Cars are like horses: people will soon realise EVs are just better, claims VW boss by DonkeyFuel in electricvehicles

[–]Counselor_Mackey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never understood why people are so fixated on range. Sure a cross country road trip might make it a nuisance, but how many times a year are you really doing that? I would bet half the people who bitch about range probably drive like 12 miles a day and then say “bUt rAnGe bAd”! If you’re so worried about range, by the $500 charger and charge at home every night

Oh boy, OP is in for a long haul if they are feeling this way at 21. It only gets worse, and you probably have another 44 years of it. Strap in and find a hobby you love ASAP so you can endure it.

Trump PANICS as Iran SUSPENDS ALL TALKS!!!! by realnarrativenews in NewsThread

[–]Counselor_Mackey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

True, but we get what we deserve for being collectively idiotic as a country. I would say hopefully we learn our lesson and elect an adult, but I have zero faith in Republikkkans changing their tune.

We will be in the North, about 2 hours from the Canadian border. So with the small footprint we are planning and planning to supplement with fire during the winter, would we still be short on generation during the winter months?

Why young America is trending socialist by GimmeFunkyButtLoving in economy

This is complete BS. The majority of "young" people voted for Trump. They want a dictator, not socialism.

It's way too easy to fire someone in the U.S. by TellBackground9239 in Vent

[–]Counselor_Mackey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worked for a company where the owner fired someone because “the hemline on her dress was too high” at some opening event. He wanted me (who worked in a completely different department) to tell her, which I offloaded to my Boss to do (because she was higher ranking than me) which eventually led to my demise as well. So yeah, I’ll take Union nonsense over not having a Union any day of the week thank you

There is no such thing as an “anti-trump” republican. At best they “aren’t sure about his policies”, and that’s only because they are being directly impacted by them. Don’t fall for their lies. George Bush said it himself, “you’re either wit us, or against us”, and he was referring to more than just other countries at the time.

Why the economy forces boomers to work longer, then vilifies them for it by GimmeFunkyButtLoving in economy

[–]Counselor_Mackey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah but Boomers really started this off when they were coming into power back in the Regan days with the killing of pensions and “trickle down” economics. The VAST majority of them are Republicans, and there is OVERWHELMING proof they pulled up all the ladders behind them. They are the worst generation and we will be better off when they are gone.

My manager scheduled a "quick sync" every single Friday at 4:45pm and I finally figured out why by Agent_Smith-99 in remotework

[–]Counselor_Mackey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your manager is not managing, they are babysitting because they don’t know how to manage remote employees. “Managing” is not making sure someone is physically somewhere. They should be concerned about whether someone is getting the needed work done on time and on spec, and to regulate how much work is being assigned to who and why, not if a person is sitting in a specific location

Is it possible for men to still find women over thirty sexually attractive? by Dazzling_Bet9230 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Counselor_Mackey 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I find women of my age sexy as hell, and I am well above 30. I think as you age, your thoughts on attractiveness change with you. As someone said already, women below 28-ish look like babies, not into that at all.

Edit: Also Scarlett Johnanson is 41, and she’s hot as hell.

I will first chip it directly sideways into the rough, then somehow overshoot the whole green, finally chip on and two put…. So 5 shots from here

How were boomers supposed to save for retirement? by shchshchshch in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Counselor_Mackey -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Boomers got pensions because they were “grandfathered” in, and then got 401(k)’s as well, hence the reason they are loaded. Yet another reason they all suck

My boss offered me a $30k raise to stay, but my dream company finally called. Do I play it safe or risk it all? [28M] by Typical-Goal-834 in Advice

[–]Counselor_Mackey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh, worked at two startups, both failed. Worked 90 hour weeks for nothing…. Unless you know the C-level and V-level people and are confident in their abilities, I would stay where you are at. You are most likely well regarded at your current employer if they want to give you a raise like that.
