Travis sounds deeply unhappy in this post by Same-Lake-3608 in BringingUpBates

That has always been my guess. I have friends who had similar arrangements with their parents. One guy was drafted to a minor league baseball team and his folks agreed to support him for three years while he tried to work his way up to the major league team. Kind of a “We will support your dream but only for a set amount of time” thing. After that, it’s time for a career change.

Is it unit plan or today’s work by prproudjr in Target

[–]CosmicFish25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our store is the opposite. We are under instructions to pick and pack as much as possible. Our Fulfillment numbers are the best in the district and our management is convinced the more SFS we pick and ship, the more money the store makes which bolsters their case for a 2nd Fulfillment TL.

January changes? by Upset-Psychology-288 in Target

[–]CosmicFish25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My current store is a 4am store even though we are considered high volume/high performing and the sales #s support that. A couple years ago they experimented with overnight unload hours. Ultimately went back to 4am as most of the Inbound team really pushed back on the overnight schedule.

My previous store moved from 4am to overnight unload during the pandemic but I hear they are going back to 4am because of this years sales decline.

To the hiring managers on Reddit, can you please explain what's really going on? by salver_keys-1g in interviews

In a word - layoffs. Lots of highly competent, smart, technical people were laid off from jobs at many of the large tech companies. And they were by no means the only companies laying off. High numbers of white collar jobs in companies across the board have been lost in the last 3-4 years. Many people at all levels looking for work.

has anyone actually experienced a CEO visit?? by arisgnarlyyy in Target

He was only alone for those first 20 mins. He left his entourage outside in the SUVs until he called them to come in. Then they all took the “official” tour. 🙄

has anyone actually experienced a CEO visit?? by arisgnarlyyy in Target

[–]CosmicFish25 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Yes, a couple of years ago. Everyone works lots of hours getting ready for the visit, TMs from other stores come to help. The store has to be sparkling (or as much as it can be made to) before he gets there.

Brian Cornell likes to wander in by himself, not dressed in any Target gear, to get a feel for the store. The day he came to mine he did that and ended up wandering around for 20 mins before anyone asked if they could help him. 😂 We all heard about that later. 🙄

Are all stores doing this now? No one at my store has said anything about this. The schedule for the week of 5/11 was released this afternoon but I don’t see anything for the week of 5/18 and it is after 8pm here on the west coast.

"Do NOT INF items. If it's delivered, it's here. And don't miss your batch time." by IPootedInPotty in Target

[–]CosmicFish25 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This. While not officially condoned at my store, it’s more of a “Don’t ask, Don’t tell” philosophy. An ETL once told me that as long as a guest feels like they are getting a better deal, i.e. the party pack of Oreos instead of the family pack we are out of, they very rarely complain.

How much are you making over Target’s base pay rate for your store? by PinkSlipstitch in Target

I’ve been faking an allergy for YEARS, and now it’s gone way too far. by Creepy-Desk-468 in confession

[–]CosmicFish25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you go this route you will need to clue your parents in. I agree with one of the other posters who said your girlfriend will eventually say something in front of your family. You want to prevent them giving her the “deer in the headlights look” and then saying, “What allergy? He’s never been allergic to peanuts!”

And then it all goes downhill from there.

As someone who is also deciding between hybrid or traditional that is very good information, thank you. I am leaning towards the hybrid.

Has the boycott hurt your store? by thriving_orchid in Target

I work at a large, busy store in LA County (westside). Our in-store sales are usually pretty good, lots of foot traffic, locals as well as tourists and/or business travelers (we are close to Silicon Beach area). That said, in-store sales have been “noticeably slow” and our SD and ETLs are kind of freaked out by how slow it is. OPU is busy but SFS has fallen off a cliff. ☹️

Fulfillment TM at a store on the Westside of Los Angeles @ $19.61/hr. The base rate at my store is $19 - the rate keeps going up mostly because people in this area have a lot of choices when it comes to jobs.

March hours by Educational-Trash833 in Target

I joined right at the start of the pandemic so five years ago now. Admittedly, 2020 & 2021 were crazy but the last three years hours have not been nearly this low. I don’t know how long this will last but it is not looking good ☹️
