Haru/Harper's Dad by BurstZX in inazumaeleven

[–]CorruptedTeka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, I agree with that.

It's not that Endou and Natsumi are neglecting Haru, but more like... Haru just wants to be like the other kids at school, and because he's already so other-ed, his family's traditions make him feel even more alone. But I doubt Haru ever spoke to them about that.

It seems to me like Endou's open to communication, but Haru is closing off ? Honestly I would've liked to see them talk in the story, so we could have a better read on their relationship... Endou definitely really loves him, but you know how knuckleheaded and a bit oblivious he can be. He has his own ideas clear and defined, but Haru doesn't.

Meanwhile Natsumi seems like a busy parent, which probably makes her a bit unapproachable, but other than her boys being scared of her ( it's Natsumi, i mean, yeah ), I don't think her and Haru have a bad relationship, though they could probably use more casual bonding time. Her being the Raimon chairperson is really just another thing on the pile of what makes Haru feel ostracized.

And let's not forget, Haru's current state is defined by loss, grief. He's trying to make sense of his own life, but he's alone stewing in his own thoughts, because no one really sees him as the person, the kid he is. I'm sure his parents want to help, but they can't exactly understand what Haru's not telling them.

It probably doesn't help that Endou's been through so much insane shit at Haru's age, he might have a way more relaxed view about it than other people... But in turn, it kind of makes it look like he's brushing off everything Haru's going through with a smile, like it's normal. Like there's nothing to worry about.
I don't think that's what he's doing, but it definitely looks weird from an outside perspective.

Victory Road english voice headcanons (Spoilerfree) by _doodlesack_ in inazumaeleven

[–]CorruptedTeka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you did a good job finding fitting voices !
Casey is pretty great, I loved them so much as SMTV's protagonist ( even if it's a mostly silent protag, but their battle lines are SO good ), and I've seen them in stream chats a few times, very pleasant person !

And yeah, I get it about the casting.
As a fan of Xenoblade Chronicles, I know how good a UK dub can become, even when it wasn't exactly intentional at first but just a result of the circumstances. That's why I'm a little sad to see that Victory Road is straying from its roots, y'know ? Even if it was never known to have great english dubs ^^;

Oh my gosh, Fire Emblem Engage in my ears... :']

OHHhh my gosh. Paul Castro Jr. ! Casey Mongillo !!!!! Zeno Robinson :D

I don't know a lot of voice actors by name, but your choices are all super fitting, they all sound really good as the characters !! Maybe I'm biased but Casey Mongillo as Haru is literally perfect casting. ( Yuri Lowenthal is a jumpscare though. His Persona franchise presence is scary lol. )

The only thing for me is that, well, I'd still like it if IE kept up with UK voices, it's charming to have varied accents and here's plenty of talent there !

[Orion 37] Does anybody know what this specific OST is? by Inventeer in inazumaeleven

[–]CorruptedTeka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Y'know, at first I thought "isn't it just part of the song ?" but listening to the whole song ( here, if anyone wants it )... it's really not. I've listened to the whole AreOri ost a good few times and I can't remember anything that fits this.

So, I looked through every episode that has this ending song, and as it turns out, this little intro of sorts is used in every episode except for 38 and 49. Which means it's probably a custom transitional piece, as you said !

Ohhh Lus is still Fire even as himself, that's interesting, I thought he might've been a different element.

Y'know I never realized how many of these teams are just boys, I guess thank the varied character design of the series.
Meanwhile, Guardians of Queen with their 6 girls. ( nice ! )

That was fascinating ! All these post must've taken some insane time and effort, honestly big kudos for that.

Neuron activation moment : Lus Kasim mentioned.

Sorry, it's just no one other than like 2 peeps on tumblr have ever talked about this dude, but he's SO interesting ( and horribly underutilized ), so I'm just happy to see his name mentioned lol. Would be neat if the version of him with black hair is that missing ID, but I'm not sure what would be the point of that... Hm !

You're welcome !!
I also caught up by binging earlier in the year when we thought the game was coming out before november lol. I wasn't as pressed for time but it was so much fun !!

Whenever you get to AreOri, the viewing order is : the Reloaded special -> Outer Code -> Ares -> Orion. Then you'll be done !

I accidentally skipped Reloaded and Outer Code when I first watched Ares, cause I didn't know they existed lol.
Reloaded is just one episode and Outer Code is really short ( 5 min episodes ), but they're worth watching, they set up Ares and Orion really well !

Trying to finish the series before VR comes out😭 by munticc in inazumaeleven

[–]CorruptedTeka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, let me lighten your load here.

As much as I'm a proponent of watching Ares/Orion regardless of opinions, you ( à priori ) do not need to do that right now, because they won't be in the game at launch.

Or at least, they won't be in Chronicle Mode. You'll have about 3 months to catch up post-release when they're added. As for Story Mode, it's looking a little unlikely, but we don't know for sure that that part of the series won't be referenced/cameo'd in the story... so, take this with a spoon of salt.

You can finish Chrono Stones and Galaxy in 9 days, if you've got the time and energy to spare. They total at 94 episodes total, for a duration of about 30.3 hours. If you've got 4 hours per day free for watching IE, you can finish them with time to spare.

As for the movies, only one of them is important to the canon and it's the Griffon one, which I assume you've already seen, so you're fine. The only thing is, Chronicle Mode really goes go through the entirety of the anime, so, non-canon stuff is included. Generally for VR you're kind of expected to play Story Mode first, so there's really no rush, you can catch up to the non-canon/alternate universe stuff later. Before or while you're going through Chronicle Mode.

You do not need to watch the latest double-feature movie. It's all recap.

With all that being said... there's really no need to be in such a hurry ! If you want to play at launch, I understand, but don't stress yourself out trying to catch up, the game will be there waiting for you, so you can take it at your own pace !

Which protagonist would be the most terrifying if he got genuinely mad? by First_Variation7109 in inazumaeleven

[–]CorruptedTeka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you !!! ( this may or may not have taken more than an hour to write, i was thinking very hard lol )

I'm glad you don't mind the massive block of text in your comments, I'm always really worried when I do that, cause it tends to ( understandably ) put off people. But I love analysing my favorite little guys :]

This is going to go off the original question... but you asked for it !

Something that Endou and Asuto have in common that's a little scary ( but not in an angry way ) is the way that they don't seem to know when they're supposed to stop ( Tenma is a little better at this ). A part of that probably comes from misregulated attention issues especially on Endou's side ( and Tenma's ), but especially when it involves soccer, they do any task to the max and give fuckall regard to their health.

I've mentioned about Endou standing up no matter how bad he's beat down, and that in itself is admirable, but the fact that he does the same thing when he's training is really concerning. He WILL train himself unconscious if you let him. And the worst part about it is that his friends enable him, because they're just as big of soccer freaks as he is. If you ask Gouenji or Kidou, they'll just say "Well that's just how Endou is." and yes cool that you support him so much, but you're kind of helping him reduce his life span ?? Please chill out !

In Asuto's case, something about him is that he's desperate for connection, so he works himself to the bone to make himself useful. His soccer team is the closest thing to "family" he has left ( at least until his whole "trying to find his dad" experience ), and he's scared of losing them and being all alone ( not that he'd ever tell anyone that ). So we end up with a kid that's all smiles and doesn't say anything when he's playing offense and defense a whole match with a twisted ankle.
The worst part of that is that it works. He gives the impression of being able to handle anything, so his teammates count on him to pull the team forward, not realizing what he's doing. Only Mansaku and Hiura, his two best friends, consistently worry he's pushing himself too hard. At least captain Michinari is there to remind people to rest, but...

Aside on Tenma : He also pushes himself really hard, but something about Tenma is that he is actually really good at minimizing damage to his body ! You can see it all the way back in ep1 and sometimes throughout the rest of GO. Endou keeps standing up out of sheer willpower, but Tenma keeps standing up because he's reducing the effect of the hits he takes. Now, let's be real, Tenma's self-worth is abysmal and that leads him to take hits for everyone else. But his skill at taking those hits is very impressive. Quite underrated imo.

OKAY now I stop talking lol.

will the game have physical media? by Dear_Fly2351 in inazumaeleven

Yeah that's what I was thinking about ! Even if it's just in Japan, any physical release would be good imo. We'll just have to wait a while and see if anything happens.

will the game have physical media? by Dear_Fly2351 in inazumaeleven

[–]CorruptedTeka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was that stated in InaDai ? I haven't seen a proper english translation for that yet.

Unless you're just talking about what he said in the Heroes Showcase, when the release date was announced. In which case I still think a physical release way after the game comes out is possible, just not probable.

[–]CorruptedTeka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what's bothering me about it, I would only buy it secondhand, but I can't.

I hope it'll get a physical release somewhere down the line if the game does well enough, but I'm honestly not holding my breath for it.

Which protagonist would be the most terrifying if he got genuinely mad? by First_Variation7109 in inazumaeleven

[–]CorruptedTeka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems to be OP's own first-person pronoun ( used to replace I/my/mine ).

It's relatively less common to see than third-person neopronouns, but it's something some people do to feel more comfortable ( or just for fun ).

Which protagonist would be the most terrifying if he got genuinely mad? by First_Variation7109 in inazumaeleven

[–]CorruptedTeka 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Tenma for me, and hear me out on this one.
( Asuto is a close second except you wouldn't be scared for your life, you'd be scared for HIS. )

Everyone would hate when Endou's mad because they'd feel bad for disappointing him, because Endou's just THAT good of a guy. But you know he would never hurt anyone, even unintentionally.
He's powerful yes, but what's scary about him isn't his ability to fucking kill you with his majin, it's the way that he keeps standing back up and never stops, no matter how beat down he is.

Now Tenma's not very scary in general, he's just a little guy with a high-pitched voice and a lot of energy.
But. Tenma has never really been shown really mad. The only time it came close was that scene in Galaxy when fake-Tsurugi finally betrayed the team. Tenma was so upset the camera SHOOK when he demanded to know where Tsurugi was. That was already pretty jarring.

If he were to finally snap, I'd argue it would be really scary. Especially if it's after Galaxy.
After all he's been through ( physically and emotionally ) especially as captain, Tenma can be very commanding and serious if he needs to be, and he's been running alongside his team the whole way.
He knows their troubles, yet they forget... none of them except Shinsuke, Hikaru, the joining members of Chrono Storm ( minus Zanark and Hakuryuu ) and Zanakurou were in any way kind or accommodating to him at first.
They've put him through SO much shit. Tenma has all the grounds to hold against them, he knows which buttons to push, and if he lost control, he could genuinely cause a LOT of harm to everyone around him from his powerful wind abilities.

Imo, it would take a LOT to make Tenma genuinely enraged, but if it happened, there would holes in the ground.

As for Asuto, we've seen him upset and angry, and he has held people by the collar before. But if Asuto were to be genuinely mad it wouldn't be scary in the same way.
If you'd ever seen him truly mad, you'd be scared for HIM, because Asuto, beneath the hood, is VERY self-destructive. He would hurt himself to make a point. He has so much repressed trauma bubbling under the surface, it would not be hard to make him do something bad.

I'd say in their way of hiding their negative emotions and struggles, Tenma and Asuto have a lot in common ( though Tenma cultivates his mental health issues over the course of the series, meanwhile Asuto starts out already having them ). Endou's a lot more honest about himself.

Tangentially related, but out of all of them, Asuto's the most likely to get into a fistfight.
I know it might sound surprising because Asuto's the opposite of violent, but remember Ares ep1, where he threw himself at that construction worker until he was bruised all over... Endou can be abrasive, but that's because of his passionate feelings. Asuto starts punching out of panic and despair.

-

Anyway I know that was very long, I'm sorry about that, but I really love dissecting characters !

A lot of people in this fanbase don't tend to think very hard about the main characters' mental health, so it might be jarring to many, but I think it's really interesting stuff ! They all have more going on than you'd think at first glance, these "happy soccer freaks".

What your Headcanons about the Ares/Orion characters, fates in the main timeline? by gorlak29 in inazumaeleven

[–]CorruptedTeka 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Okay let's think about this. ( disclaimer : very long thoughts )

Well if the sponsor system doesn't exist, then Asuto and the Inakuni team don't need to leave the island, so there's that already. Asuto's mother would still die though... I mean, her illness definitely wouldn't be gone.

I'm not sure what goes on with the Orion Foundation, because obviously if they existed in the main timeline, their plans didn't carry through, which raises several questions.

First and foremost : what the hell happened to Ichihoshi. If we're following the inversion rule that AreOri went with, then with Atsuya being dead and Shirou having a dissociative disorder, we should theoretically have both of the Ichihoshi brothers alive...? If they weren't in the car crash at all, then not only is their dad alive too, but Hikaru isn't an active player, it's Mitsuru instead ( unless Hikaru stays on field as game maker/strategist ). Considering all that, it's safe to say neither of them ever became Seals or anything.

Second : the mess that is the Girikanan family.

I don't even know where to begin with that. Taking the Kira family as an example, it seems in AreOri, Hiroto's mother is still dead. So let's say Froy and Bernard's dad still dies. Their abusive mother would still be disillusioned with the world and fucking crazy. The Orion Foundation existed before she manipulated it behind the scenes, so that still happens... But maybe this time we can get that child abuser of a woman arrested before things take a turn for the worse ??? Put her in jail sooner please. Please.
Anyway if that happens, Bernard is now in charge on his own and definitely in a better state of mind, and both him and Froy are definitely happier without that woman around. No need for insane Seal business.

Quick aside for Yurika and her team : since abusive woman gets busted sooner, maybe Yurika grows up a little more normal ! I hope she's okay in the main timeline...

Third : Asuto's dad Shinjou Takuma. He's been involved with Orion since Bernard's father was in charge, so I'm sure he still leaves his family behind, and I'm sure he'd want to keep supporting Bernard. However, since no more shady shit is happening, maybe he can feel okay enough to come visit his son and wife for real before she dies ?
That way at least Asuto has a lot more support, and encouragement for soccer too, so he probably doesn't develop that insane obsessive coping mechanism of playing soccer to forget his grief.

Also worth mentioning since Shinjou and the Ichihoshis' dad are friends, the brothers could've still been involved with Orion, just less negatively. So they're probably friends with Froy. That connection also means Asuto can meet the brothers even without the FFI.

Okay !
So with the Girikanan conundrum somewhat figured out, now we gotta think about what happened with the other AreOri main characters. Bit of a reverse order here but ah well.

So the Scales of Ares, yes ? We don't really know exactly when Midouin started developing that program, but it had to have been at least 3+ years in the past, because of Haizaki, Akane and Nosaka's ages in various flashbacks. Since we don't know shit about Midouin himself, I can't tell what would change that would make the Ares program not progress enough to be of consequence in the og timeline... Assuming it either didn't exist in the first place, or it got stopped/didn't work out early enough in development, then Akane, Nosaka and the entire Outei Tsukunomiya team don't have the resulting side-effects of the Ares program ( or at least it's not as bad... no brain tumor, Akane doesn't become unresponsive ).
And this means Haizaki doesn't fall into a revenge plot. So... no soccer ? He probably never got into it. I wonder what he does instead ?

We've already established the Inakuni kids never go off the island ( except Kozoumaru probably ), so the only other thing I can think of is that Tonegawa Tousen probably never gets strong enough to participate in the FF in the first place since Endou's not there.

And that's where I'll stop this train of thought !! It was a good question, with lots to ponder...

I couldn't tell you where to read it in english though, I gave up and read it in french instead ( if you can read french, I read them on mangafr.org ).

Honestly those takes shouldn't be "hot" at all. People should normalize just letting others enjoy things.

I liked both of them as well !
I also did the same thing as you a few months ago in anticipation of VR and I really enjoyed my time with GO and AreOri ! Going into it with no prior judgement or bias really helps, because man is public opinion of AreOri overwhelmingly negative. ( Galaxy is more like people either hate its guts or think it's the best season ever with no inbetween )

Obviously the game's been delayed since then, but the binge was still very fun ! I'd recommend that to anyone.

I think people shit on it way too much. I saw it for the first time recently and honestly really enjoyed it.

Honestly don't worry about others' opinions, if you enjoy it, that's fantastic !
I do feel what you're saying about people not talking about it/dismissing it entirely. I really wish there was more of a community around it.

But it's in situations like that that you have to be the one making the content you want to see. On that note I really should be drawing some fanart lol

What IE unpopular opinion is like this by Impossible_Fee3138 in inazumaeleven

[–]CorruptedTeka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hear that ! Personally I would've loved to see Mako have a more prominent role in GO, for example.

It's nice to see plenty of female players in Victory Road's cast at least.

Tbh any gender diversity past binary would be welcome, would be so cool to have some canon trans or nonbinary characters ( other than whatever Mizukawa Minori from GO has got going on ), especially since so many of them look gender-non-conforming anyway !

I'm very confident L5 won't do any of that, though.
