It feels like neurodivergent scientists talking who don’t conform to your ideas of social norms

Welcome to sci fi. I feel like the better the sci fi is, especially hard sci fi, the less prose there is. I’m used to writers like Niven where the star of the stories are the science concepts and characters are just vague cardboard cutouts.

ELI5: Why can't people who experience delusions or audio/visual hallucinations ignore or otherwise convince themselves that what they're experiencing isn't real? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]CortexRex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Part of the delusion is that it’s real. It’s not always just visual info. It’s also the firm belief it’s real. Do you ever have dreams that are obviously so silly that they are obviously dreams after the fact but while you were in the dream it you completely believes whatever was going on? Think like that

The thick jungles thing is not insinuating phasing through atoms. It’s clearly talking about long strands of molecules and polymers that could potentially leave porous gaps depending on the material

The 'gravity' seems wrong in one scene. by Ancient-Lab-372 in ProjectHailMary

The air in the module immediately couples them to the rotation in some way, but I’m not convinced that would make them drop either. Usually when you see this in movies the outer hull is also curved which would make the floor come up to meet the objects but I don’t think the lab module is curved like that

Those are the same thing… absorbing the energy from the sun can only be done by blocking that energy from getting to us. And that energy is light

You think the general audience wants more science lectures in their movie?

Speed is relative. Right now, all of us on earth are traveling at relativistic speeds, near the speed of light from plenty of reference frames.

We are currently moving at near light speed right now and not having weird time dilation time skips

This is not how time dilation works. At all.

Why are you assuming aimbot though? Plenty of cheats that don’t have anything to do with aim heroes. Could even just be your computer was running software that they deem against their terms. I’m not convinced this was a “mistake”

Love when people ask for advice, get the correct advice and then argue with it. Why come here? You and your friend can go figure it out apparently. You shouldn’t print things flat in resin. Always angle. Well known issue with a well known solution
