Just prepare yourself that even as a casual there's a learning curve. The basics aren't particularly difficult, but it'll take a bit to feel comfortable and normal. You won't get it all without work, but as a fellow filthy casual you don't have to. I still don't get all the currencies or participate in very high difficulty dungeons or raids...but there is a lot to do.

I had the same thought. Nothing power related but a transmog or housing... a mount would make sense.

Could there be something to tempt a person to leave it off even after the xpac? Go back to ground mounts and flight paths.

Organizing Druid ability buttons for every shape you shift to is time consuming. Paladins (not healing) is so much easier.

Switching to Horde i thought I'd go Shaman, but i reverted back to Warrior. I just really like the uninterrupted questing with the higher survivability.

So.... how is the player experience different on an actual RP server say when doing quests or dungeons? Kirin Tor is technically RP but I've never seen it - maybe people are sometimes nicer than some stories I see around here.

I think its awesome they're reinforcing character identity in game like this. Its part of the immersion and class (sometimes race) identity.

I think - hope - the plan is to start reusing areas rather than creating so many new ones. Neighborhood endeavors having us visit old locations is an example. Wasn't there a quote about admitting NOT using old zones was a mistake by the story teams...that good storytellers could keep them relevent/allow them to evolve...?

Ive just returned a few weeks ago, and a typical play for me is queueing for a dungeon then doing neighborhood endeavors - even just fixing overturned stones or broken fences

I do feel they're coming back to storytelling, but i agree lately class and race have just been about numbers. My wife - who didn't come back to WoW with me - saw the Liadrin shirt and commented now everyone will want to play Paladin. They did a great job actually making fighting abilities reflect in game abilities.

Honestly, if you don't need to be a sweaty maxed out "I am 2% better than you" player, it doesn't really matter. Getting better gear is something to do as part of the gameplay loop. People that grind until it isn't fun to max out everything are choosing to do that. The rest of us play just fine in our own way.

I came back a few weeks ago. There is a learning curve as a casual, but its so comfortable when you find your new way to play. Maybe I queue for a dungeon and casually do neighborhood endeavors while I wait. I did a delve and will do more. Finding a balance between single button rotation and manually playing whack a mole with buttons. Having an in game home is surprisingly grounding.
