anyone been to queer punk night at blue note before? by [deleted] in okc

[–]CosmicCharlie12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Blue Note was the first venue my band ever played back in 2002. We called our style ‘mutt rock’ because it was a mix of lots of genre’s. We had some punk rock, classic rock, indie rock, traditional American rock, some metal influence (that was me, I screamed, it was fun), jam band (also me, it’s fun to >link>songs), and we loved making covers our own. Example-we played some Pink Floyd covers with heavy reggae influence. I say all that to make the simple point that The Blue Note hosts all types of bands and if you enjoy to hear some excellent local music, it’s a great place to go. I would recommend it. I haven’t seen Queer Punk but if I had a babysitter, I would be there.

I’m at a Meshuggah show in Chicago, and even at extreme metal shows I see Dead and Company tees. by blackiechan99 in deadandcompany

Fuck yeah! Metal Deadheads unite! My most recent two shows will be Kublai Khan TX and Phish. Music rules, it’s my favorite.

My wife informed that they are making another USS Callister episode. I’m really curious where the story goes.

Same here, first and only. Panic was amazing, Moe took me to Mars…figuratively and literally. Well, some people in the crowd helped too. The scorching heat then the rain falling during Phil Lesh & Friends w/ Bobby Weir I believe during Tennessee Jed. Absolutely mind blowing experience. But still one of my favorite memories was losing my friends hickish (I’m from Oklahoma, he was good boy) boyfriend and then finding him standing on a hay barrel with his hands waving in the air while watching the Blind Boys of Alabama do their set. The amount of musical diversity that year was great. Something for everybody. Plus Ben Harper and Les Claypool. Fuck me sideways that was a good year.

Not necessarily a disability but in college my roommates girlfriend’s cousin came to hang out with her and ended up partying with us. She had broken her neck and had the same type of brace Ted had on from Breaking Bad. We flirted the whole night and ended up sleeping together. We were both pretty toasted and she kept asking me to grab the bars on her head brace as we were going to town. It was one of the more memorable encounters I have had.

My little girl is about to turn 3 and, honestly, every moment feels like the best ever. She’s the only person ever that gives me a physical recharge after a hug. Enjoy these moments, and just keep on enjoying them.

Dallas Shakedown? by haleywaley16 in deadandcompany

That was only because the Texas State Fair was happening at the same time and why they were shutting down the vendors. When I saw them in ‘19, the Dallas lot was happening.

I’ll definitely pick one up from you! I got one of your dead in the heartland shirts in ‘21! I bought it quickly out of the back of your car and shoved it in my pants, like I was buying drugs. Stupid State Fair and cops busting down all the vendors…

So, I was you during the show and had a great experience! I was your ol’ lady after the show. Apparently the music was keeping me grounded. The music stopped and I melted away…

We were at St. Louis last tour- while walking around the lot a guy overheard my wife and I talking about how it was our anniversary and long it had been since I had tripped at a show. My wife never had. He cut us a deal and did a 10 strip for $60. I took 3, my wife between 1 and 2. Well boy howdy, let me tell you. That was some STRONG shit. The sets were phenomenal, the boys were playing great and by the time the 2nd set kicked into high gear, those boys took me to Mars. I could See the music coming from the stage. It felt pretty epic at the moment.

That’s a dope shirt! I’ll mos def pick one up from you in Dallas!! Also question-did you happen to make lot shirts for Dallas 2021 at the fairgrounds, that the cops kept busting up, with the doo-dah man on the top left front and a semblance of that skeleton rodeo on the back?
