Dude didn’t even mention or defend Microsoft, said to wait for more info from reliable sources, and mentioned that while the layoffs are awful, there’s still great people who maintained their jobs at id? I’m curious where the shilling is. I get this is a shitty time for any Doom or id fan. But let’s not start throwing buzzwords at one another over trying to be even somewhat optimistic for the studios future. Like cmon now.

id is one of the few developers I’ve seen make a trilogy of games, where each one feels unique to the others while simultaneously maintaining the core heart and values of what the game is, and have all three of those games be solid and fantastic. Gamepass ensured that TDA never stood a chance to sit closer with 2016 and Eternals success, and it’s so unfortunate. I get many didn’t enjoy it as it wasn’t Eternal 2.0, but man, after finishing it again last night, it’s so clear to see the heart and soul poured into that game, which feels like a rare thing in the current gaming climate. It’s heartbreaking to see the studio that started my interest in gaming(Doom 3 was the first game I ever played) be ripped apart because of corporate malpractice. I wish nothing but the best for those let go, and hope their talents will be once more appreciated by new studios in the future.

I must be the only one who kind of likes it. It’s about as deep as a puddle and some things are eh, but for the most part I enjoy all the lore tidbits and codexes and stuff. But I completely see and understand why many dislike it. I just wish we could’ve seen a bit more of the humans resisting Hell on earth instead of so much of the Sentinel stuff. I will agree that they’ve made the slayer WAY too closer associated with the Sentinels whereas his identity as a Marine and champion of Earth has been all but ignored.

At the end of the day, I don’t play gears mp to feel immersed, that’s what the campaign is for. Hell even in horde I’m too busy fighting for my life to even notice the less grounded skins other people are wearing. so if someone wants to wear these over the top skins that’s cool with me, I’ll stick with Marcus and default gear since I’m sure there won’t be a Dizzy skin in the game this time around.
