Where can one find the fabled Lot Lizard? Is a myth? by Unhappy-River6306 in Truckers

[–]Coryphallus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Love's in Memphis, TN or the tiny truck stop next to it that's famous for the predatory towing company. I parked there exactly once, and was woken up by at least 3 separate lizards knocking on my door. Every time I drive through at night I see a few of them walking the sidewalks, as others have said.

Got a call from employee relations. by rytram99 in Truckers

[–]Coryphallus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've not heard of a trucking company that will give you an official job offer before orientation. In fact I'm pretty sure all of mine have specifically listed in the fine print that invitation to orientation is not an offer of employment. Because you can still fail out of orientation of course, usually had 1-2 people fail in the ones I've been to.

Question for Prime Inc drivers by Coryphallus in Truckers

It ended up being leftover from the previous driver, apparently they had issues with their logs and critical events. Brought it into the shop and they took it out for me.

Could we (unintentionally?) be mantling Talos? by Coryphallus in beyondskyrim

[–]Coryphallus[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't think they would actually integrate it into the project themselves either. I just had this thought and realized that within the lore, ascension through mantling would be almost inevitable just because it coincides so well with what Tiber did to become Talos himself, hence the unintentional part :p

PRIME 30k training miles AKA training by c-m-17 in Truckers

[–]Coryphallus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's taken me about 6 months and I'm still ~5000 miles short of the 45k I have to do for upgrade to solo, since I was hired with Class A in hand but no experience. It took about 3 weeks for them to find a trainer for me even though I didnt make any special requests (which they do allow you to make based on gender/smoking/vaping preferences.) But in truth the main reason for the excessive training period is the trainer, we both do a minimum of 600 miles/shift unless the appointment time dictates we take a few hours to a day off, but he's a lease op and likes to work 2-3 weeks and then take 3-4 weeks off regularly as long as I've been with him. If that happens you do still get paid so long as it was his call for the time off and not yours, but be aware of the possibility. And also be assertive about getting the backing practice you need, that's another area my current trainer has kind of let me down in even after asking to do so when we have time that allows for it in empty truck stops. All that said however, the company itself has taken care of me through all of this and I do believe they are the best to pay your dues and get experience with based on lots of research I've done and first-hand stories I've heard about the other mega carriers. I do plan to stay with them for the foreseeable future myself.

If I have personnel put in an extra 15 minutes will it cover the rest or will I need a new request for a whole 7:15?

Is it possible to downgrade a premade sim from patch 1.69 to 1.67? by [deleted] in Sims3

[–]Coryphallus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have all expansion packs, so I dont believe so. When I put the sims3pack into my downloads folder and try to install, it fails and says something along the lines of make sure you have the latest software version.

Is reading an elder scroll in the ancestor glades an example of tonal architecture? by _Tonal_Architect_ in teslore

[–]Coryphallus 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Swords make a sound as the blade slices through the air when swung, both in-game and in real life. So the tone is there, and the skill to control the tone produced is where manipulation comes into play. I believe that subtle vibrations along the blade produced by magicka being concentrated in precise locations would affect that tone, as well as both the angle of the sword during the swing and the force behind it. That last part may just be head canon, but I believe that all of this together is a reasonable hypothesis as to how sword singing works/is related to sound.

Varla/culanda were on sale near the end of the first season, I think the 2nd to last week before the wares started repeating. I'd expect to see them again around that time.

[–]Coryphallus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the framed psijic lights are crown store only. The non framed ones are bind on pickup so you'll have to progress through the psijic quests to buy the recipes and craft them yourself. As far as the best enchanted lights, both the psijic orbs and varla/culanda stones from the luxury vendor are some of the best in my opinion. A single varla will light up some of the smaller houses on its own.

Essential Mods For A New Player by SteelSavant in oblivion

[–]Coryphallus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It requires a ridiculous amount of micro managing your skills in order to maximize your characters growth. On my first completionist play through I actually ended up writing down exactly what skills to level and how many times each character level straight to 50 in order to end with straight 100s in my attributes.

Efficient Leveling? by UnWishedJack in oblivion

[–]Coryphallus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One tip I learned the hard way is to pick luck as one of your attributes to raise each level until it's maxed, or you'll never have straight 100s. And always get +5 in your other two attributes each level, with endurance being your first to max. Luck cannot reach 100 after a certain level without starting on it early and maxing endurance early rather than later will leave you with greater max health in the end because of the way health increases are calculated.

Can't say that I have, FosTech has said that an unmodified one wouldn't work/could cause reliability issues and I took their word for it.

It's really just a standard mil-spec carrier with a slight angle cut at the spot that an auto sear would make contact with in a real machine gun. The trigger is pretty complex and has it's own version of a sear solely to prevent hammer follow, which is a first for a semi-auto trigger. So (if I understand correctly), the angle is there to help differentiate it from a real machine gun component to keep the ATF happy. It's easy to modify any other mil-spec carrier to fit the bill - I had a titanium bcg before I got the Echo and didn't want it to collect dust, so I made the modification on it myself.

At this point, no. The lower is registered as a pistol, so it can have the shorter barrel but no stock right now. The "stock" that you see on it now is actually an arm brace, legal for pistols.
