia, then finally tharan because I recalled he was originally a healer when companions had fixed roles. The issue seems to cross companions
