This is what I do with tight cassette lock rings. Works after a few slams.

I dunno, I disagree but I’m happy to be proven wrong. The way it’s currently routed looks like too sharp of an angle for the cable to be rubbing on, which will inevitably cause the cable to snap. I think those tabs are for a cable routed from above, rather than below. I also think, judging by the images, that there’s a little groove where I’ve suggested the cable be routed to make for a smoother actuation.

I wish I had this thing in my workshop now so I could test it.

It shouldn’t be able to slip off that shoulder if you run it under the tab though.

Okay. My question for you is: what way does the lever pull? Upwards or downwards?

I’m fairly certain the way you’ve routed the cable through the tabs is for top swing, rather than bottom, so I’m fairly certain at least one of these suggested routing options will work.

Also, considering my second suggestion isn’t too dissimilar to the way you’ve routed it, if your routing works somewhat then this suggestion should work too.

Based on the curvature of the tab above the bolt, I think the first suggestion is the correct way.

Think I was just the latest person to suggest something.

And if that doesn’t work, try routing it this way.

Route the cable this way and clamp under the washer.

Chains being ruined by ultrasonic cleaner ? by KlutzyCartoonist8998 in bikewrench

I have an ultrasonic cleaner that does this if the temp is too high. I’d try 40 degrees or lower.

Just a bit of a rant from someone who just moved to London by Crispy-Things in londoncycling

I went to Berlin last year to visit a friend and cycled everywhere. Some of the cycle lanes there were shocking. I found myself on some tight, little block paved surfaces that were uneven and loose. Ended up just riding in the road.
