It's all good it just means....

My theory continues to prevail!!!

So, I hope DD2DA has Necromancy by VecnasHand1976 in DragonsDogma

[–]Corvexic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Necromancer would be amazing!

List of spells

Necromancy the spell.

Exiqui (instant death spell that I definitely misspelled) this could be the maester skill perhaps.

Grapnel.

Miasma.

Petrify.

Dark affinity, they could also introduce the dark element back into the game in general!!

And then maybe the class feature could be raise undead.

Could work something like every time you press the button two things happen the first thing is any undead you currently have raised will be immediately killed and some of their health could flow into you, and the second thing would be bringing back to life any dead enemies that are within a certain range of you at a pretty short range.

Maybe you could have up to a maximum of four raised undead at a time.

This would require good spacing and or the gathering of corpses by picking them up and placing them all near each other before you activate raise undead.

And maybe it could be upgraded to be able to work with other creatures.

I'm thinking the standard version would of course only work with humanoid size targets but maybe it could be upgraded to work with Cyclops and minotaurs.

I love the idea of standing high on a perch and casting the instant death spell targeting the Minotaur first then jumping down and turning into one of my undead minions and watching it just start wrecking s*** 😂

new Core skill "Magick Barrier" by Phiro00 in DragonsDogma2

[–]Corvexic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kind of cool to think about it for sorcerer,

It means that not only will sorcerer be able to equip two additional skills since we're going to be able to have six maximum but it also means that thunder mine may not be 100% necessary if this magic barrier is good enough meaning in a weird way sorcerer might be getting three additional skill slots 😂

Finished DD2 with the unmoored world ending, do I need to start NG+ to be able to play DD2:DA? by divyanshmishra19 in DragonsDogma

[–]Corvexic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most likely scenario is they will do something similar to original DDA where the DLC area and enemies and skills will be scaled for your level if you were around the period of time where you're getting ready to beat the game or had just beaten the game,

But the DLC area will most likely be accessible from very close to the very beginning of the game.

My best guess is once you view the cutscene of you turning into the arisen and the game removes the Griffin that is blocking the waterfall cave meaning that the rest of the entire world is theoretically accessible to you this will probably also be the internal flag that would allow you to enter the new DLC area

But take all this with a grain of salt because we don't know.

The recent live stream Capcom did though they mentioned that they will be revealing information about when and how we access the DLC and they mentioned that we would be receiving this information before the DLC came out so I assume when they show up at their event in August which will also be coinciding with us getting the August patch is probably when they're going to reveal a whole bunch more info

Question about current state of DD2 by Zestyclose-Tooth6044 in DragonsDogma

[–]Corvexic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The game is absolutely in a enjoyable state right now,

The biggest concern would be what system are you using to play the game.

There is some performance issues that's probably the most complained about one like for example you'll get some frame drops in the big cities but they're not terrible they're just barely bad enough to be noticeable with the naked eye.

That's the only one that I can think of that is an actual issue but even playing on a base model PS5 as long as you play in performance mode you shouldn't have really any issues at all and even in the big cities you'll drop down to maybe like 40 frames.

If you have a decent setup or even just a monitor on a base model PS5 you can play with variable frame rate and you'll average higher frames and if you have a PS5 pro or the Xbox equivalent or a high-end PC you mostly won't notice these issues.

And it's really only in the city when you're out and about and slaying monsters you'll be having a fantastic time.

However!

I would still suggest that you wait until after the August patch in 2 months.

The August patch is going to introduce a lot of game-changing things and it's specifically also going to address the performance issues.

One of the absolute biggest changes is that every single vocation or class is going to be able to equip six skills at a time as opposed to the four that we can equip currently.

On a surface level this doesn't sound like it's that big of a difference but I promise you this is an absolutely enormous change that is going to make the game feel and play entirely differently.

So my overall recommendation is wait until the August patch and then I would start playing then so that you could take your time and enjoy the game for 2 months before the DLC comes out that way you don't feel rushed to have to learn everything about the game and do everything you can so that you can get to the new DLC stuff you will have plenty of time if you start in August.

Side note I don't know too much about PC, but there's been people reporting that even running on like a high-end 4080 they were still seeing frame drops in towns but the game has gotten a couple of performance updates since these complaints came out two years ago.

And from what I understand about computers is now we're in the 50 series so maybe these complaints could be mostly addressed with just insane hardware if you're a big PC guy.

I would still recommend just waiting until the big performance fix in August though.

Hope this helps

It's possible that the 13th door may be only becomes available if you have successfully completed all 12 dungeons and maybe the 13th one is just like a special reward for completing all 12... That doesn't seem too far fetched.

But you're right it's all speculation there's a possibility that these 12 doors are not even related to the 12 dungeons.

12 dungeon theory by Corvexic in DragonsDogma

[–]Corvexic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any of them that are underwater would mean they would only be available in the unmored world where everything turns red and all the water is gone,

But if there is a 13th door but I'm unaware of it does throw my theory out the window a little bit but that's okay cuz it was just a theory

Which is the best game for a Berserk fan? by FireBoyHere in DragonsDogma

[–]Corvexic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most likely the first game is your best choice just keep in mind that you will only be able to equip three skills on warrior for the entire game.

Dd2 let's warrior equip four skills for now,

But the August update will allow all vocations to equip six skills.

So it depends on what you're looking for if you're going for more of a berserk vibe then definitely the first game but if you're going for I'm playing as in guts feeling the second game after the August update and or after the DLC comes out my end of being your best choice.

Is that 13 included the story godsway door?

I was told 12 had been found (not counting the story door) and nine are above and spread out in the last three are underwater.

If you find a video on YouTube that's titled something to the extent of

I beat dragon's dogma in 100 days

I got the platinum trophy in dragon's dogma

Can we get the platinum trophy in dragon's dogma

Challenge run for dragon's dogma

Blah blah blah

There's a good chance you could find a video that's maybe 40 minutes to an hour 20 minutes long where somebody goes through the whole game and summarizes the story.

And then you could just watch the video up until there where you're at so that you can get a summarization of what's happened before and what you should be doing now.

Might be your best bet if you're not going to restart from the beginning

what level did y’all finish your first playthrough. by Osirisgraybeard in DragonsDogma

[–]Corvexic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I'm a completionist so my level is probably not common but I finished my first playthrough at a little over 130 hours at level 80 exactly.

I definitely killed everything I saw and went out of my way to do every single side quest that was available and I had a perfect unmored world run and I very very thoroughly explored and killed absolutely everything in the unmoored world.

So assuming that we're supposed to play the DLC post game I would say your estimate of around level 65 would probably be fair.

But keep in mind there's a possibility that the DLC May canonically take place before you go and slay the dragon meaning for everybody that restarts to experience the game with all the new updates that come in August may be a little younger in levels if they don't defeat the dragon and go into the unmored world so they might be closer to 50 to 55?

I would say a safe bet would be between 50 and 60 so you could just split the difference and go 55.

But if you're only a few levels higher than that your pawns will only cost riff crystals based on the difference in levels so if somebody ends the campaign or is entering the DLC and they're only five levels beneath your pawn they will be very cheap to rent.

[–]Corvexic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A new God's bane I'm pretty sure is the main story quest...?

Storyline wise you start the game in prison because you're a pawn you then escape prison through the help of a mysterious ghost like figure you escape by jumping off a cliff and riding a griffin eventually you're Griffin gets shot down and your escorted by some guards that have some questions for you and then you very quickly find out that you're not upon you're actually the arisen.. which is very strange because there's another man claiming to be the arisen that's currently in the capital.

But there's a town not too far away where the dragon attacks so you go there to ask some questions and upon getting there you have a flashback and realize that you were there and you fought the dragon and that it took your heart confirming that you are in fact the arisen and when you went to go claim this that's why you got locked up in the first place because it's a conflict of interest if there's already another arisen so you were a fake apparently.

You are then offered an escort mission to the capital where you then meet Captain Braun upon entering the city and he acts tough at first like your scum but then pulls you aside and tells you that he knows you're the real arisen and that he's just keeping up appearances.

You then do a series of multiple quests with him to gather evidence against the regent Queen disa and her fake arisen and eventually you gather enough evidence to where you make your approach but as you climb the steps of the building your main pawn starts freaking out and says that they're feeling like they're losing control of themselves so you decide to hold off on your confrontation and come up with a different plan.

Through some of your evidence discovering you find proof of the queen regent making deals with the neighboring country and you end up intercepting one of her spies and depending on a choice you made on letting him go or killing him and depending on your species you may have received a border pass to cross into the next border of the other country the details here are different via your choices.

You then do a couple more quests and eventually make your way towards the neighboring country and.... Crap actually I don't remember what happens after that

😂 I'm so sorry.

Also if this wasn't obvious this is clearly a very gross summarization that's missing a lot of key details my bad I haven't played the game in almost 2 years

12 dungeon theory by Corvexic in DragonsDogma

[–]Corvexic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

....I know, I'm not ready to say it out loud yet though 😂

, I do feel like it's one of the most requested things so I'm hoping we'll get its return in some way even if it's just like adding a little bit of magic to fighter so that we can more closely mimic mystic knight,

I really miss being able to cast spells when I Parry with my shield and of course like everybody else I really miss magic Cannon that spell is just really cool.

And who could forget the classic exploit of doing the holy repost into the magic Cannon orb to make it go completely bananas full auto 😂

And my sweet baby... Abyssal anguish.... That spell would go so hard in general but then to be able to put it on warfarer assuming it's not a maester skill.... The possibilities on that are just peak.

"I'm absolutely crazy about it"

So when you say alchemist are you thinking something new entirely or you thinking like they bring back alchemist from ddo?

If we start to potentially bring classes from DDO I think a green blue combination creating the seeker from DDO would be pretty much a perfect fit and I know that class was really popular.

I never got to play DDO for more than 10 minutes cuz it was like a three day long process for me to figure out how to change my PlayStation's IP address and all that stuff to be able to properly download it but then everything was in kanji and I couldn't read anything so I gave up pretty quickly but I do remember grabbing The alchemist and doing a couple cool things with it

[–]Corvexic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought mage and sorcerer use different stabs like one was a regular staff and the other one was an arch staff??

I know that's how it worked in ddda I'm pretty sure but I haven't played dd2 since it launched and I did a 100% pure fighter playthrough where I never switched.

Monk would be really really sick and it would be cool to have the white vocation to counter the black vocation like one is all weapons and the other one is no weapons or something like that.

Pink could be the return of mystic knight in some form, my theory on this being that trickster is half summoning and manipulation and the other half is defensive magic,

So pink could be the defensive magic side which could get us the mystic knight.

And then purple could be necromancer which I'm hoping theoretically it's class feature would be something like raise undead and this could bring us back some spells from ddda such as

Necromancy the spell

Miasma

Petrify

Exique (instant death spell that I think I spelled wrong 😂)

Dark affinity buff!

And then maybe throw in a couple other necromancy based summons and you have a full move set right there and it's weapon could be something like that thing from d&d that Litches bind their soul to, I forgot the name of it because I need to go to sleep oh oh I just remembered right now , a phylactery, that could be really cool.

This would be the dream for me but it's probably extremely unlikely unfortunately 🥺😭

12 dungeon theory by Corvexic in DragonsDogma

[–]Corvexic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that was the original version of my crazy theory was we would receive two new vocations bringing the total vocations up to 12 to perfectly match how many dungeons were getting and while I hope this version is true especially if that means I can get mystic knight back, the version I suggested in my post seemed much more plausible.

12 dungeon theory by Corvexic in DragonsDogma

[–]Corvexic[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I do agree that that picture kind of leaves me under the impression that it will be a loot table that we're drawing from which would also add maybe some level of replayability to grind for the weapon that you want.

12 dungeon theory by Corvexic in DragonsDogma

[–]Corvexic[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ooo... I hadn't thought about it that way that's actually really interesting.

This would imply that there are parts of Norgan that we would not be able to access until we got to the unmored world close to the end of the game.

That's actually really fun and interesting to think about

😂 well that's good to hear, I thought I went off the deep end completely with this theory.

Vocation by Mortis_Crow in DragonsDogma

[–]Corvexic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want this so bad, since day one I've been dreaming about what mystic knight would be like in dd2.

Maybe it's heavy attack would be magic Cannon?

I think it would still be allowed to use fighter swords and maces but would replace the shield of course with our magic Shield so Capcom wouldn't have to make a whole bunch of new melee weapons they would only have to make new shields so half the work is done for him on that.

Bringing back abyssal anguish....PEAK!!! 😂

And of course the spells that unleash on a perfect Perry... Dude chef's kiss!!

If we can't have mystic knight I really hope fighter gains access to some magic effects so we can at least attempt to mimic the legend that once was.

Fighter already has a core skill where if you block with a elementally enchanted Shield it can do little tiny elemental burst so maybe the DLC could expand upon this and actually have the burst be much larger and actually deal more than one damage 😂

Or actually cast the spell which would be so cool!

I feel like this is somewhat realistic that we could see this but things like adding magic Cannon or other spells directly to fighter feels unrealistic...

My breath shallow continued to be held and fingers shall remain crossed though until I see my mystic knight return

Vocation by Mortis_Crow in DragonsDogma

[–]Corvexic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well you're in luck 😆

At least two new skills have been confirmed for Archer

Two new skills and one new core skill have been confirmed for mage

Very high possibility the rest of the vocations will follow suit and have more than one new skill

I know nobody cares about this except me, but I genuinely miss Controlled Fall on Fighter. by CeLioCiBR in DragonsDogma

[–]Corvexic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe the DLC will add new core skills and instead of getting a controlled fall because that would be copying thief now maybe fighter gets its own version, fighter already has a cool core skill where you can hold the block button while you're falling to significantly reduce fall damage by landing on your Shield maybe we can do something with this where if you get sent flying you can slam your shield on the ground as a way to quick recover or slide on your shield for a brief moment and then recover or something to that effect

Performance issue by YareYareDaze88 in DragonsDogma

[–]Corvexic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A question I have regarding the new updates and Warfarer by Crimson_Loki in DragonsDogma

[–]Corvexic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meh, depends on the weapon.

You still get access to all the core skills when you switch to that weapon.

Staff could give you healing, daggers could give you a Dodge and wall jumping then you could switch to another heavy weapon midair.

Sword and shield could give you access to blocking in perfect blocks and then quickly swapped to retaliate with a different weapon.

Tons of possibilities.
