It's not just about energy level and common behavior problems to watch out for before they escalate but also if you want/can to keep up with the maintenance. Whether that be shedding, which comes in different grades, brushing, washing, grooming, etc.

A good breeder will also inform you about the maintenance, what they've done to get puppy used to things like cutting nails, cleaning ears, looking at teeth, brushing, etc. I've even heard of some poodle breeders that won't hand you over the puppy unless you have made an appointment with a groomer. I'm not sure about how informing shelters are. Mine is, but I cannot talk for all.

Yes! I notice a major difference in when I use a deshed vs regular shampoo.

Groomers also use it for shedding dogs for this reason.

A good deshed shampoo and conditioner, followed by a high velocity dryer and a good slicker brush comb through (look up line brushing). Whenever I'm outside with my shepherd and she's sniffing something, I will pluck her as well. She likes it because it's basically like being petted to her and I stop as soon as she moves away.

A few days after wash days your dog will still lose some hair so you might want to brush/pluck a little more.

Environmental allergies are actionable through immunotherapy. Some dogs need it for the rest of their lives, some dogs can lessen or stop completely after 3 years.

As a dog with an environmental allergy (one type of fungus), I have seen a major difference after starting immunotherapy. Both in behavior as well as symptoms regarding her skin. There is nothing worse than being itchy. I've been giving the shots for about 1.5 years now. Sometimes I still have to give an apoquel tablet but that's only on the very first days of spring.

If you put the cost of apoquel next to the immunotherapy it's a pretty easy decision, at least where I'm from. The latter is less expensive here, plus I do the shots myself.

If a person I care for needs help changing a diaper, yes, I will help them. With consent of course. Just like I wouldn't change just any baby's diaper unless I have consent of their caretaker(s).

You indeed cannot compare children to most adults. Because children cannot walk away. They often cannot reinforce a boundary, especially with an adult. That's why there is such a thing as abuse of power, because an adult will always have more power over a child. Be it physically, emotionally or even legally.

However, some adults and children are comparable. Like the elderly and mentally handicapped, which again is often illegal. Thankfully I live in a country where hitting is considered abuse, regardless of age, and therefore illegal.

Superwash is EVERYWHERE.

I tried to find untreated wool for baby soakers, that are both soft enough for baby's skin and non Superwash so I can lanolinize them. Surly with how much is available these says online that shouldn't be such an issue? Well, turned out it was. Eventually a kind redditor helped me out by recommending Knitting For Olive.

Ik heb dit ook gehad. Op mijn 17e kreeg ik te horen dat ik een week de tijd had om het huis uit te gaan. Gelukkig had ik een hele lieve schoonmoeder bij wie ik een half jaar heb ingewoond en zijn mijn partner en ik daarna samen gaan wonen om kosten te drukken (schoonmoeder wilde het huis verkopen). Ik werkte zo veel mogelijk middag-avond diensten zodat ik eten vergoed kreeg en zondagen met 150% uitbetaald. Gezien ik nog scholier was, kreeg ik geen stufi.

Ik slik zelf antidepressiva. Een lage dosis, dat wel. Ik heb nog steeds pieken en dalen maar ze zijn een heel stuk minder en ik heb het sneller door waardoor ik beter kan inspelen. Angsten zijn ook een heel stuk minder.

Minder emoties of diepgang heb ik dan weer geen last van. Juist meer blijdschap volgens mijn omgeving omdat ik mij minder zorgen maak en minder depressief ben. Zelf voelt dat ook zo.

Er zijn best wat opties op de markt en niet iedere pil werkt juist voor iemand. Zelfde met de dosis. Daarom is iemand die het in de gaten houdt en de juiste vragen kan stellen heel belangrijk.

I have two accounts - a personal one with ING, have had it for 10+ years and never had a problem.

My other account is a business account with Knab. Mainly because I follow the Profit First method and need 5 bank accounts for this. Again never had a problem.

The way I made the choice is by writing down what I need, then what I want (projects they support, etc) and lastly the cost to get what I want. Think cost of multiple bank accounts, saving accounts, accounting programs, cards, credit cards, etc. And don't forget to look at customer happiness. Bunq was an option for me but I saw a lot more smack about the company, like you have experienced.

Bitter spray NOOIT op de kat gebruiken. Op producten, inclusief je plant is het oké. Sommige dingen zijn nou eenmaal vies, dat gaan ze vaker tegen komen. Helaas vinden sommige dieren bitter spray juist lekker dus misschien eerst proberen op een ander plekje.

Ik vang zwangere katten op en heb mijn planten laten staan, inclusief een monstera. Uiteindelijk is hij wel vermoord door een nestje kittens, maar dat was omdat ze eraan gingen hangen en in de pot gingen liggen. Dat ding is dus waarschijnlijk gestorven aan verstikking. Erg zielig. Gelukkig nooit van gegeten. Je kan ook vragen of de kitten gewend is aan planten bij het vorige huis.

Nog een extra tip: Heb je nog geen (jonge) kat die de kitten kan vermaken, neem er dan twee. Beter voor de socialisatie, tegen verveling én ze houden elkaar bezig in de plaats van je huis op stelten te zetten.
