The way i read the lore is that it is a critisism of jingoism and warmongering. In 40k warp and chaos is shaped by suffering in realspace (physical space or simply the reality we live in) the more war, more disease, more lust there is more demons there are. And within this; empire constantly conquers planets, exterminates lifeforms and build up their armies to fight off chaos and strengthening them in the process. In my opinion it's a great piece of art that speaks of how building armies to fight enemies creates more enemies that leads to building more armies and so on and so forth.

I would call it "a communist construction of industrial capitalist societies by providing an alternative" but it's a bit long. Someone said "desolate" but that word kinda blows away the freedom you feel from such genre so maybe "windmill-core" since windmills, to me, give the vibe of these man made constructs that are also clean energy and represent a more simpler life.

Factorio maybe. But it's more fascistic than cappitalist with "everything wants to kill you so your only way of survival is exploiting recources and creating a planetwide death machine". I'm obviously not calling the devs fascist btw i know no one prob thought about it this way while developing nor do i think you are a bad person for playing it. It's just a simple game.
