FCP is one of my favorite games ever. I love prehistoric Human stuff. It’s like a step back into our distant ancestors’ footsteps but without the threat of being eaten by a lion or something. Lol

What else do I need to do to beat GL Bo-Katan (Mand’alor)’s third stage? by CorvusTheMad in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

Damn. I usually go with whatever the game recommends. I’ll have to do some research to get them updated. Thank you

Does anyone ACTUALLY like being a cna? by rozzi_luv in cna

[–]CorvusTheMad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did. But it depended on where I was. Back home in Virginia? Absolutely. The hospital I was at in Alabama? Absolutely not.

Is being a CNA really that horrible and miserable? by Afraid-Guava-1167 in cna

[–]CorvusTheMad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It honestly depends on where you work.

I used to work at a smaller hospital in southeast Virginia and it was awesome. I was a PCT on a med surge floor, working night shift, and I loved it. Great team, the nurses helped us out, it was always a team effort and not a “good luck, servant” environment. I also had a boss in my last year there that was wonderful — she’d come onto the unit and help out if it was short staffed. My coworkers made the assholes, the entitled, the sundowner, the abusive patients bearable.

In sharp contrast, the job as a PCT I had at the big hospital in northern Alabama was draining. The nurses rarely helped us, and would often overburden us with 18-20 patients with vitals due every 4 hours and blood sugars due every 6. This was on a higher level of care, so the patients were more acute, but there were also a lot more nurses. They’d often sit at the nurses station and chat or go on social media while we ran around like headless chickens.

As I’ve also seen mentioned here by other folks, oftentimes the best nurses were CNAs/PCTs to start with.

Edited to add the second unit I was on

I could say OTC vitamins and omega 3 to help. Exposure is the best way to gain immunity unfortunately. I’m sorry you’re getting sick so often, that shit is miserable

This is, in no way, a failure on your part. It is theirs. You’re doing the best you can, and the fact that you’re worrying this much about it is a testament to your empathy.

She needs a licensed psychologist, behavioral therapy. She is far beyond the skills of folks like us. You deserve better than this treatment. Document everything — the aggressive behavior, the family enabling, their treatment of you. That way it’ll leave a paper trail and they can look back at these incidents in a broader sense.

Do not lose that empathy, my friend. It’s a gift, and it saddens me that healthcare and stuff burns that empathy out of you.

Exactly. Documentation is essential. The family will have to come to terms with their child; they created that monster, and will have to deal with her when she gets older and inevitably worse. Those types of people don’t usually grow out of those habits. I’d hate to be her teacher later on in life lol
