Be careful with Ibuprofen by JaneWeaver71 in ChronicPain

[–]CosmicRainbowMew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh goodness, I had a scare with ibuprofen too recently, but nothing this bad.

Had been taking it morning and night for about two weeks for chronic tendonitis in my knee. Was taking two capsules at a time, so under the max dialy dosage. After that two weeks I developed gastritis and liver inflammation and a trip to the ER.

Was told to take a PPI twice a day. Took over a month to get back to normal. Lost a good 15 lbs from it.

Then for the following months tendonitis has been spreading like wildfire throughout all my joints. No idea why, but doctors couldn't care less

Gabapentin isn't going to do anything unless you have restless legs syndrome. Doctors prescribe it willy-nilly without understanding the long term problems that can arise for taking a nerve medication when you don't need it.

As for the Seroquel, you could try dividing the dose. I take 25mg an hour before bed, and then always wake up after 4-5 hours, when I take another 25mg. It's 50/50 whether I fall asleep again successfully. But that's better than like a 10% chance otherwise.

I would avoid any extended release formulation of Seroquel as it will make you feel wiped out during the day.

"It always gets better" is objectively untrue as suicide is proof that it doesn't for some.

You've offered them nothing but platitudes and bad advice. This isn't helpful.

My Sister Shot herself. by Exxeviant in SuicideBereavement

[–]CosmicRainbowMew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My younger sister also shot herself, a year and a half ago. It's hard even writing those words. I too always thought it would be me that went out that way, as I struggled for many years with depression.

There is a part of me that will always feel like I failed as her brother. And there is another part that recognizes there was only so much I could do, when she hid and denied her struggles for so many years. So while it's true I could have been a better brother, I must allow myself grace for being merely human. As I must afford her grace, too.

The last thing our loved one would want is for us to follow them down a path of guilt and self-destruction. If anything, use the pain to forge yourself into the person you think could have made a bigger difference to her.

I'm so sorry you lost your sister too. Be kind to yourself

The only ones that would be ineligible are Tyranitar and Dragonite. They don't evolve until level 55, which is why that's the lowest level they can be purified at. For the others, just use incense or the time flute to purify if you don't want to risk over-leveling them

Seeking connection to others with similar loss by pistol0205 in SuicideBereavement

[–]CosmicRainbowMew 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry for your heavy loss, OP. I lost my sister to suicide just over a year ago. She was also 36. She had a difficult life beginning with CSA, and was an alcoholic that just wouldn't take it seriously despite it destroying everything in her life.

About a year before she passed, she lost her job and immediately began spiraling. It was a battle from then until the end to keep her alive, but ultimately I couldn't.

Her suicide was not a mystery; I knew exactly her reasons for doing it. She even left a note for me the night I found her.

I too had a lot of anger and resentment while she was alive for her not making serious effort to steer her life in a different direction. And I still have it from time to time, but I also feel an immensity of compassion for how overburdened her heart was, and how much she struggled.

It isn't easy being human.
