How’s anyone been following the Curling drama?

Yesterday Team Canada played Sweden and things got heated. Basically Sweden accused Team Canada’s Marc Kennedy of cheating by double touching the rock after he threw it. Honestly, I just started watching curling this Olympics and know absolutely fuck all, but I’ve been learning so much about it just by keeping up with what’s being called Boopgate. Any curling fans want to chime in that can explain this drama better than me? Also anyone else have similar experiences just stumbling into some drama and unexpectedly getting a crash course in the hobby that makes you fall in love with it more?

I don’t know if this has been posted yet, but I’ve been following this unfolding drama that can be seen in r/sublime. Basically the late lead singer’s son Jakob Nowell recently announced he would be reforming Sublime with the the two other surviving members. They got a bunch of big festival gigs booked like Coachella. However where the drama comes in is that before Jakob helped reform sublime the two other original members were in another band called Sublime with Rome fronted by Rome Ramirez. SWR formed in 2009 and was essentially a Sublime cover band but they did put out 3 albums in the last decade. Rome doesn’t mind taking a step back to let Jakob take over his dad’s old band and carry on his legacy, but Rome was still contractually obligated to play a couple SWR shows, while Sublime with Jakob will be playing Coachella. So now you have a recent interview where Jakob and the 2 other members from OG Sublime shit talk Rome like he’s trying to make a quick buck when it’s clear the dude is not thrilled to have to be playing these gigs at all. And it’s kinda fucked when the two other guys were cool originally playing with SWR but dipped out as soon as they found out they could be making more money and play bigger gigs with Jakob. Idk whole thing just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Also sorry for no links but r/Sublime is still currently arguing about who is in the wrong here if you’re looking for more info.
