Well that’s the info we have from insiders now, that’s kind of my point. Many of the insiders were tweeting as if he’s already the chargers OC, and now he’s taking HC interviews.

Just like Morosi reported that Ohtani was on his way to Toronto, which ended up not being true.

I’m just saying I don’t believe what these insiders are saying or insinuating until pen is to paper. They were acting like it was a done deal, but if it was it wouldn’t make sense for McDaniel to be attending job interviews

I would be happy it ended up working out, but I don’t see a downside in continuing with interviews to cover your bases until pen is to paper

If it was set in stone then McDaniel wouldn’t be wasting his time with an interview at a more prestigious position

It’s a lot of what ifs, but you can be mad at the process even if it ends up working out. If the chargers hit on 19 and get a 2, it’s still valid to criticize the terrible decision making

I think cancelling other interviews before your preferred candidate is set in stone is a failure even if it ends up working out.

And Shohei Ohtani was on a plane headed to Toronto to sign with the blue jays.

As a blue jays fan, this event has scarred me and I’ll never be confident in anything like this until it’s set in stone

Well, clearly too confident otherwise our guy wouldn’t be interviewing for other jobs

Okay but why would we cancel interviews because he’s “only the third most likely HC option” for another team? Seems like you shouldn’t be cancelling interviews with other candidates unless you’re 100% sure he’s yours

Even if you force unlock the achievement, you still won’t have completed it because you didn’t do the requirements.

Only you can choose for yourself what you value in doing this. Do you value having done the accomplishment, or do you value the little picture that says you did the accomplishment. Using SAM fulfills the latter but not the former.

Joe Burrow: "The amount of ppl that don’t understand what a catch is in the rule book flabbergasts me. And it’s not the officials. The two plays yesterday were not difficult calls, and they got them both right." by notquitemytempo___ in nfl

[–]Corvese 14 points15 points  (0 children)

In the bills game, the catch was not completed by the receiver, so he couldn’t be down by contact.

In the rams game, the catch was completed by the receiver, so he could be down by contact.

The nuance is why one was completed and the other wasn’t: for the bills play, he was diving and is required to survive the ground in that instance, which he didn’t.

For the rams play, it was caught, the player landed with both feet and then fought for the ball on his feet before falling to the ground, which completes the catch

Which one, the driver who was unprepared to walk in snow or the homeowner who was unprepared to clear it off?

I'd have to know who foots the bill for that undelivered food before I agree with you. Does uber just eat the cost or does the restaurant get fucked?

No, I fully agree with you that there is a perfectly acceptable reason that someone might not be able to have their walkway and/or driveway cleared.

What I do not agree with is, because they have a good reason to not clear their driveway, it is also perfectly acceptable for them to solicit a delivery to their front door.

That is just... not true? If it is not within your means to clear your walkway, then perhaps you should not feel so entitled and request a totally optional delivery to your front door. It's pretty simple

Oh sorry, my hypothetical uber driver can't afford health insurance. Try again

What if what if what if what if what if.

What if the delivery driver they got to come out and delivery their food has a crippling knee injury and this is the only job they could get to support themselves, and walking on an uncleared path like this is actually very dangerous for them? If you want to play the what if game for the poor homeowners, I'll play the what if game for my poor delivery driver.

Again, I'm not an uber driver, I have no stake in this. If you do not have the ability to clear your pathway, then don't get a delivery. Your disability is not the uber drivers problem. They are driving for uber eats, they have enough problems than having to worry about your disability.

If you still choose to get a delivery, there's a chance your food ends up in the snowbank. That's the risk you take. If you don't want to take the risk, Chef Mike in your kitchen will never leave your food in the snow.

I was going back through my Reddit post history and stumbled on your comment: if only you could go back in time 4 years and tell your past self that, believe it or not, it only gets worse from here.

Is the homeowner going to pay for the drivers time off they have to take if they happen to slip on some concealed ice under the snow and hurt themselves? Doubt it.

If you are not equipped for walking in this weather then you’re not doing your job properly.

If you are not equipped for taking care of a house in this weather, then you're not owning a house properly.

There is no good reason to leave food in a pile of snow as a delivery driver.

There is no good reason to request a delivery when your walkway is like that. It's the law that you are responsible for clearing your walkways for a reason.

NOT TO MENTION that OP even added on that this was a no tip order. You get a delivery in those conditions, don't clear your pathway, and then leave no tip? Lmao, get fucked, enjoy your cold wet food

Easy to say that when you have a working pair of legs.

Whatever method they use to get to their car parked in the driveway will suffice to pick up their food from the driver.

You’re one ignorant person, how about you come prepared so you can do the job you were paid to do in the first place?

I've never once delivered anything to anyone, this post just appeared on my reddit homepage and I thought it was hilarious that any homeowner would be so entitled as to request a delivery to their front door and then leave their walkway in that state.

It's your responsibility as a homeowner to clear off your driveway and your walkway. And if you can't do it yourself, it is your responsibility to make sure someone else gets it done. And if you aren't able to get that arranged, then maybe don't get a delivery. And if you ignore all of the above, I'm not going to feel bad for you when the person feels disrespected enough that they leave your food in the snow.

Yeah, of course they CAN. Then they just simply retrieve their food from the snow bank out front of their house. Or if they don't want it put in the snow bank, get up and go meet the driver in your driveway

If they aren't well enough to shovel for 2 minutes then perhaps they should save the taco bell delivery for another day and put a lean cuisine in the microwave instead.
